An AU where Izuku has Hanahaki, but after seeing/hearing/reading about multiple cases where people have their feelings returned he has full confidence that it will happen to him too.

It doesn't.

The person he has a crush on doesn't know about his hanahaki and even if they did they don't reciprocate his feelings.

After the rejection (and the person immediately leaving because of the awkward situation) the flowers and vines in Izuku's lungs begin to grow more rapidly leading to him coughing up extream amounts of blood and petals that cause him to choke.

He ends up passing out, someone luckily finds him in time before he dies and he gets taken to a hospital where they perform indecency surgery on him to remove everything from his lungs.

His class finds out what happened a few days later after Izuku had missed school for awhile. Izuku is still in the hospital.

The person Izuku confessed to feels guilty for doing that to him and begins to blame themself, they still don't return his (no longer existent) feelings.

After Izuku gets released and notices the toll his hospitalization has had on his class mate he confronts them about their state. The self blame and everything come out, and Izuku comforts them by telling them that it's not their fault that they didn't like him. He doesn't blame them at all.

Izuku and the other person will not end up together in this, ideal if I'll have a ship for Izuku, I might I might not we'll see.

Feel free to leave ideas/suggestions for this.

Who should the other person be? I'm thinking possibly one of the girls (form either 1-A, 1- B, or Hatsume) or Kirishima, but I'm open to suggestions.

I don't really want to make the other person Bakugou, but its doable.
