A look into the future

~ Zarkon ~

After having twelve daughters, you and Zarkon decided that you both were finished having children. Zarkon got a vasectomy so that he wouldn't get you pregnant again, taking responsibility so that you wouldn't have to worry about popping out any more surprise babies. He was a little sad that the two of you didn't have any sons, but he really loved all of his and your little princesses. Gatrea married Hepta when they turned twenty three and now had children of their own while Zara was dating a beautiful young Nalquodi woman. Zia and Krella were a part of a foreign exchange student program, so they were currently off-world, leaving you and your husband with eight daughters living at home.

You never imagined that you would have twelve children, but it was definitely worth all the pain, sweat and tears. Your two youngest daughters, Luz and Juz, were only eleven months old and were extremely adorable. While your other daughters were either doing their homework or playing in the playroom one evening after dinner, you and Zarkon took Juz and Luz to the nursery when it was their bedtime. Your other daughters knew that if they needed you, they had to be quiet when they were near the nursery. While you were putting Juz into her pajamas, Zarkon was trying to change Luz' diaper, something he had gotten better at over the years; he still gagged sometimes, though.

"Do you need any help over there?" You questioned as you looked at your husband, sitting on the comfortable glider chair while carefully putting Juz' pajama shirt on her.

"No, I've got it under control." Zarkon answered, insisting that everything was under control despite fighting the urge to gag.

"Yeah, daddy doesn't have it under control. Your sister is giving him a hard time." You playfully whispered to Luz, causing her to giggle.

"I heard that." Zarkon spoke up after hearing what you told Luz, rolling his eyes; he finished changing Juz' diaper as quickly as he could so that he could sanitize his hands and put her in her pajamas.

You got Luz into her pajamas first, smiling as you watched her yawn. You knew that your two youngest daughters were tired after the long day of fun they had, so it wouldn't be very long before they fell asleep. You kissed Luz' forehead before you laid her in her crib and tucked her in. Zarkon, who had just finished putting Juz in her pajamas, placed her in her own crib next before tucking her in. You both wished your two youngest daughters goodnight before turning the nursery light off and cracking the door halfway.

"You know kitten, it would be nice to go out to dinner together tomorrow evening. Just the two of us." Zarkon spoke softly as he walked next to you, clearly hinting at wanting to spend time alone with you.

"Are you asking me out on a date?" You queried with excitement, smiling as you looked up at your husband.

"I am. I still love spending time alone with my beautiful wife." Zarkon confirmed as he smiled down at you; even after giving birth several times, he still thought that you were the most beautiful woman in existence.

"I would love to, Zar Zar." You responded happily, a light blush dusting your cheeks.

Zarkon's smile got a little wider, a happy feeling causing his heart to swell in his chest. Even though you both still had eight daughters still living at home, that you and your husband loved dearly, the two of you still loved going out on date nights and short two day vacations as a couple. As you both slowly walked in the direction of the living room, you held one of your husband's hands with one of yours, your heart fluttering in your chest as you thought about the next evening. Zarkon bought a new outfit for you to wear for his and your date; he made sure that it was your favorite color. As you walked next to your husband, you remembered back when you first met him and smiled, happy with how your life turned out.

~ Alfor ~

Shortly after Lotarius and Allura got married, they got a home of their own and settled down. You and Alfor were sad that your first child got married and moved out of home, but you both were also proud of him. It was definitely an adjustment for you and your family to not have Lotarius around, but you all eventually got used to it. It was an adjustment for Coran and Melenor too since Allura, their oldest daughter, got married and left home too. One day while the rest of your kids and Melenor's kids were at school, Lotarius and Allura called and told you, Alfor, Coran and Melenor that there was something important they needed to talk to the four of you about when they came to visit that day.

By the sound of your son's voice, you weren't sure if something was wrong or not. So, once everyone was seated in the living room, Alfor brought a plate of cookies in and put them down on the coffee table. It was nice having your son and Allura visiting; you couldn't help but remember when they were playing together on Lotarius' first birthday. After Alfor sat next to you, Lotarius cleared his throat.

"Lotarius, is something the matter?" Melenor asked your son with concern, looking between him and Allura.

"No, nothings wrong. Mother, father, Allura and I have something very important that we would like to tell you all." Lotarius spoke while looking at his wife, a slight smile on his face.

"We're expecting a baby." Allura announced, smiling as she looked at you, Alfor and her parents, a happy smile adorning her face.

"You mean that I'm finally going to be a pop-pop?" Coran asked his daughter with emotion, fighting the urge to cry from how happy he was.

"That's wonderful!" Melenor commented, wiping her tears of happiness away with the back of one of her fingers.

"Congratulations, my son." Alfor said happily, smiling proudly at his and your son.

"I can't believe it; I'm going to be a grandma." You spoke, feeling as though you were going to cry; you were happy that your son was going to be a father, but you were sad because it seemed like time just flew by.

Lotarius and Allura smiled happily, holding each other's hands as they told you, your husband, Coran and Melenor that they were expecting their first baby. It was hard to believe that they were going to have a baby of their own, especially since it felt as though it was only yesterday that they were babies. You could tell that Coran and Melenor were just as excited to be grandparents as you and Alfor were.

"Have you two discussed names yet?" Alfor queried, smiling like the proud soon to be grandfather he was; your husband had even grown his beard out.

"We have a few names selected for either gender, but we're waiting to find out if we're having a boy or a girl before we make our final decision." Allura answered bashfully, smiling as she spoke.

"Ah yes, your mother and I said the same thing back when we first found out that she was pregnant. If I remember correctly, we first thought that you were going to be a boy. It was a nice surprise when we found out that you were a girl, though." Coran told Allura, a fond smile on his face as he stroked his mustache.

You smiled at the memory, remembering when Coran and Melenor first told you and Alfor that they were expecting a baby for the first time. You leaned against your husband and he held one of your hands with one of his while you both listened to Coran mussing over memories. So many wonderful things happened over the years, especially after you moved to Altea back when you and Alfor were dating. Back then, you never imagined that you would meet the Red Paladin of Voltron, end up married to him and have a family. If you hadn't of come across the Red Lion that day so many years ago, you wouldn't have fallen in love with Alfor and had such a wonderful life and family with him.

~ Blaytz ~

Before Iris' sixteenth birthday, you and Blaytz started getting everything ready. Blaytz' siblings and their families were going to be there, the other Paladins were invited and all of Iris' friends were going to be there as well. At the party, you and your husband finally got to properly meet Dasla, your oldest daughter's girlfriend. Dasla was full Nalquodi, but just like almost everyone else on Nalquod she was very chill and friendly. Understandably, Blaytz was a little protective of Iris at first, but after you both met Dasla, he approved of her.

All throughout the birthday planning and the royal ball itself Blaytz had to be careful not to over exert himself since he was six months pregnant with quadruplets. You both had wanted to have a few more kids, but your body had taken some wear and tear over the years, so Blaytz wanted to carry the last of his and your children since he was a hermaphrodite; you were just thankful to find the right sperm donor. You didn't mind your husband being pregnant since you would be a good mother for them just like you had been with your other children, even though you weren't birthing them. Speaking of your children, they all had fun at the ball, especially Iris who had the best night of her life since she got to spend it with her girlfriend. By the end of the night, you and your family were tired, but happy.

"Goodnight mom, goodnight daddy. Thank you both so much for the wonderful party. It was the best night of my entire life." Iris thanked you and her father, a dazed smile on her face as she wished you both goodnight.

"We could tell, especially the way Dasla kissed you like you both were-" Blaytz started to say before Iris cut him off, a huge grin on his face.

"Okay, daddy, that's enough!" Iris squeaked in embarrassment, a blush appearing on her face and her feelers wiggling above her head.

"Goodnight Iris, we're happy that you enjoyed the ball." You told your daughter in a soft tone, smiling at her.

Iris smiled as she first hugged you, then hugged her father before leaving your and his bedroom. You and Blaytz wished your oldest daughter goodnight when you both hugged her, happy that she had a wonderful sixteenth birthday. After she left your room, you and Blaytz turned the lights on your nightstands off and laid in bed together, cuddling with each other. After only a few seconds of cuddling together, you could hear Blaytz crying a little.

"Hey, what's wrong, hot stuff?" You queried with curiosity, wondering what was on your husband's mind.

"I'm sorry, I was just thinking that in a few years our oldest baby girl is going to be all grown up and she's going to get married and move away. I miss it when she was a tiny little baby and she would copy my feeler movements while I cradled her in my arms. I can't believe how time flies by when you're least expecting it… I miss it when all of our kids were babies." Blaytz cried sadly, sniffling as he spoke; between his pregnancy hormones and Isis growing up, it was understandable why he was crying.

"I know, I miss it too. All of our children are growing up so quickly." You agreed, crying a little as you thought about how much time had passed.

"At least we'll get to cherish every moment we have with these four. Feel, cutie, they're moving around." Blaytz spoke with an emotional tone, placing a hand when he felt the quadruplets moving around inside of him; he never thought that the feeling of love could be so strong.

"Yeah, they do that a lot. They're going to be perfect, just like our other kids." You quietly agreed while placing a hand on your husband's extended belly and felt the babies moving around; it made you remember when you were pregnant.

In a way, you missed being pregnant, but at the same time, you were thankful that your husband was the pregnant one this time around. You both agreed that the quadruplets would call you mom and call him dad. You smiled as you felt the quadruplets moving around in your husband's baby bump, wondering how they would look when they were born; obviously, they were going to be adorable. When a memory of you holding Iris when she was a newborn flashed through your mind, you felt a little sad; you were sad that the time flew by in what seemed like a flash. After sharing a loving kiss and wishing each other goodnight, you and Blaytz fell asleep together, both of you happy with how wonderful your lives turned out.

~ Gyrgan ~

After Adu grew up and married Bandor, he moved away so that he could go live on Altea with his husband. At some point before your oldest grew up, you and Gyrgan were blessed with another baby girl that you both named Ese; she was completely unexpected, but you and your husband loved her very much. After you got pregnant, Gyrgan had a vasectomy so that you both wouldn't have any more surprise babies; you weren't as young as you once were and he was worried about you dying during childbirth. Gemma had already graduated and was in a relationship while Gavin was going to graduate within the next few months. Dolly was old, but she was still just as full of life as Oreo, her calf.

After you and Gyrgan brought Ese home from school, you, your husband and your three remaining children gathered in the living room since Adu and Bandor were going to call since they had something important to say. There were so many possibilities of what they had to say that you didn't know what it could be. When Adu and Bandor called, you pushed the receiver button and the holoscreen popped up.

"HI Adu, what do you and Bandor have to say? Are you both coming to visit us soon?" Ese questioned with excitement as soon as the screen popped up, being the first to speak up.

"Hold on, Ese. And no, we're not coming to visit soon, I'm sorry. It's going to be quite a while before we come to visit." Adu calmly told his youngest sibling, a fond smile appearing on his face.

"Is something wrong?" Gyrgan queried in a concerned way; as always, he was worried about his and your children when something was up.

"No, nothing's wrong.' Adu said reassuringly, a barely noticeable smile on his face.

"We're adopting three kids." Bandor announced with excitement, a big smile appearing on his and Adu's faces.

"That's wonderful! I'm so proud of you both." You happily responded, proud of your oldest son and his husband for adopting; you were a little sad at the same time though because you would be becoming a grandmother.

As soon as Bandor said that he and Adu were adopting, Ese started asking questions about what the kid's names were, how old they were and when she would get to meet them. Adu was more than happy to answer his youngest sister's questions, knowing that his and Bandor's soon to be kids would most likely ask lots of questions. During the call, Adu and Bandor told you and Gyrgan about each of the children; after the adoption went through, they would bring them to Rygnirath to meet you both and Adu's three younger siblings. After talking for almost two hours, Adu and Bandor had to end the call since it was dinner time. Gemma and Gavin left the living room with Ese since they promised to play a board game with her, leaving you and Gyrgan alone.

"I can't believe it, we're going to be grandparents. Has the time really flown by that quickly?" You asked your husband in disbelief, feeling a little sad.

"Yes, it has, but you still look as beautiful as the day we met, cupcake." Gyrgan answered, a soft smile on his face as he gazed into your eyes.

"And you're still as handsome as ever, boo bear. I can't wait to meet our grandkids. I love you." You quietly responded, smiling up at your husband as your heart fluttered in your chest.

"I can't wait to meet them either. I love you too, Y/n." Gyrgan spoke as he carefully picked you up bridal style and closed his eyes  leaning down a little.

Knowing what he wanted, you gripped his shirt and closed your eyes before your lips met his in a familiar kiss. After everything that had happened, you were happy that your loving relationship with your husband hadn't faded. It was hard to believe that you and Gyrgan would soon be grandparents, but you both knew that it would happen eventually. You couldn't wait to meet your grandkids and neither could Gyrgan; Gemma, Gavin and Ese couldn't wait to meet them, either. With everything that happened in your life after meeting the love of your life, you were content.

~ Trigel ~

After your kids went to bed, you and Trigel took a large blanket outside and laid it in the same place you both laid on the night of your first wedding anniversary so many years ago. After Astrid married Aekil, they moved to a large house together and were now soon expecting their first baby. After Trigel had Soma, her and your youngest son, you both decided that having five children was enough. It was hard to believe that you and Trigel were going to be grandmothers very soon; it made you feel old, even though you weren't exactly old yet. You both knew that Astrid's first baby was a boy, so you and your wife couldn't wait to meet your first grandson.

While you laid next to your wife on the blanket, you were holding one of her hands with one of yours, both of you looking up at the stars. You were proud of all of your children and so was Trigel. Every so often, you both glanced at each other and smiled, enjoying being outside during such a warm night. Being in the secluded part of the garden, neither of you were going to be bothered by anyone who might still be awake during such a late hour.

"Lovey, do you remember when we saw that shooting star during our first wedding anniversary?" Trigel queried, looking at you as she broke the silence.

"Yes, I remember." You replied, smiling as you remembered that night.

"I made a wish that night when we saw it." Trigel added onto her question, moving a little closer to you.

"Did your wish come true?" You asked her with curiosity, wondering what her wish was.

"Yes, it did. That night I wished that we would have a baby, but I never expected that we would end up with five wonderful children." Trigel answered, her voice quiet as she spoke; back then, she would have never imagined that you both would have five kids.

"I'm happy that your wish came true." You responded quietly, slowly closing your eyes as you leaned towards your wife.

Subconsciously knowing what you wanted, Trigel closed her eyes and pressed her lips against yours, lightly kissing you. Her heart fluttered in your chest and so did hers in her chest, both of you feeling an overwhelming feeling of love. You missed it when your kids were little, but you were proud of how wonderful they were turning out as they grew up, and so was Trigel. After a few moments, you both broke the kiss and opened your eyes.

"I love you so much, angel." You quietly told your wife, feeling as though you were going to burst from how much love you felt for her.

"I love you too, lovey." Trigel whispered in response, once again kissing you.

You closed your eyes, once again accepting the kiss; your lips tingled as your wife kissed you. With how your life turned out after meeting Trigel, it almost felt as though it was a fairytale. You deepened the kiss and licked Trigel's bottom lip, slipping your tongue inside of her mouth when she granted you access. You both had to get into a position so that you could kiss each other easier and actually hold on to each other. Both you and Trigel were happy with the way your lives turned out; no matter what happened in the future, you both would be by each other's side.
