Toddler temper tantrum
~ Zarkon ~
One afternoon while you, Zarkon and Gatrea were in the living room, you and Zarkon were sitting and talking on the couch while Gatrea was sitting on the floor, watching cartoons on tv. You were so busy talking to your husband that you almost lost track of time. It was nearly ten minutes into what was supposed to be Gatrea's nap time when you looked at your phone and saw what time it was.
"I had no idea that it was so late." You commented, putting your phone back down.
"Gatrea's nap time?" Zarkon queried, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah." You confirmed, looking at your now one and a half year old daughter.
Whenever Gatrea was late for her nap, which was rare, she got super cranky. You got up off of the couch and walked over to where she was sitting, not missing the yawn that escaped her mouth.
"Okay, time for your nap." You said quietly as you bent down and made a move to pick your daughter up.
Gatrea turned to look at you, pouting as she looked up. When you tried picking her up she let out a hiss, getting out of your grip. You were slightly startled by the hiss she let out. Zarkon immediately got up and walked over, kneeling down with the intention of helping you.
"Now Gatrea, you need your nap." Zarkon told her in a slightly stern tone.
"No!" Gatrea snapped grumpily, not wanting to stop watching tv.
"Gatrea, you need to take a nap." Zarkon repeated, a little more firmly the second time.
"No!" Gatrea argued again, her bottom lip trembling a little.
You and Zarkon looked at each other, knowing that Gatrea was getting cranky. The longer she went without taking a nap, the worse it would get. You stood up and walked over to the coffee table, grabbing the remote and turning the tv off. Gatrea wasn't happy at all when the tv was suddenly turned off. She was starting to throw a tantrum, mostly because she was actually tired.
"Tv on!" Gatrea screeched as she stood up, stomping her left foot.
"No, it's your nap time." Zarkon told her seriously, a slight growl in his tone.
"No! Tv!" Gatrea yelled at him angrily, tears spilling out of her eyes.
"It's your nap time, young lady. Rather you like it or not." Zarkon growled quietly, picking his cranky daughter up.
Gatrea let out a series of growls and hisses as she was picked up off of the floor by her father, bawling her eyes out. Zarkon carried her out of the living room and towards her bedroom, completely unaffected by her little claws. You weren't ready for the tantrum stage of Gatrea's life, but it would only get worse before it started getting better. As Zarkon carried Gatrea through the hallways he ignored his daughter's tantrum. Thankfully, once he tucked her into her crib, she fell asleep and he was able to go back to the living room; he was looking forward to relaxing with you.

~ Alfor ~
After dinner and dessert you, Alfor and Lotarius went to relax in the living room. Lotarius was happily coloring in the coloring book you gave him while you and Alfor sat on the couch, watching one of your favorite older Disney movies since Lotarius was in the room. You were keeping track of time since it would soon be Lotarius' bed time. When it was his bedtime, you paused the movie.
"Okay Lotarius, it's time to get ready for bed." You said from the couch, waiting for your son to put his coloring book and crayons away.
"No." Lotarius answered, a hint of sass in his tone.
"Lotarius, it's your bedtime. Listen to your mother." Alfor said firmly; he really just wanted some alone time with you, but he also wanted his son to get some sleep.
Lotarius was more tired than anything, but he wanted to finish watching the movie. He had already finished coloring a picture of a spaceship, so he was watching the movie before you paused it. He didn't want to go to bed, he wanted to watch the movie. You and Alfor watched as he stood up and turned to face you both, thinking that he was ready for bed. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
"No! I wanna watch the movie!" Lotarius yelled, stomping one of his feet.
"Lotarius." Alfor warned in a stern tone, trying to be firm with his son.
"I wanna watch the movie!" Lotarius yelled again, only louder the second time.
You sighed, rubbing the upper part of your nose; you should have seen it coming. Lotarius was usually such a well behaved toddler, but that didn't mean that he was immune to temper tantrums.
"I wanna watch the movie! I wanna watch the movie!" Lotarius yelled angrily, tears running down his cheeks.
"Lotarius, you are going to bed and that is final." Alfor said firmly, walking over to his son and picking him up.
Lotarius kicked and screamed as he was carried out of the living room and towards the bathroom. You put the coloring book and crayons away on the bottom of the book shelf, which was where they usually were, before you switched the movie to something else. Eventually Alfor came back to the living room, his hair a little frizzy.
"Did you put him to bed?" You asked your husband as you patiently waited for him on the couch.
"Yes; I believe that he was just tired." Alfor replied as he joined you on the couch, wrapping an arm around your waist.
You sighed quietly, happy that you finally got to have some alone time with your husband. Alfor placed a light kiss to your forehead, something that still made you swoon. You hoped that Lotarius would get a good night's sleep so that he wouldn't be cranky the next morning. In the meantime, you and Alfor decided to watch something that wasn't exactly toddler friendly.

~ Blaytz ~
During dinner one evening you and Blaytz decided to add mashed peas to Iris' dinner. As usual, your nearly two year old daughter happily ate the chicken nuggets, but you had a feeling that she wouldn't like the mashed up peas. Toddlers were usually finicky eaters, especially when it came to vegetables. You took a deep breath as you scooped up some of the mashed peas on a spoon.
"Okay Iris, you need your veggies." You told your daughter calmly, offering her the peas.
Iris scrunched up her face when she looked at and smelled the mashed peas, whining and keeping her mouth shut. The mashed up green vegetable looked yucky to her and she refused to eat it. No matter how hard you tried, she wouldn't open her mouth.
"Come on, it isn't so bad." You tried to reason, rolling your eyes.
"No!" Iris yelled at you, disgusted by what you were trying to feed her.
"Just a little?" Blaytz asked Iris, thinking that he would be able to reason with her.
"No! Peas are yucky!" Iris screamed angrily, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
"Iris, eat your vegetables." You said firmly; temper tantrums were normal for toddlers, so you wouldn't back down until she ate at least one spoonful of peas.
"No!" Iris screamed again, this time crying a little.
"If you don't eat at least one spoonful of peas, then you won't get dessert." You told her in a serious tone.
"Nooo!" Iris wailed, kicking her feet and huffing as she tried getting away from the icky smelling food that you were trying to feed her.
You huffed in frustration, and Blaytz came to your aid, having a plan in mind. While Iris was having her tantrum you handed the spoon over to him and waited for him to do something. It took a while, but eventually Iris calmed down enough so that Blaytz could convince her to at least try one spoonful of the mashed peas. She did, and you decided that one spoonful was enough for the evening. After eating the one spoonful of mashed peas, you gave Iris dessert.

~ Gyrgan ~
When it was Adu's bath day you were getting the tub ready while Gyrgan went to get Adu. It wasn't that Adu hated baths, but he didn't exactly like them, either. So, Gyrgan decided to do the hard job of bringing his son to the bathroom. Adu was in the nursery, playing with his toys. Gyrgan took a deep breath before entering the room, ready for anything.
"Adu, your mother and I have a surprise for you." Gyrgan said as calmly as he could, not wanting to make his son suspicious.
Adu looked up at his father, already knowing what was going on; it was bath day for him. He was only just over a year and a half old, but he was smart for his age. Gyrgan watched as Adu stood up, panicking a little when his son started holding his breath, which was something to worry about.
"No! No bath!" Adu screeched at the top of his lungs, his face turning a little red.
"You need to take a bath." Gyrgan told Adu, becoming a little frustrated.
Adu stuck his bottom lip out a little and started crying, stomping his right foot a few times. Gyrgan's least favorite part of fatherhood was dealing with temper tantrums, but he was thankful that they didn't happen very often. Before Adu could hide somewhere, Gyrgan picked him up.
"I'm sorry, but you need a bath." Gyrgan apologized, carrying his son out of his room.
"Noooo!" Adu screamed in despair, crying loudly as he was carried to the bathroom.
Gyrgan huffed, hoping that his son would settle down by the time he was put in the tub. He was completely unaffected by the temper tantrum; it happened before most bath times, so it was normal. Adu didn't stop crying; in fact, the closer he was carried to the bathroom, the louder he screamed and cried. By the time Gyrgan walked into the bathroom Adu was only pouting, his face red and his eyes a little puffy from crying. Thankfully, he didn't throw a fit during the bath.

~ Trigel ~
As of late, Astrid hadn't been picking up her toys after playing with them. Her room was getting to be quite messy since you and Trigel refused to clean it for her. So, one afternoon you decided to do something about it. Astrid needed to learn to be a little responsible so that she would learn. You took her favorite pink and purple cat plushie and Trigel put it on a high shelf in the living room.
"Give Kitty back!" Astrid yelled at Trigel angrily.
"You need to clean up your room first." Trigel told Astrid, using a firm tone.
"No! Don't wanna!" Astrid scoffed, crossing her little arms over her chest.
You sighed in frustration, knowing that Astrid was having a tantrum. She rarely had them, but sometimes when she had to do something that she didn't like, her anger would raise its ugly head in the form of a temper tantrum.
"Astrid, if you don't clean your room then you won't get Kitty back until you do." Trigel said seriously, not giving into her daughter's tantrum.
"No! Give Kitty back now!" Astrid demanded, tears streaming down her face.
"Then I'm sorry, but you won't be getting Kitty back." Trigel told her, acting unaffected by her bursts of anger.
Astrid screamed loudly and stomped one of her feet on the floor before running to her room. Once she got to her room, she screamed and cried in despair. Eventually her tantrum died down and she put all of her toys away in their proper places. You and Trigel were thankful that she finally picked up her toys, even though she had a temper tantrum first, and you both gave Kitty back to her once her room was clean and after she took a well needed nap.
