Your baby's first word
~ Zarkon ~
While you were in the bathroom Zarkon was in the nursery with Gatrea, trying to have some father-daughter bonding time. Gatrea spent pretty much all of her time with you and Zarkon felt left out. He was worried that his and your daughter hated him for some reason. Lately Gatrea had been more vocal, and according to you, she was at the age where she would be saying her first word. Gatrea seemed a little nervous to be alone with him, but Zarkon figured that it was only because you weren't in the same room.
"Gatrea." Zarkon said as he looked down at his daughter who was sitting across from him on the nursery floor.
Gatrea looked up at her father when she heard him call her name, curious of what he wanted. She tilted her head slightly to one side, something that she picked up from Sendak, aka her favorite honorary uncle.
"Say papa." Zarkon purred once he was sure he had Gatrea's attention.
Gatrea kind of understood what her father wanted, but she decided to pretend to be clueless. Zarkon was determined to bond with her, even if it killed him. Gatrea giggled when she saw her father make a grumpy face.
"Come on, Gatrea, say papa. Don't you love me, your own father?" Zarkon questioned his daughter, feeling more frustrated than before.
Gatrea's laughter caused her to fall onto the boppy pillow behind her, causing her to laugh some more. Zarkon huffed, ready to give up; obviously Gatrea loved you more than she loved him. After a few minutes Gatrea stopped laughing, sitting back up as Zarkon huffed for a second time.
"P-p-p-pa-pa-" Gatrea babbled, trying to sound out her first word.
"Yes? Yes?" Zarkon asked in anticipation, feeling excited for what his daughter was about to say.
"Pa-pa-pa-papa." Gatrea finally got out, putting the two syllables together and saying her first word.
"That's my perfect little princess! I knew that you loved me!" Zarkon said happily as he carefully picked Gatrea up and slowly twirled around.
Gatrea laughed happily as her father slowly twirled himself and her around. Zarkon was so happy that Gatrea's first word was 'papa'; for once, he felt like she loved him. When you walked into the nursery and saw Zarkon slowly twirling around with Gatrea, causing her to laugh, you were a little confused.
"Did I miss something?" You questioned your husband curiously, wishing that you knew what you missed out on.
"Y/n, Gatrea finally said her first word!" Zarkon exclaimed with excitement, stopping his twirling so that he could look at you.
"What? I missed it? What did she say?" You asked in pure shock, wishing that you had been around to hear it.
"Alright Gatrea, who am I?" Zarkon asked Gatrea, trying to sound calm despite how excited he was.
"Papa." Gatrea said as she looked at her father, a big smile on her face.
"She loves me!" Zarkon declared with pure joy.
"Of course she does; she is our daughter, after all. She's our smart little girl." You said proudly, looking at Gatrea.
Gatrea saw you, but for the first time, she was content in her father's arms. You were happy that she wasn't fussing because Zarkon was holding her; it was an improvement. Zarkon gently hugged his adorable daughter, purring happily. Gatrea tried to copy his purring, albeit a little choppy. Now that she felt more secure in her father's arms, you would finally have some freedom to do some things that you really wanted to do.

~ Alfor ~
Being the King of Altea could sometimes be stressful, so today Alfor was taking you and Lotarius to the perfect picnic place that was on a small planet in the Dalterion belt. You and Alfor made a picnic lunch together and you got the diaper bag ready. This was Lotarius' very first trip off of Altea, so it was a big deal. You couldn't wait to finally go on a day trip with your husband and son.
"Do we have everything?" You asked Alfor once you put Lotarius in his stroller.
"We have the picnic basket, lunch, drinks, blanket, diaper bag, everything you packed in it and Lotarius. I believe we're ready." Alfor told you, listing everything that was needed.
"Okay, we're ready." You said happily, putting the diaper bag into the basket that sat on the underside of the stroller.
Alfor smiled as he picked up the picnic basket before leading you out of the kitchen, through the hallways and outside. Lotarius babbled happily as you pushed the stroller while following Alfor, wondering where the three of you were going. His curiosity grew once the three of you were outside, heading towards where the Red Lion was kneeling down after sensing her Paladin. Alfor stopped walking ahead of you so that he could walk next to you.
"I-i-i-" Lotarius babbled happily when he saw his father's lion.
"Don't worry, our little prince; we'll be there before we know it." Alfor assured his and your son as he glanced down at him.
"I-i-io-ion! Ion!" Lotarius said with excitement, pointing to the Red Lion.
Both you and Alfor stopped walking when Lotarius tried saying 'lion', unsure if he actually said it or not. The second time he said it, it was enough for the two of you to confirm that he said his first word.
"Did you hear that, Y/n? Lotarius said lion." Alfor said proudly, a big smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Yes, I did. He's taking after you." You said fondly, smiling softly at your husband.
Alfor leaned down and pressed his lips against yours, softly kissing you. Both of you were so proud of Lotarius for finally saying his very first word. After a few short moments you and Alfor broke away from the kiss and started walking over to the Red Lion again, ready to go. Lotarius was just excited that he was going to go for a flight in his father's lion with both of his parents.

~ Blaytz ~
Iris was becoming very active as of late and more vocal. She was at the age where she would be saying her first word, and being the doting parents you and Blaytz were, encouraged her to talk; it was only a matter of time before she said her first word. One evening in particular while you and Blaytz were getting ready to give Iris a bath you noticed how she kept fussing whenever you tried lowering her down into the warm water as it filled the bottom of the tub.
"What's wrong, little cutie?" Blaytz asked Iris, baby talking to her.
Iris pointed over to the bathroom shelf where the bubble bath was stored. You and Blaytz looked to where she was pointing, unsure of what she wanted. Blaytz seemed more confused than you were.
"B-b-bu-bubb-bubbe! Bubbe!" Iris said, sounding the word 'bubble' out before saying it a second time, still pointing to the bottle of bubble bath mix.
"What was that?" You questioned Iris, not sure if you heard her right or not.
"Bubbe." Iris said again, an annoyed look appearing on her face.
You and Blaytz were so proud of Iris for saying her first word. You thought that she was going to say 'mama' or 'dada' first, but 'bubble' was an okay-ish first word, but also kinda cute at the same time. Blaytz was over the moon happy that she said her first word; he didn't care that it was 'bubble'.
"As our cute little princess commands." Blaytz said as he got up and grabbed the bottle of bubble bath mix, opening it and pouring a little into the stream of water that was flowing out of the faucet.
"Good job, Iris." You praised proudly, kissing her on the forehead.
Iris was a lot happier that her father put some bubbles into her bath. Once the water was at the desired depth, Blaytz turned the water off and put a few bath toys in. Iris was more willing to cooperate now that there were bubbles in the water. She giggled and splashed a little after you lowered her into the tub.

~ Gyrgan ~
When Adu started being more vocal, you and Gyrgan knew that he was going to say his first word soon. You wanted him to say 'mama' while Gyrgan wanted him to say 'papa'. It was only a matter of time before he started talking. However, he was going to start talking sooner than either of you expected.
"Okay, Adu, open up~." You said as you held a spoonful of pear flavored baby food.
Adu opened his mouth wide, accepting the delicious food that you were feeding him. Gyrgan was leaning against a counter, smiling as he watched you feeding Adu. Adu was growing so much, which meant that he was eating more, too. After you fed Adu one last spoonful of food he looked down at the bowl and saw that it was empty.
"M-m-m-." Adu babbled, trying to say his very first word.
"Boo bear, he's trying to say his first word!" You said with excitement, looking back at your husband for a moment, a huge smile on his face.
"I think that I know what he's going to say." Gyrgan added, thinking that Adu was going to say 'mama', and it made him just as excited as you were, even though he wasn't going to say 'papa'.
"M-mo-mo-more." Adu sounded out, looking directly at you with a pleading look.
"What?" You asked, wondering if you heard him correctly.
"Did… Did he just say 'more'?" Gyrgan questioned in confusion, looking at you for confirmation.
"I think so." You answered, looking at your husband.
"Mo-more?" Adu asked you curiously, still hungry; he was a growing baby, after all.
You and Gyrgan gave each other a look, hearing Adu ask for more food again. You both silently agreed, but he was only getting half a jar more. You both walked over to where the baby food was being stored, chose a flavor and put half of the jar into the bowl. This time though, Gyrgan was going to feed him.
"Okay, Adu, you can have more." Gyrgan told his son as he knelt down in front of the high chair, scooping some baby food up with the spoon before offering it to Adu.
Adu let out an excited scream, happy that he was getting fed more food. You smiled as you watched your husband feeding your son before putting the newly opened jar of baby food into the fridge after putting the lid back on. You and Gyrgan were still happy that Adu at least said his first word, even though it wasn't one you both were expecting him to say.

~ Trigel ~
Almost every day after lunch either you or Trigel would read a book to Astrid to help her get sleepy enough for her nap. When you found a book of animals for babies at the Earth store at the Space Mall you bought it, knowing that Astrid would love it. So while you and Trigel sat on the couch together with Astrid sitting in between you two, you opened the book and held it where she could see it. Astrid liked it when you would make an animal sound every time you named an animal while pointing to it in the book.
"And this is a butterfly. It doesn't make a sound, but it's really pretty and it flies gracefully." You told Astrid, pointing to a picture of a monarch butterfly.
Astrid's eyes widened in awe as she looked at the picture of the butterfly, babbling as she reached forwards and touched the picture with her tiny hand. You and Trigel thought that it was super cute how she liked the butterfly picture.
"B-b-bu-bu-" Astrid babbled, nearly sounding out her first word.
You and Trigel looked at each other before looking down at Astrid in anticipation. She had been getting closer to saying her first word, but so far she hadn't said it yet. You had a feeling that you knew what she was going to say and so did Trigel.
"Bu-but-butte-buttefwy!" Astrid said with excitement as she pointed to the butterfly picture.
"Awww!" You cooed, dying from cuteness overload; you weren't expecting your daughter to say such a cute first word.
"She's going to be our nature girl." Trigel gushed, looking like she was going to cry with happiness.
"Yes, she is." You agreed, smiling proudly at your daughter.
Astrid smiled as she looked up at you and Trigel, giggling adorably a little. You and Trigel were so proud of your daughter for saying her very first word. When you went back to reading the book Astrid looked at it again. It dawned on you why she was always so obsessed with the butterflies on the nursery wall. You made a mental note to find more picture books that had butterflies in them.
