Your baby's first birthday

~ Zarkon ~

It was officially Gatrea's first birthday, so you and Zarkon were having a big party for her. Each of the Paladins were coming by later and so were a couple of your friends, as well as Zarkon's trainees, for the party later. You and Zarkon set up a party for her in the living room and the Palace chef made a smash cake for her. You found the cutest little first birthday outfit for Gatrea, so after you put it on her, you brought her to the living room.

"Here's the birthday girl." You said as you carried Gatrea over to the little area where you set things up for a short photo shoot.

Zarkon stood up and turned around after he finished placing a purple balloon in a good place so that it would be a part of the photo background. You walked over to your husband while holding your daughter.

"Happy birthday, my little princess." Zarkon told Gatrea as he knelt down, holding his arms out.

"Papa!" Gatrea cooed happily as you handed her over to your husband.

"Are you ready to have cake?" Zarkon asked Gatrea when he saw the chef enter the room with the cake.

You took the opportunity to get your phone when the chef came into the room with the purple smash cake, placing it in the right place before promptly leaving. You turned your camera app on when Zarkon sat Gatrea down behind the cake.

"Go on, try it; it's yummy." You told Gatrea as you knelt down, pointing your phone at her.

Zarkon knelt down too, encouraging his daughter to try the cake. Gatrea looked at the cake with confusion before reaching forwards with both of her hands, trying to grab the cake. She made a startled yelp when frosting and cake got all over her hands. You were quick to take a picture before she flung the mess of frosting, accidentally flinging at Zarkon's face.

"Again with the food?" Zarkon deadpanned, wiping the sugar free purple icing off of his face with a finger, licking it off.

Gatrea watched her father eat the frosting before she looked down at the cake again. She reached forwards, only with her right hand, and grabbed some cake before she tried eating it. To her surprise, the cake was really good. She grabbed another handful and shoved it in her mouth, eating it.

"I think that she likes it." Zarkon commented as he watched Gatrea eat her cake, noticing how she licked her hands and wrists after eating the cake.

"Of course she does. At least she's trying not to get messy." You agreed, taking more pictures of her.

Zarkon scoffed, not exactly agreeing with you. You were getting some pretty good pictures of Gatrea as she not so messily ate her cake. She obviously didn't eat it all at once, of course, but she ate enough until she was full. You ended up having to wipe her face and hands off so that she wouldn't be sticky. All in all Gatrea had a fun first birthday, especially since she got to play with the balloons later.

~ Alfor ~

When it was Lotarius' first birthday you and Alfor arranged a birthday party for him. Earlier you both put him in a cute little outfit and let him eat a smash cake. You made sure to take plenty of pictures so that you would have memories. However, after cleaning him up, some of the guests began arriving. Coran and Melenor brought Allura to the party; Allura was just a little older than Lotarius and so far they were becoming friends.

A few of your friends came too, and it wasn't long before the other Paladins would arrive. At the moment, Lotarius and Allura were rolling a medium sized red rubber ball that was one of his gifts to each other as they sat on the living room floor. You and Melenor were sitting next to each other.

"It is nice to see that our children are becoming such good friends." Melenor commented as you both watched your children playing on the floor.

"Yeah, it is." You agreed, a huge smile appearing on your face as Lotarius and Allura babbled to each other.

While you and Melenor talked to each other, Coran and Alfor were doing the same thing. It wasn't long before Zarkon and Blaytz arrived, being shown in by one of the servants. Blaytz was carrying a gift, but Zarkon wasn't. You knew the meaning of gifts in Galran culture and so did everyone else.

"Where's the birthday boy?" Blaytz asked with excitement, a huge grin on his face.

"Welcome Blaytz; Zarkon. We're happy that you could make it." Alfor said happily, greeting the two Paladins as they walked into the living room.

"Where's Trigel and Gyrgan?" You asked Zarkon curiously, wondering where the other two Paladins were at.

"They'll be here soon." Zarkon told you as he sat on another one of the couches.

As Alfor greeted Zarkon, Blaytz put the gift he brought along with the other unopened presents that sat on the floor. He greeted Lotarius and Allura by lightly patting them on the head and telling them how big they were getting. He joined Zarkon on the couch, greeting you.

"So, he's one year old now?" Zarkon asked Alfor, unable to believe it.

"Yes, he is. He's becoming quite smart." Alfor confirmed proudly, looking down at his son.

"Children grow up so fast." Zarkon said to no one in particular, unable to believe it; he was an honorary uncle, after all.

Allura and Lotarius looked at the Black and Blue Paladins, noticing them before going back to playing. It wasn't long before your friends arrived, and then Gyrgan and Trigel shortly after. You were thankful that the party only included close friends, that way it wouldn't be too stressful for Lotarius and Allura. After a while it was time for Lotarius to open the rest of his presents, most of which he got to play with, with Allura.

~ Blaytz ~

Since it was Iris' first birthday you and Blaytz were throwing her a big birthday party. Each of the Paladins were coming to visit and so were some of your friends, a few of which also had babies around Iris' age. Seeing that Iris was an only child at the moment, you and Blaytz were spoiling her on her special day. Blaytz found her a super cute white and light blue first birthday outfit that came with accessories. You baked and decorated a smash cake, one of which you were about to give her.

Blaytz put Iris in her cute little outfit before bringing her to the kitchen and putting her in her highchair. Iris looked around the kitchen, her eyes landing on the light blue cake with gold sprinkles as you brought it over. Blaytz already had your camera app open so that you could take pictures. After you put the cake on the tray of the highchair, Blaytz handed your phone.

"Wha tha?" Iris asked you curiously, looking at the cake.

"It's a birthday cake." You answered, smiling at her and waiting to take pictures.

"It's all for you, birthday girl." Blaytz told Iris, a huge smile on his face; he was excited to finally be celebrating his daughter's first birthday.

Iris looked down at the cake, her feelers twitching. You watched her with anticipation, waiting for her to do something. However, what she did next surprised you, but it was super cute at the same time. Iris smashed her face in the cake, her mouth wide open. When she lifted her head up again, her face was covered in cake, frosting and golden sprinkles; Blaytz was dying of cuteness overload, and so were you as you took a few pictures.

"Yum yum yum." Iris babbled happily, loving the sugar free cake and icing.

"This is so cute." Blaytz gushed, watching as Iris grabbed a handful of cake and stuffing it into her mouth.

"I know." You agreed, taking another picture of your adorable daughter.

Iris giggled as she ate another handful of cake, looking directly at you as she chewed messily. Some of the cake and frosting was in her H/c hair and mostly covering her feelers. Some of the frosting spilled onto her shirt, so you would have to wipe it off.

"I can't believe that our little princess is already one. It feels like it was only yesterday you brought her into the world." Blaytz said in a sappy tone, sniffling as a few tears threatened to spill out of his eyes.

"Are you crying?" You asked your husband, smirking at him.

"Yes, I am; I can't help it. She's just growing up so quickly." Blaytz replied, not ashamed that he was crying tears of bittersweet happiness; he was happy that Iris was growing up, but he was sad that it was happening so fast.

"I know." You said in a slightly sad tone; he was right, she was growing up quickly.

Iris stopped eating cake after a while, feeling full and a little sleepy. Since you had taken enough pictures, you put your phone on the counter and took the cake so that you could put the rest on a cake plate. Blaytz cleaned Iris' face, hands and wiped her shirt off before taking her out of the highchair. You watched as Blaytz carried her out of the kitchen, taking her to the nursery. Iris needed her afternoon nap, but afterwards when everyone arrived, the party would finally start.

~ Gyrgan ~

It was officially Adu's first birthday, so you and Gyrgan were throwing him a birthday party. There were presents, balloons and snacks in the living room. The guests would be arriving later, but at the moment you and Gyrgan were sitting on one of the couches while Adu was trying to figure out how to open a medium sized present that was wrapped in white wrapping paper with yellow balloons on it. He was a little confused about what exactly he was supposed to do with the wrapped box.

"Go on Adu, you can do it." Gyrgan cheered Adu on, wanting his son to learn how to open presents.

You sat next to your husband, holding your phone as you took pictures. When Adu finally figured out how to open the present he tipped the box over, finding a teddy bear with a yellow bow tie. He grabbed the teddy bear, hugging it against his chest once he got it out of the box.

"Tank chu!" Adu said happily as he looked up at you and Gyrgan, showing you both his new stuffed toy.

"Did you get him that?" Gyrgan queried, looking at you.

"Yes; I couldn't help it." You confirmed, smiling softly as you looked at your husband.

You and Gyrgan turned your attention back to Adu when he reached for another present, now knowing how to open it. You took a picture as he started tearing the wrapping paper with excitement, wanting to find out what surprise was waiting inside. Adu was having the time of his life opening presents, but you knew that he was going to love the cake you made for him. You were a little sad that he was growing up so quickly, and so was Gyrgan, but you both were also happy to see him grow and learn new things.

~ Trigel ~

When Astrid's first birthday came, you and Trigel got everything ready the day before. Trigel was in the kitchen getting breakfast ready while you woke Astrid up. A cute little birthday outfit sat on top of the dresser, ready to be worn. Astrid woke up when you walked into the nursery and opened the curtains.

"Happy birthday, Astrid." You said quietly as you lifted your daughter out of her crib, holding her.

"Ma-mama?" Astrid asked groggily, smiling when she saw you.

You smiled as you kissed her forehead, laying her on the changing table. You quickly changed and dressed Astrid, taking her to the bathroom so that you could brush her hair and teeth. Astrid woke up fairly quickly, wondering what was going on. Trigel was done making breakfast and setting the table by the time you brought Astrid to the dining room.

"Good morning and happy birthday, Astrid." Trigel said happily as she walked over to you and Astrid, hugging the two of you.

Astrid, who was now more awake, saw a bowl of cut up waffle and strawberry pieces, one of her favorite breakfasts. You put her in the highchair and put a bib on her before you and Trigel sat down, giving Astrid her breakfast, but not wanting her outfit to get messy.

"Nummy!" Astrid said as she started eating, picking up her food with her right hand and stuffing it into her face.

"I'm glad you like it." Trigel told her, happy that her daughter loved the food.

"After breakfast you can open your presents." You told Astrid, knowing that she would like everything you and Trigel got for her.

Astrid looked at you and smiled, her face a little messy from the strawberries, a few waffle pieces stuck to her face. The previous night you and Trigel decorated the living room with a birthday banner and balloons. You both put the presents on the floor near the couch, that way Astrid would be in the perfect place for picture taking. You knew that she would love her smash cake, too. The other Paladins and your friends would be coming later, but for now you were just happy to enjoy a nice, quiet breakfast with your wife and daughter.
