"Right Lily, am I camouflaged enough?" Ophelia asked, looking down at her body which she could still make out with some movements.
"Yep, just don't do sudden movements or else that camouflage slips. Maybe stick to a wall or something so it's not too hard for the charm to match the patterns."
"Ok, thank you Lily. Let's do this then!"
Lily headed out first, holding the dormitory door open so Ophelia could pass through without anyone thinking the door was opening on its own. As they headed down the stairs they could hear James moaning how Remus and Peter were ditching him for studying.
"Uh, Potter, you can study with me if you like?" Lily asked as they reached the bottom of the stairs.
"W-what? Me?" James was comically shy now that Lily was actually talking to him on her own accord.
"Yeh, I was just going to study down here."
"Sure!" James said rather enthusiastically before suddenly realising just how excited he sounded. "Um, I might have to go grab my books from my dorm, one second." Ophelia froze, she was currently stood on the stairs to the boys dormitories, she knew she was camouflaged but one wrong one move it would all be over.
"Wait!" Lily shouted a bit too loudly, "You can just share mine."
"Sounds like my Lily flower wants to spend time with me." James smirked.
"You wish."
Ophelia didn't hear anymore she had basically sprinted up those stairs. Unsurprisingly the boys dorm wasn't hard to find it literally had 'The Marauders' painted across their door.
"Imbeciles." Ophelia whispered with a roll of her eyes. They did have some sense to lock their door but that was easily solved. "Alohomora."
The lock clicked and Ophelia shoved the door open to be greeted with an overbearing mix of smells; tobacco, cologne, tea, sugary sweets and sweat. Three out of four sections of the room were a mess, clothes literally thrown about and bags of sweets littered the floors.
The one section of the room that was clean wasn't super organised but it was a far lot more cleaner - books were stacked beside the bed, leaning over ever so slightly. Chocolate wrappers filled the bedside table but none were on the floor, and Ophelia noticed beside the alarm clock was an empty vial, the Pepperup potion.
"Remus." Ophelia smiled, she was glad the boy had taken the potion, she was just glad to be helping someone. In fact Remus was the most welcoming of all the boys, he probably didn't need to be pranked but she also guessed that he would be the mastermind behind some of their best. Therefore he needs showing he's not the only good prankster about. Ophelia summoned a bit of parchment and scribbled down the word 'sorry' before placing it beneath all the chocolate wrappers, hopefully he wouldn't guess what it was about if he saw it before the prank played out.
Ophelia carried on with her 'mission' by starting with Remus' alarm clock first, she charmed it to go off at 4am, then she moved over to the next bedside table and charmed this one to go off at 4:24am. Exact yes, but she didn't want to make the intervals obvious. The next clock was set at 4:52am and the final one at 5:18am, but this wasn't enough. Ophelia duplicated the clocks six more times and to be extra evil hid them under things to make it harder for them to stop the alarm. These clocks were set at 3:13am, 3:38am, 5:47am, 6:12am, 6:32am and the last one at 7am but by this point Ophelia hoped they wouldn't even bother with the thought of trying to sleep.
The alarm clock trick was a classic muggle prank, one Ophelia had had played on her a few times, she hoped the boys would think it was one of the others who did it to them.
Next stage of the prank was their school shoes, initially Ophelia had planned to just shrink them - like the prank of putting cotton wool in the ends of shoes but with magic instead. However Ophelia knew they would probably just charm them back to their usual size and Ophelia didn't know a charm that could prevent this. But whilst looking at the mess of their room, Ophelia thought of a better idea, she just needed to camouflage them all.
With this in mind, Ophelia transfigured every single pair of their shoes she found into an item that would usually be on their floor - books, clothes, sweet wrappers and even dirty boxers. Of course they were all wearing shoes whilst they were out but these weren't their uniform shoes so Ophelia knew they'd be too frustrated to even remember they could just wear them; although maybe Remus would be sensible enough just to wear them.
This was all Ophelia needed to do in the room and looking at a clock she realised she'd been in here almost an hour so with one last glance to admire her work Ophelia headed out and locked the door behind her. She snuck down the stairs, spotting Alice, Remus and Peter climb through the portrait, and quickly ran up the stairs of the girls side. Once at the top she removed the disillusionment charm and walked down the stairs once more.
"Hey guys!"
"Ophelia! Did you have a good nap?" Lily asked, her acting surprisingly good.
"Amazing, thank you."
"Ophelia could you plait my hair ready for tomorrow?" Alice asked, but with a wink.
"Course I can!" Ophelia realised this was just a tactic to hear how it had went, "Let's go upstairs."
"I'll join you." Lily basically flew out of the chair from beside James.
Once they reached the room Ophelia filled them in on what she had done so far, at about 9:30pm Marlene returned. Now Ophelia just needed to wait until they had all gone back to their dorms, so to keep a lookout her and Marlene sat downstairs in the common room. Marlene took this time to ask Ophelia about an outfit choice and it ended in Ophelia sketching a design out for her, Marlene was pleasantly surprised to learn how good Ophelia was at design and styling.
By 11pm Remus and Peter had headed back to their dorm, but Sirius and James were still in an intense match of Wizards chess until James crushed Sirius' King at 12:15am. Sirius went upstairs first in a drastic exit muttering about how James was a cheat, James soon followed.
"How long do you think until they fall asleep?" Ophelia whispered to Marlene, only to be greeted by quiet snores. "Great partner you are Marls." Ophelia grabbed a blanket and placed it over Marlene. To pass some time Ophelia created the next part of the plan.
The Prewett twins had gifted Ophelia a dungbomb the previous week so with that, a large piece of parchment, a bucket of water, a bucket of pink paint and one more bucket filled with golden glitter Ophelia levitated them and headed up the boys staircase for the last time that night. Leaning an ear to the door Ophelia could hear some snores but more importantly no speaking, so she began the task.
First she strengthened the parchment with a spell, then stuck one end to the very top of the door frame and the other end to the wall over the door. With the strengthening charm working, Ophelia placed the dungbomb and two buckets in the hammock that the paper had created. This meant that when the door opened in the morning, all of these items should tip directly onto whoever walked out first. Satisfied with this Ophelia headed to bed and tonight she didn't even feel the need to take the calming potion; for once she fell asleep naturally happy.

Things were not going to plan tonight, well at least not to the Marauders plans. The boys wanted a good night sleep to ensure they'd be really alert for the prank they wanted to play the following evening. But a sudden piercing sound filling the room at 3:13am ruined that.
"What is that?" James groaned.
"Sounds like an alarm." Remus rubbed his eyes to try and make sense of the surroundings.
"MAKE. IT. STOP." Sirius moaned, yanking the pillow from beneath him and tightening it around his head.
"Think it's coming from Peter. Peter?" James was now sat up staring at where he thought Peters bed was. With no response from Peter, Sirius threw his pillow at him.
"Ow. Wait what is noise." Peter answered in a muffled voice.
"Your alarm." James groaned. Remus at this point had reached over to his nightstand to grab his wand and was slowly getting out of his bed.
"Lumos. Here let's find it Peter." Remus made his way over to Peters side, sighing at the mess on the floor. After digging around for a few minutes, Remus shoved his wand under the bed and discovered the alarm clock buzzing on the wood. "It's under your bed Pete. You must have just knocked it off the side and that made it go off."
"Sorry guys." Peter rubbed his eyes.
"You better mean that, you rudely awoke me from my dream where I won the Quidditch World Cup." James mocked wiping a tear from his eyes.
"Shut. Up." Sirius continued to moan from his bed.
"It's ok, easy mistake Peter. Let's just get back to sleep." Remus headed back to his bed, removing the charm from his wand before sliding between his covers. Just as his head hit the pillow and he began to close his eyes, that same shrieking sound filled the room again.
"Oh for fuck sake Peter." Sirius wasn't happy in the slightest.
"I-it's not me."
"I think it's me Sirius." James muttered.
The rest of the night played out similarly. After they had looked for the alarm, whilst Sirius groaned from his bed, they'd attempt to fall back to sleep only to be woken sometimes only seconds after by the piercing sounds again. At around 6am they thought they had caught a break, they were all lying in Sirius' bed, feeling glad five minutes had passed and no alarm had disturbed them. Just as James began to snore, Remus began to mutter and Peter began to drool a new alarm went off.
"Fuck this."
After this alarm they decided to stay awake and at least try and prepare for the Friday. Maybe they could head down to breakfast early and come back for a nap before lessons or maybe they could just fall asleep on the table. Whether it was due to them being overtired or if they just hadn't worked it out, the boys hadn't seemed to work out a prank was happening.
"I don't get why they all went off like that." James was pulling his jumper over his head.
"I didn't even know we had that many clocks in here." Sirius was massaging his head whilst sat on his bed.
"RIGHT WHO WAS IT." Remus shouted, "ouch, too loud."
"Who was what Moony?" James was now combing his messy curls.
"This." Remus shook a torn piece of parchment in his hand. "Who ate some of my chocolate then left only the word sorry beside it."
"Wasn't me." James shrugged.
"You really think I'd apologise for doing that?" Sirius laughed almost like a bark from where he sat.
"Um, guys. I can't find my shoes." A mumbled voice came from underneath Peters bed.
"Strange neither can I." James pushed his glasses up his nose and began to look around the floor.
"We really need to clean this room guys." Remus sighed, he too couldn't find his shoes and was too tired to bother going through the piles of clothes.
"Fuck sake where are my shoes." Sirius groaned, clearly he hadn't listened to the conversation the rest just had. Remus looked to the clock and noticed the time.
"Guys, if we don't go now we will be late for breakfast and then we definitely won't be able to have a nap." Grabbing his shoes from the previous night, Remus popped them on. But clearly James, Sirius & Peter had other ideas.
"LAST ONE TO THE HALL HAS THE ROTTEN DRAGON EGG." Sirius bounded over the top of Remus' bed, barefooted.
"Uh uh, not me." James began to grab onto the back of Sirius' cloak to yank him backwards.
"I. Need. Breakfast." Peter was scrambling to reach the door, puffing for breath from the short sprint. Remus knew just to stand back and observe, there was no point in trying to shove his way through.
The three boys reached the door simultaneously, body parts wrapped around each other's. Sirius grabbed the door handle first and yanked it open. Just as he stepped out, with James & Peter still grabbing on to him, a tear of parchment was heard. A dung bomb dropped. Pink paint followed. And some beautiful golden glitter topped it all off.

"Do you think something went wrong?" Ophelia asked whilst impatiently tapping her foot beneath the table.
"No I think the opposite, it's 7:45am and the marauders never miss breakfast all together. If they miss it you'll normally still find one of them here." Lily explained. Ophelia felt a splatter of milk hit her on the cheek, turning to the direction it came from she saw Marlene wiping milk from around her lips.
"I think you'll find it worked perfectly." Marlene was smirking. The other three girls turned their heads to where Marlene was focusing on to be greeted with an incredible sight.
Up front was James and Sirius, both of their uniforms stained almost entirely pink, even their hair. Specks of glitter covered patches of their clothing. Peter was close behind he was mainly covered in glitter and Remus was at the back, he was still pink and gold but rather in splatters than covered.
James and Sirius had their heads down at first but once James spotted the attention they were getting his big ego overtook and he was yelling things like - "thank you, thank you, I know we look ravishing." Every so often bowing towards students who watched. Sirius carried on with his head down, looking rather sulky. Peter had his hands in his pockets and his head was down too, but he had a small smile on his face - he secretly liked the attention he was getting. Whispers could be heard all through out the hall with comments such as:
"They stink."
"Is this part of one of their pranks?"
"Why are they pink?"
"Oh god what is that smell?" Marlene flapped her hand in front of her nose dramatically as the marauders took their usual seats beside the girls. The boys didn't answer. "Wait where are your shoes?" Marlene pointed at Sirius' bare feet beneath the table, Ophelia had to stifle a laugh at this comment.
"Pass us the cereal Marlene." Sirius asked, completely ignoring Marlene's questions.
"Why did you choose the colour pink today?" Marlene was holding the cereal just out of reach from Sirius.
"Give it here, I'm not in the mood." Sirius yanked the cereal from her hand.
"You gonna tell us what happened grumpy pants?" Marlene was not afraid to keep pushing their buttons it was clear.
"Milk." Sirius pointed at the milk, again ignoring the question.
"Only if you tell us what happened."
"Fine, we were pranked." Sirius whispered almost inaudible.
"Sorry I didn't hear that."
"We. Were. Pranked." Sirius repeated at a more general tone.
"Wait I think I misunderstood you, you'll have to say it one more time."
"OH FOR FUCK SAKE MCKINNON. WE WERE PRANKED." Sirius slammed his hands down beside him and all attention in the hall was now back at the Gryffindor table. Even the staff table had completely gone silent and their eyes bore on the group. No one had succeeded in pranking the Marauders, this was sure to go down in Hogwarts history.
"Mr Black." Professor McGonagall stood from her chair and began to walk around the staff table towards them. Ophelia spotted this and knew that she only had two minutes maximum before Minnie reached them.
Ophelia wanted the boys to realise it was her who pranked them otherwise it would feel pretty pointless. But how could she tell them? Looking back at where Minnie was and to the Marauders Ophelia noticed they were all eating cereal, so sneaking out her wand she pointed towards their area and whispered "glacius". An icy cold blue light shot from the tip of Ophelia's wand and froze all of the boys cereal along with other items on their area of the table.
"You." James looked at Ophelia with his mouth wide open whilst still gripping on to his frozen spoon.
"What?" Ophelia looked at them with an innocent smile.
"YOU!" James now stood from his seat. Sirius seemed to catch on to what was happening and mimicked James' action. "IT WAS YOU!"
"Took you long enough James." Ophelia winked, James and Sirius stared in shock at Ophelia. A mix of amazement and embarrassment. Peter was still staring at his bowl, trying to work out how he could continue to eat his cereal whilst Remus looked like he was trying to suppress a smile. "I see Remus was the only one sensible enough to just wear his shoes from last night."
"Oh you're going to get it." James was shoving the plates aside the table and began to climb on top.
"I'd run if I was you Ophelia." Remus remarked.
"TRAITOR!" Sirius yelled and leant forward to grab Ophelia. Ophelia took this as the moment to run, at first she started at a jog until she could feel them catch up so she switched into a sprint.
"MR BLACK. MR POTTER. GET BACK HERE AND STOP CHASING MISS MCGONAGALL." Minnie shrieked, she had just reached where they were formerly sat. She knew the reason they were chasing Ophelia was because she had pranked them but she couldn't deny she was enjoying the show.
"SORRY MINNIE, MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO." James yelled as he skidded out the door.
"SEE YOU IN DETENTION LATER MINNIE." Sirius had stopped to salute the lady a the door before turning on his heels to sprint after Ophelia.
A chuckle beside Minnie made her look back.
"It seems, Miss McGonagall has a mischievous side to her." Professor Dumbledore remarked, a glint in his eye.
"It seems that way indeed." Minnie was trying to hold back a smile.
"Scourgify." Dumbledore cleared Remus and Peter from all prank debris without his wand. "I think we shall leave Mr Potter and Mr Black a little longer. I would say until their Transfiguration lesson would suffice."
"Oh you are cruel Albus, but yes. I think it's the least they deserve." Minnie turned on her small heels to return back to her breakfast but couldn't help but spot the huge smile sat on Remus' face. She just hoped Ophelia was prepared for the war she had began.

Ok that was fun and hard to write! It ended up being so long I didn't want to split it again though so thought it was best to leave it all on one chapter!!
QOTC - did you like the prank!
My Answer - I liked it at first but now I'm not sure it was very good 😂
