trust is a gamble.

we place where we deem fit
and return with a loss or hit

one pits all on one
or spreads out some

some withdraw as risk appears
with rules to which one must adhere

while others remain until conclusion
and leave with prizes, or confusion

a novice is quick to give away
but the wise are mindful of where to stray

yet no-one can can always predict
how the end will truly play

some add their lives, for the sensation,
or the dawning realisation

that they've caught someone to last,
consuming the future, present and past.

wherever you choose to place your trust
remember always that you must

choose wisely, embrace the unknown
and confidently place the trust you own
