Part 5:Kindergartners
Have you ever had to babysit five kids?
Rose is the oldest of seven, five girls (Rose, Lucy, Lily, Ginny, and Cathy), and two boys (Adam and Zachery), and I'm sure she babysits at least four almost everyday.
Sheldon is a middle child. Older sister, Brittany, and younger brother,Noah. So he usually only watches Noah on the weekends.
I am an only child, so I don't know this concept. I wasn't always an only child, though. I had a twin brother named Hunter fro a couple of years, but he was diagnosed with cancer on our third birthday, and died four months later.
But I'm not to sad about him. Can't miss what you can barely remember. All I can recall is my parents crying and a box being put into the ground. Only years later did I realize Hunter was in that box.
Anyways, back to the Kindergartners. Babysitting five kids is not as easy as it sounds. Tyler stayed quiet for most of the time. But on the other hand all Amy and Donna wanted to do was run around like complete and total maniacs, swinging around toys and food. I lost Clara four times at least, not counting how many times Jayce lost the little menace. I could tell Rory was an only child because he would not share or let go of any of the Legos, even to go to the bathroom, which was both greedy and disgusting.
" 'Ere you go," said Amy, as she put something wrapped up in a paper towel, which was cute for about thirty seconds, when I then realized she had put chewed up hot dogs in my hand.
"Ew," I said softly, very grossed out.
"What happened?" Jayce asked from across the room, shaking off Donna from his leg.
"Amy-" I started, but he interrupted.
"Put chewed up food in your hand," He finished as I nodded."I got jelly beans a couple of minutes ago."
I opened my mouth to respond, but again he butt in, and this time I nearly fainted.
"I was wondering if you could come over to my house today after school today, to, you known, help me with homework," he said, stuttering with almost every word. And we both knew I was completely useless for homework help. After seeing my face he added," But you don't have to! I was just, you know, wondering if you might be able to help me with homework. At my house. After detention. Today." He blushed a little after saying that, and he looked like he was about to start slapping himself in the forehead as we walked out for dismissal.
I turned red as the chewed up strawberry jelly beans that Amy gave Jayce. I was slow to answer but when I did, my answer surprised me as much as him.
"I think I'm going to pass for today," I answered, in complete denial of my statement and his offer. After a long pause I added," But I will come over tomorrow!" That surprised me as much as the first answer.
"Great! See you then!" Jayce yelled, looking over his shoulder as he got in his dad's car.
About ten minutes later my mom drove up; my family is always late.
"What happened to you? You look like a deer in headlights!" my mom told me as I sat in the front seat.
"I...I...I," I couldn't finish. I was going to Jayce's house after school tomorrow!
