Isla's head wandered around, thinking of multiple things at once. Her brain had a lot that it wanted about, but it was stuck in only one, profound memory. It replayed her memories from this afternoon, while also strategizing simultaneously.

"What do you have against them?" Isla asked when she heard the coven's name. The coven held a high reputation, therefore it was no surprise to her that someone would hate that about them.

Even so, it didn't stop her from questioning Valerie.

"That doesn't matter. What matters is that you get it done and I will aid you." Valerie said. Her speech was confident, for she knew that she had the upper hand.

"You are not in the position to decide what matters. The only reason you asked for my aid is that you can't do it yourself." Isla said, craving for answers.

"I can just as easily persuade Hayden," Isla began, her face only inches away from Isla's, "You on the other hand do."

"Fine." Isla said, groaning "I'll get it done."

She couldn't just order the pack. They lacked an alpha, which meant that they were free to do whatever they please before they found someone to take the role. She looked at the dome of the pack-house one last time before she made her way to the other pack members.

I have to do it, she told herself, closing her hands as a way of reassuring herself.

"Where were you, Isla?" a dark-haired male, almost twice her height questioned.

"Looking for Hayden." she replied quickly as she realized that taking too long would look suspicious.

"Why would you do that?" he questioned, skeptical because of her immediate and flustered response.

"She killed both our alphas. She must pay." Isla replied, plastering a serious look on her face. As soon as she said that, it was as if all her answers had been solved. Looking at his face caused her lips to widen into a smirk of the devils.

She patted herself on her back, proud of what she was going to do.

"What did you find?" he asked her.

"She is living under the protection of a coven." Isla said.

"Are you sure you have got it right?" he asked, thirsting for the blood of the abomination.

"I'm positive. The Houston's are on her side." she said.

She noticed the fire in his eyes and knew that she was already halfway there. The coven wouldn't obey her, but they would definitely obey him.

Why manipulate everyone when you only need to manipulate one? she asked herself with pride. He grabbed her hand with his gigantic palms, dragging her along with him as they made their way towards the rest of the pack.

"I know where the traitor is!" he screamed, turning everyone's attention towards them. While some of the men and women rolled their eyes, the other seemed eager to listen to what he had to say.

"The Houston's are protecting Hayden." he said. The seven words that he said were enough to turn everyone's attention towards him.

"Are you sure?" someone amongst the crowd questioned, while the other stood in worry. The Houston's held a high reputation and most of it was because of their power.

"I am certain. I saw her there with my own eyes and when I investigated further, I was sure that they are working together." he said.

Taking the credit. How typical, Isla thought but she wasn't nearly as annoyed as she would be. Since he claimed that he witnessed it, the pack was bound to believe him.

"What do we do now?" she heard a voice ask. She needed to suggest their elimination but doing it at that moment would be abrupt, making her all the more suspicious.

"We must eliminate Hayden, no matter what!" he exclaimed. All that he wanted was to avenge The alpha and Cameron, even though they never saw him as more than a loyal mutt.

"We have to get through the Houston's first!" 

"And the full moon will not come for another month." Isla stated, trying to sound opposed to the idea.

"We can't let her get away with it!" he exclaimed.

"What are you suggesting?" the medic asked, walking up to him.

"He is suggesting that we eliminate the Houston's." Isla said, knowing that the clod was moving the way she wanted him to.

"But they are witches! We are no match to them on a non-full moon night!" one of the older wolves exclaimed, creating an uproar in the house. The mutts were emphasizing why this has to be done while the only few sensible members denied it.

The noise they created was loud enough to make her ears bleed. She rubbed her temples in annoyance as she watched the other wolves tear their throats apart. She made her way out of the room, walking towards Cameron's room, knowing that it was the best room in the whole house.

The closer she went towards his room, the more muffled the wolves' voices became, which made her more than just relieved.

She shut the door quietly and plopped herself onto his soft, mattress with neatly folded comforters. It appeared that someone cleaned up after his demise. Although the walls weren't nearly as flawless as they were before he claimed the room, it was an improvement.

She laid her head on the pillow and stared at the ceiling. She knew all too well that if they challenged the Houston's the casualties will be against them. Even if the full moon showed mercy on them and rose for the second time, their chances were pretty slim.

There was only a seven percent chance that things could go her way.

A minority of the pack was against it for the same reason but when you are surrounded by a pack of fools, you are likely to get swayed. 

Is this worth it? was the only question she had in her head. If it worked, she would have Valerie by her side and she might as well become the alpha. But what is the use of being alpha without a pack?

Her thoughts came to a sudden halt as she focused on the knock that resonated from the door. She cleared her throat and opened her mouth to acknowledge him.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Hayden dies tonight."
