When your oldest helps with one of their younger siblings

~ Zarkon ~

A couple of days after giving birth to your sixth daughter, you were given the go ahead to leave the infirmary after Haggar made sure that you were going to be alright. The two of you agreed to name the newest addition to your family Angela since Zarkon thought that it was a beautiful name that was worthy of a princess. All of your daughters absolutely loved having an adorable baby sister that they could dress up in cute clothes. One afternoon a couple of weeks after Angela was born, you were feeling a little overwhelmed; four of your older daughters needed your help with something at the same time you needed to feed Angela. Normally Zarkon would have helped you, but at the moment he and Black were needed to form Voltron.

Dayak was able to help three of your daughters, but Zara still needed your help. Having six daughters could be extremely stressful at times, but you loved them all no matter what. Gatrea noticed how stressed you were getting and decided to help by helping Zara. She found her younger sister in the nursery while you were feeding Angela.

"But mom, I really need your help right now." Zara pleaded as she stood in front of where you were sitting.

"I know, but Angela needs to be fed and afterwards she'll need to be changed. You're going to have to wait." You told Zara as calmly as you could, not wanting to startle your youngest daughter as she suckled from your left breast.

Zara huffed and crossed her arms over her chest, pouting a little. Gatrea, who had been passing by the nursery at the time, heard everything and wanted to help. You looked up from Angela and Zara turned around when she walked into the nursery.

"What do you need help with, Zara?" Gatrea asked her younger sister, wondering why she needed your help so badly.

"I'm really hungry for some ice cream, but it's too high to reach and I can't find the step stool." Zara explained after walking over to her older sister, feeling frustrated.

"I can help you." Gatrea offered after Zara spoke, glancing at you for permission.

Zara smiled and walked over to her older sister, happy that (someone) was able to help her. You nodded your head at Gatrea, giving her permission to help Zara get the ice cream. Gatrea already knew to only give her younger sister two scoops, so she led her younger sister out of the nursery. You were thankful that Gatrea was old enough to help out with her younger siblings when you were already busy and Zarkon was away. After feeding, changing and putting Angela down for her nap, you were finally able to rest for a little while.

~ Alfor ~

One evening after dinner, Fallara went to go play with her dolls in her bedroom. However, when she got to her bedroom and walked over to her dollhouse, she couldn't find her favorite doll anywhere. She was almost positive that she left her favorite doll sitting on the little doll couch, but she wasn't there. Fallara began looking everywhere in her room; she looked under her bed, and on the top of her bookshelf, and on the windowsill, but her doll wasn't anywhere. After several minutes of searching, Fallara decided to go ask someone if they had seen her doll anywhere; the first person she saw was her big brother, Lotarius.

"Hello Fallara, is something wrong?" Lotarius asked his younger sister when he saw the troubled look on her face.

"Yes, something is wrong. Bellina's missing and I can't find her anywhere. I've looked all over in my bedroom, but she isn't in there." Fallara explained, feeling sad since she couldn't find her doll.

"Isn't Bellina your favorite doll?" Lotarius queried in a curious tone; his sister had a lot of dolls, so it was easy to lose track of which one was which.

"Yes. I just want to find her." Fallara replied, feeling as though she was going to cry; she really missed Bellina.

"Don't worry, Fallara, I'll help you find her." Lotarius told his younger sister, not wanting to see her cry.

Fallara sniffled, thanking her brother for helping her find her favorite doll. Lotarius thought for a moment about where a doll would be, and he came to the conclusion that the doll in question might be in the living room; sometimes toys got left in there after being played with. Fallara followed Lotarius down a few hallways before reaching the living room. You and Alfor were sitting and talking to each other on the couch and Alazu was busy playing a game on a holopad.

"Hey you two, are you looking for something?" You asked your son and your oldest daughter when they walked into the living room and began searching for something.

"I'm helping Fallara find her favorite doll. Bellina's lost." Lotarius answered, not looking at you due to looking underneath the coffee table.

You smiled, and so did Alfor; you both were proud of Lotarius for helping Fallara find her favorite doll. Fallara looked near the tv stand while Lotarius looked underneath all of the furniture. After searching under the furniture, he began looking on the bookshelves. And, lo and behold, Bellina was on one of the bottom shelves next to the coloring books and crayons.

"Fallara, I found Bellina." Lotarius announced when he found his sister's doll and held it up, a wide smile spreading across his face.

"You found her! Thank you so much!" Fallara said happily as she walked over to her older brother and tightly hugged him.

"You're welcome." Lotarius spoke, a little out of breath due to being hugged so tightly by his sister.

As you and Alfor watched Lotarius find Fallara's doll, you both couldn't have been prouder of him for helping her. After thanking her older brother once again, Lotarius gave Fallara her doll and she headed towards her bedroom. Lotarius, who had previously been heading to the observation deck in the Castle, continued his way to his destination. Meanwhile, Fallara felt a little silly for forgetting that her doll was in the living room, but she also felt lucky to have such a nice older brother who helped her.

~ Blaytz ~

One day after you and Blaytz brought your kids home from school, they were disappointed that they couldn't go outside and play due to the bad weather; there was a storm coming and you didn't want them out in it. The storm that was passing through was similar to a thunderstorm, so your kids and your husband rushed to the large window in the living room when it started, wanting to watch it. Despite seeing many thunderstorms while you lived on Earth, you decided to watch the storm with your family. Thunder was heard from above and you could see lightning occasionally streak through the clouds.

"Mom, why are there lights in the sky?" Brisa asked you with curiosity, tilting her head slightly to the left.

"That's called lightning, sweetie; it's basically wild electricity." You told Brisa, not wanting to explain in detail what lightning was.

Brisa looked outside again in awe when she saw more lightning light up the sky. You thought that all of your kids were enjoying the show, but you didn't realize that Lyra was actually scared. A louder boom was heard overhead a few moments later, causing Lyra to scream and run away from the window. You, Blaytz and your other children watched as she ran out of the living room. Before either you or Blaytz could do anything, Iris calmly walked out of the living room, wanting to comfort Lyra.

You and Blaytz looked at each other, both of you silently agreeing to let Iris handle the situation since she was old enough. While you and the rest of your family kept watching the storm outside, Iris walked all the way to Lyra's room. When she arrived at her destination, she heard Lyra sobbing while hiding under a blanket on her bed.

"Lyra, it's me, Iris. Are you okay?" Iris calmly asked her younger sister as she walked into the room and sat on the edge of the bed.

"N-n-no!" Lyra stammered, peeking out from under her blanket.

"I know that you're afraid of the storm, it's actually a little scary, but it can't hurt you in here." Iris told Lyra, sitting further up on the bed since she wasn't wearing shoes.

"I hate the storm! I hate it!" Lyra cried out in fear; her body was trembling under the blanket when more thunder was heard outside.

"I know. If you want, I can read you your favorite book." Iris calmly offered, willing to do anything to help her younger sister calm down.

"O-okay." Lyra quietly answered, sniffling as she looked up at her older sister.

Iris smiled as she got off of the bed, walking over to the small bookshelf and grabbing Lyra's favorite story book before getting up on the bed again. Lyra waited for Iris to sit on the bed before she sat up, wrapping the blanket around herself. Iris opened the book to its first page when Lyra sat next to her, beginning to read the story. Lyra tried focusing on the story and before she knew it, she didn't feel as scared as she had before. She felt lucky to have such a wonderful older sister who read to her. Meanwhile, you and Blaytz were proud of Iris helping Lyra calm down during the storm.

~ Gyrgan ~

One day after your kids came home from school, you and Gyrgan decided to take them to the best ice cream parlor on Rygnirath. Most of the flavors were foreign to you, but there were a few newer flavors that included your favorite from Earth. All three of your kids loved going out for ice cream with you and their father, but most of all they loved going out for ice cream on a hot day. After you handed each of your kids their ice cream cones, Gyrgan paid for all of the ice cream before the five of you went outside to eat.

"Thank you for taking us here, mom and dad." Gemma told you and Gyrgan as she licked her ice cream, enjoying its deliciously cold flavor.

"Yes, thank you." Adu added, his stomach growling as he looked at his ice cream cone; it was almost too beautiful to eat.

"Yeah, thank you." Gavin added after his older brother, ready to eat his own ice cream.

You and Gyrgan were happy to have been able to have a day out with your kids at the ice cream parlor; it was such a hot day, but the ice cream made it better. You hummed in satisfaction when you started eating your ultimate favorite kind of ice cream, loving how cold and sweet it tasted. Right as Gavin took the first lick of his ice cream, he accidentally loosened his grip and his ice cream cone fell onto the ground. You, Gyrgan, Adu and Gemma watched as Gavin lost his ice cream, all four of you feeling bad for him.

"My ice cream…" Gavin sniffled, his bottom lip trembling as a few tears escaped the corners of his eyes.

"Don't cry, Gavin. You can have my ice cream." Adu offered his younger brother, not wanting him to be sad.

"Are you sure?" Gavin questioned in surprise, looking up at his older brother with wide, E/c eyes.

"Yes, I'm sure. I don't mind." Adu reassured Gavin, holding his ice cream cone out.

Gavin humbly thanked Adu before taking his older brother's ice cream cone, happy that he had such a kind older brother. Adu had been looking forward to eating his ice cream, but he really didn't want to see his younger brother sad about losing his own ice cream cone. For a child, it was a big deal when they sacrificed their ice cream when their younger sibling lost theirs; you and Gyrgan were proud of your oldest son for giving his ice cream to Gavin. Gyrgan went back inside of the ice cream parlor, only to come back out a few moments later with more ice cream for Adu. Adu was happy that he would get to have ice cream, but he was also happy that he cheered his younger brother up by sharing with him.

~ Trigel ~

After Harlow was born, you, Trigel and your children all loved her very much. Trigel wanted Harlow to be breastfeed and drink out of a bottle, which meant she used a breast pump so that she could store some of the milk she was producing. For the first time in her entire life Trigel was experiencing postpartum depression, so you were doing everything to help your wife through it, just as she did when you went through it. One afternoon in particular after bringing your three older children home from school, Trigel was taking a nap in bed. You were right about to bottle feed Harlow before Astrid, Veldar and Taj walked into the nursery.

"Mommy, me and Veldar need help." Taj spoke up, a slightly guilty look on his face as he looked at you.

"What is it?" You queried, holding Harlow with one arm while holding a bottle of warm milk with your free hand.

"Well, we really need help with getting a snack. Astrid tried to help us, but she's still too short to reach it." Veldar explained before his stomach grumbled; he was ready for his after school snack.

You sighed, already knowing that something would happen right when you were about to feed Harlow. Harlow looked up at you with a curious look, wondering where her meal was and when you were going to feed her. You really didn't want to make your two sons wait for their snack, but Harlow needed her meal at the same time.

"Mom, I can feed Harlow, that's why I came in here." Astrid told you; she really wanted to help out with her baby sister.

"Are you sure? Aren't you hungry?" You asked your oldest daughter, not sure if she was ready to bottle feed her younger sister or not.

"Yes, I'm sure. I'm ten years old, making me old enough to feed a baby. I just need you to show me how." Astrid answered in a mature tone, letting you know that she really wanted to help.

"Okay, and thank you." You thanked your oldest daughter as you got up and stepped to the side.

Astrid smiled as she took your place in the glider, getting comfortable before you handed Harlow to her. Once she was comfortable, you showed your oldest daughter exactly how to hold Harlow so that she wouldn't choke before showing her how to hold the bottle. Astrid was a fast learner, so she got the hang of feeding her baby sister quickly. You made sure that Astrid was going to be alright with Harlow before you led your two sons out of the nursery and to the kitchen. You were proud of your older daughter for helping you by feeding Harlow, and so was Trigel after she woke up from her nap and you told her about the earlier events.
