Chapter 69
Panchaali blinked her eyes open, "you slept for quite awhile Sakhi." Krishn teased as he laid on the ground, his hand supporting his head as he looked at his best friend. "Yea because I need my energy to taunt you back." She teased him making him pout, "Did you heard that Dau!" Krishn complained as he looked at his Dau, who looked at Panchaali and smiled.
"Choti did you hear something?" He feigned innocence as he looked around as though searching for someone, Krishn gasped in mock horror and narrowed his eyes on the two with fake anger, Panchaali's eyes lit with humour as she too shook her head. "Um hm nope. Can you hear something? Must be a fly." She played along, swatting her hand in the air as though shooing a fly away, Krishn's mouth hung open as his eyes widened in shock, he pointed at himself and mumbled "Me? A fly?" He mouthed the words in disbelief as Balram and Panchaali completely ignored him. "How rude!" Krishn complained as he fake glared at Panchaali and his brother, who were fighting back laughter, but managed to keep their faces straight.
"Panchaali!" Rukmani and Satyabhama exclaimed excited as the two walked in, Panchaali looked up at the two joy filled her chest as she rushed towards them. The three hugged, tears glazing their eyes while laughter leaving their mouths.
"You silly girl, before marriage, most of your time you stayed in Dwarka but the moment you got married, you completely forgot about us." Rukmani complained, feigning to be angry. "Let it be jiji the pandavas must keep her busy. After all three children in the span of two years is something not all of us could do." Satya teased making Panchaali blush, her cheeks heated as her heart beat wildly, embarrassment flooded her being. "You!" She teased as she mock glared at Satya who laughed and squealed as she turned around and ran, Panchaali followed her. Everyone in the room laughed seeing their silliness, "I am Sorry!" Satya exclaimed between her giggles, "Apology not accepted!" She shot back between her laughs as she pinched Satya's ear halting her, "Ow ow ow! That hurts!" Satya whined, "It's supposed to!" Panchaali shot back in a fake serious voice.
"You will hurt your friend?" Satya asked in a baby voice as she pouted, giving her the best puppy dog eyes. "Aw." Draupadi's heart melted as she sighed and wrapped her arms around Satya, who hugged her back. "I missed You!" She whispered as tears formed in her eyes making Panchaali's heart melt, "I missed you too!" She confessed back as she hugged her closer, "not fair you two always forget me!" Complained Rukmani as she gave them her puppy dog look, "Awww." The two said together as they looked at each other and smiled before pulling back and running to Rukmani and wrapping their arms around her, the three giggled in joy. "I really missed this." Rukmani sighed, as a content look marred her face, "me too!" Satya stated with a laugh, "Me three!" Panchaali exclaimed childishly making the other two laugh.
"Where is my hug?" Krishna whined, "Did you hear something?" Rukmani asked as she looked at the two, feigning confusion while from in she was laughing like hell, "Um nope. Did you?" Satya played along, her eyes lit with humour as her face remained calm. "Oh nothing, it's just a fly, a big nosey fly, but a fly nonetheless." Panchaali added, her voice and face were calm but mentally she was rolling on the floor with laughter.
"You!" Krishn accused, disbelief lacing his words, he wrapped his arms around Panchaali's hand making her squeal as he pulled her close to him. He wrapped his arms around her as he looked at everyone, "My best friend!" He fake growled making everyone laugh, as Panchaali giggled and laid her head on his chest, "Yes Krishn." She agreed with a smile making him sigh in relief as he wrapped his arms around her and sighed, soon everyone got back to work while Krishn and Balram, sat down reading some scrolls.
She shut her eyes as sat, the images of her husbands washed through her mind, all the humour vanished as the need for her arya washed over her. She wanted to see them, to meet them, she missed them so much.
A memory flashed through her, Arya Arjun kissing her and bathing her, was it true? Or a dream? Everything was too messed up, her heart beat wildly as joy surged through her as she rushed to the mirror that was in the corner of the room, her eyes widened as she looked the mirror, there on her neck rested a hickey. It meant they were here? They were weren't they? She looked down at herself, the soft yellow lehnga that she wore, her eyes specially focused on the odhni as expected the pleats were different the way only Arya Bheem could do, her eyes moving to her toe rings, again they were at an odd position just like Arya Sahadev would do every morning. Her wedding ring that most woman wore in the ring finger of the right hand, hers like always was in the left hand of her ring finger, just the way arya Nakul would put, "the nerve from this finger directly reaches your heart and we rule your heart so this ring will always remain here." , his words came floating in her mind making her smile as tears brimmed her eyes. Her eyes rested on her mangalsutr remembering the touch of Arjun's fingers while he put it around her neck had her shuddering, her eyes travelling to the mirror, her maang was filled with almost three inches with sindur, just the way arya Yudhisthir would put it every morning. Her eyes travelled to her chudamani, exact same position where arya Bheem would put it every morning, tears of joy fell from her cheeks. They were here, they were here but where were they than? Why weren't they revealing themselves?
"Krishna." She called out, her voice laced with distress, "Ha meri Krishnaa." He said with a smile as his eyes travelled sideways to her. He knew she had all figured it out, after all she was a smart woman but he couldn't let her get to know.
"What happened my priy Krishnaa? Why do you sound so stressed?" He asked as he moved towards her, a playful smile on his face while mentally he cringed at the thought of her being upset.
"Who changed my clothes?" Her voice couldn't hold back the excitement, maybe she'll meet her aryas soon. "Oh that? It was by them." He replied as he pointed at the door from where 5 women entered, Panchaali's smile faded, as her hopes crashed maybe she was thinking too much. She looked up at the five women, as Krishn began introducing them.
"Meet Bhuvani." Krishn introduced as he pointed at Bheem, who smiled.
"This is Saharika." He stated as he pointed at Sahadev.
"This my dear is Niharika." He stated as he pointed at Nakul.
"This is Aruna." He smirked as he introduced Arjun.
"And this here is Yamuna." Krishna finally interested Yudhisthir, who gave Panchaali a smile.
"They were returning home when they saw you all bloody and unconscious. So brought you back and cleaned you." He lied right through his teeth, her face fell making his heart break, ouch, he didn't want to lie to his friend.
"Dhanyawad." Panchaali said respectfully as she gave them a smile, but who was she fooling, the pandavas knew her, they could see that the smile never really reached her eyes. "And you know Panchaali they are Dau's wives." Krishna stated, humour lacing his words as he heard his elder brother chock on the water that he was drinking and cough. "My wives?!" He asked incredulously. "See he even agrees, his wives. Always so possessive of what's his I tell you." Krishna shook his head as though fed up of his brothers possessiveness, Panchaali just gave him a slight smile. "He meant they are his wives, I am just their sister, here to visit them." Nakul instantly added making Panchaali nod while Krishna just smiled like a cat who ate the cannery.
"I'll go and start the preparation for lunch." Panchaali said, too lost in her mind to notice the stink eye that the Pandavas and Balram were giving him. The moment Panchaali left the six glared at him.
"So I am their husband Kanha?" Balram asked as he glared at his younger brother, "And we are the wives Vasudev?" Bheem taunted as they all surrounded him. "Violence is prohibited in this house!" Krishn said as he gulped looking at them all. "Oh really says who?" Nakul taunted, "Says me!" He shot back, "Arey Panchaali." Krishna called out making them all turn around, he ran,the others groaned. "He too cheats!" Sahadev complained. "He is her best friend." Arjun stated as he smirked. And the others laughed. . .
