Chapter 5: The Fallen Angel
A/N: This is the real chapter 5.
I was outside with Legna, searching for supplies. I'd learned what had happened to everyone in Starstruck. Apparently when I left, Mr. Dainty had borrowed a book from someone and started a ritual. But the ritual, instead of what he was intending, put a curse on the entire studio, leaving everyone broken. Also when I left, Mr. Dainty started to experiment on the toons and some of the workers, including his own daughter, Violet. Now everyone is trapped in the studio with no way out.
"Do you hear that?", I heard Legna say. I listened, and heard footsteps. They were quick, like someone was in a rush. Legna produced a sword from thin air (cause toons can do that) and readied to attack if necessary. Suddenly the footsteps stopped.
Me and the risen demon stood there for a while, listening. No noise. I grabbed Legna's hand, and ran back to the room where the kids were.
I opened the door, got Legna inside, and then locked the door.
"What happened?", Adarsha asked, worried. Amsan sat, playing with a toy train.
"Footsteps. Not ours.", Legan said.
Adarsha frownd.
"How many?", Amsan asked.
"Only one, but who knows,", Legna said.
"There could have been more."
I was still at the door, just standing.
Suddenly, we heard footsteps again.
This time, Legna grabbed me and hurried us all to the other room.
We heard the door gingle, someone, or something, was trying to open it. Then we heard pounding on the door.
I heard Amsan whimper, trying not to make too much noise. Adarsha hugged her brother to soothe him, Legna had her sword out again.
The pounding had stopped, but we didn't move. We could tell the person was still there.
The air that was blowing through the vent suddenly stopped. We all frozed, scared.
"Why did it stop?", Adarsha mouthed. I shrugged.
Suddenly we heard the sound of the door being smashed.
We all jumped and saw a hug knife in the middle of the door, ripping it apart.
Legna shoved the kids at me and flew to the doorway to the room we were in. I couldn't see what was happening in front of Legna.
Two more smashes, and I could tell the door was destroyed.
Legna was really tense, she ran forward, and I could hear her sword hitting something metal.
I held the Dainty kids, who were scared. I noticed Adarsha was holding a pocket knife, but even she seemed terrified.
Suddenly the vent cover fell to the floor, making a loud clank.
And 6.D.6 came out of the vents.
My heart almost stopped. I held the kids closer, ready to protect them with my life.
6.D.6 looked at me, and smiled a smile that wasn't friendly at all.
"We found you~", she said. She held up a hunter knife, but didn't attack us.
"I don't want to let blood shed, that's not my order.", 6.D.6 said.
"So, here's the deall: You three and the toon come with us, and we won't have to resort to violence."
I just looked at her, Amsan was crying out loud, and Adarsha had tears streaming down her cheeks.
"You're gonna have to come with us one way or another.", 6.D.6 said.
"My partner already has that toon, so what's yours?"
I knew I couldn't fight back. Even with Adarsha's pocket knife, we couldn't beat her.
We silently, save for Amsan's crying, got up and followed 6.D.6 to the main room.
7.8.7 was there, holding Legna in one hand and her sword in another. He looked upset, as if he expected us to fight back. Legna looked defeated, she held her right arm and looked at the ground....
....
6.D.6 shoved Amsan forward, nocking him down.
"Keep up kid!", she said. 7.8.7 looked behind him, and seemed to show pity for Amsan, but said nothing. Adarsha reached out and pulled her brother up. Legna was at the very front with 7.8.7, walking by without force but didn't act.
I walked up to 7.8.7, who seemed to be more trustful than his partner.
"Um, where are we going?", I asked.
"To our boss. The Fallen Angel.", he said.
"Why didn't you fight back."
I heard him say under his breath.
It took a while, but then we made it to a huge room. It was filled with posters of Pandora Angel, Legna's sister, and other things like boxes and weapons.
"Stand there, 6.D.6's going to call Boss.", 7.8.7 said ask 6.D.6 left.
Legna went with no hesitation, like me and Amsan. Adarsha stood where she was.
"Move!", 7.8.7 said, giving her a little push forward, but his tone and hardness wasn't like 6.D.6's, more, gentle.
Finally 6.D.6 came back, and stood to our left while 7.8.7 was at our right. We heard the Celestial World theme song come on.
Welcome to a world, a long lost world
Where the dark and the light can play
Together as one, harmonic and fun
A Celestial World today
I never really minded the song, but now I just felt weird.
"Together as one, untill Mr.Dainty came in.", a voice said. A black figure came from the sky and landed in front of us.
I knew it was her, but at the same time I didn't.
She had a torn dress, her hair a mess, two big horns, and unfamiliar anger in her face. I could only tell it was her by the cross necklace she wore around her neck, though it was cracked in many places.
"You've made an awful mistake coming here again Alvarado. A very, awful mistake.", Pandora said. Even her voice was almost unrecognizable. It has deeper, and more stern than her once cheery, soprano voice.
"7.8.7, take them to the prison, except for Legna. 6.D.6, follow me with Legna."
The two nodded and started leading everyone away, Pandora leading 6.D.6 and Legna.
...
"Why didn't you fight?!", 7.8.7 whispered in my ear. I looked back at his in confusion and suprise.
"You could've at least tried!", he said.
"Why do you care if we fight or not?", I asked him.
"Jason it's me."
I looked into his brown, worried-like eyes.
"Jackson?", I said suprised. Jackson Sherlock had been a voice actor for this studio, voicing many character, including Basile Demon, who was Legna's lover. He was always the worried and nervous one, but if he was being attacked, he'd fight back.
"Jackson..."
There was always someone with Jackson back then. A woman with green eyes, brown hair...
"Was that, Diana; is she-?", I began.
"6.D.6's Diana alright;", Jackson said.
"Even in this world we stick together."
Diana was Jackson's friend, she wrote music for the episodes.
"Keep calling us 7.8.7 and 6.D.6. Please.", Jackson said. I nodded and looked at the Dainty kids, who has heard everything.
"You're Jackson Sherlock.", Adarsha said with suprise. 7.8.7 nodded and put a finger to his mouth, meaning to be quiet.
"Where here.", 7.8.7 said. I felt him put something in my hand, and then roughly, but also gently, push us inside and lock the door.
"And don't think of escaping.", he said, and left.
Aadarsha ran up and banged on the door.
"Let us out!", she yelled.
"Sis it's no use, nobody'll come. They're all mean.", Amsan said, hugging himself. I looked at my hand, and saw a key.
"Guys.."
The Dainty kids looked at me and saw what was in my hand.
"Try?"
They nodded. I walked up and tried the key on the door. It opened.
"Come on, and quietly.", I said, and we sneaked out.
I peeked out of the corner, seeing some toons. Adarsha tapped my shoulder, and pointed to an open vent. With quite struggle, we managed to get inside.
"Sister you do not have to do this, you're not like that other angel."
We heard Legna's voice, and followed it. We eventually made it to the right room. Legna was tied to a cross, Pandora sharpening something.
Pandora turned to her sister.
"Emily only wanted fame, I want more."
"Then why, what to I give you?", Legna pleaded.
"I need the hearts of a risen demon. We had none in the show, but here.."
Legna looked at her sister in horror.
"She can't do that!", Adarsha hissed. She pulled out something from her pocket and threw it. It landed somewhere near a door. This grabbed the sisters' attention.
"Someone's here.", Pandora said. She turned her focus away from Legna, who was trying to get the robes holding her to the cross with her teeth.
I turned back to find that Amsan had somehow gotten out of the vent and was making his way to Legna. He grabbed a nearby knife and began to quickly cut Legna free. Just as the final rope fell, Pandora noticed.
"You!"
"Go go!", Legna said, grabbing Amsan and flying up.
"Vents!", Amsan said. Adarsha opened the vent and allowed them in then shut the vent before Pandora could make it.
"Move! Now!"
I didn't need any more persuasion. I was already far from the room with the others right behind.
"Where to?", I said, not really knowing where to go.
"Go left then two more lefts then straight.", Adarsha said.
We eventually got out of the vent, and good thing, I was starting to get cramps from crouching so much.
I looked around, and found we were back in the Costume Department. I started panicking when Legna held my shoulder.
"Don't worry, Maachathi should be sleeping now.", she said.
"How did you know where to go?", I asked, looking at Adarsha.
"When we were younger me and Amsan sometimes moved around through the vents."
I made a disappointed face, knowing that they weren't allowed to do that, but I was also glad that they did. They helped us.
"How did you escape the cell?", Legna asked.
"We had some help from a friend.", I said. I'd have to thank 7.8.7 when I can.
We relocated nearby, since we knew we couldn't go back to that apartment anymore, gathered a few supplies, and told stories.
When the kids were finally asleep, I turned to Legna.
"Why? Why is Pandora doing this?"
Legna shrugged sadly.
"I wish I could answer it, but I don't know.
"This isn't the Pandora I know, the one who was cheerful, kind, someone to look up to.."
Legna had tears coming down. I patted her back as she choaked out,
"That isn't my big sister."
I knew that not only were we losing coworkers and toons, we were losing friends, family, people we care for.
I have to stop this. I need to put an end to all of this.
We need to talk. I need to explain why this chapter took so long.
