A blood curdling scream that travelled with the speed and force required the break the sound barrier shook the trees rooted to the soil of the Earth.

Their eyes shot up and what they saw made their feet tremble and their spin run cold.

"H-Hayden?" Cameron asked, his eyes locked with hers as he backed away slowly, trying not to break contact.

From the thick tree trunk the girl who he believed was his sister stood  on all fours, her fur standing on the end. Her slit, golden eyes showed a whole variety of emotions, none of them being humanity.

"I-I thought that you were dead." Cameron said, afraid of making the wrong move. The moon was on her side.

A low growl escaped the jaws of the mighty beast that stood in front of him, standing at a whopping six feet. His tall stature didn't give him the advantage as she was the one with the claws.

"You can be the alpha! Just please, let me go!" Cameron pleaded, his voice cracking at his desperation.

On any normal day, she would have taken him up on that offer. Today was anything but normal. She sprang from where she stood as her big, black wolf stood on top of Cameron, ready to take a bite.

She knew she was going to regret it, but at that moment, it didn't matter.

A sudden, loud wail much like the previous one filled the forest, it's echo ringing like a bell.

Cameron laid still at his spot, too afraid to open his eyes and see the inevitable. A second wail reached his ear when he decided to open his eyes. In front of his eyes lay his sister, with a wound on her abdomen. 

He was never the kind to help her, why would he start now?

He got back up to his feet, scurrying his way out of the forest, his heart beating faster than ever as he tripped on rocks that just sat in there, without a purpose.

His heart let out a sigh of relief as he saw his pack members looking at him with worry,

"What happened to him?" one of them asked with fear in his eyes.

"I-I don't know." Cameron said, ashamed of himself.

"How did she do it?" the same guy asked again, leaving Cameron without words.

"I don't know."

He turned his back, paranoia rushing through his veins. Was Hayden alive or was she dead? The majority of him hoped for the latter. He couldn't have someone better than him in the pack.

"I don't know how she did it," one of the pack member started "but she is a threat to all of us."

"Whatever it takes. To save our pack."

Cameron's eyes wandered, still looking for Hayden. Realising that  she was nowhere near them, he knew this was the right time to make his move.

"Hayden Montgomery must die."
