Chapter Two - Space Jesus

°•° Two Days Later - 3rd Person °•°

Lance realized that he never escaped.

It was all just another simulation.

He was still here in this galra ship, in the pod that Haggar used to try and read his memories.

He'd made up Percy, desperate for an escape from the cruel reality that was the Galra.

That was the only explanation that made sense.

Until the healing pod opened and he landed in Shiro's arms, that was the only explanation that made sense.

"Lance, you're awake!" The black paladin said.

"I'm sorry." Lance muttered.

"What for?" Lance paused. He didn't know what he was sorry for.

"For not coming with you. I could have, if only I could have held up for a few seconds."

"No, don't be sorry. You saved my life, Lance. I should have come back for you sooner." The black paladin hugged the blue paladin tighter.

"Lance, can we talk?" Percy asked from the back of the room once Shiro let go.

"Uh, yeah." Lance nodded. They walked out into the hallway together.

"So, y'know when we were escaping and I kind of cut you with a sword?" Lance nodded.

"You said I wasn't mortal." He recalled.

"Yeah. Well, y'know Greek mythology?" Lance nodded again. "It's real. I'm the son of Poseidon. You're the child of one of the Greek gods. I know this because of the sword."

"So, because I'm a god-"

"Half God." Percy corrected. "The term is demigod."

"So, because I'm a 'demigod', your magic sword can kill me?" Percy nodded.

"Now you're getting it."

"How can I trust you? The sword could have been pulled from a dimensional pocket - wouldn't be the first time. It could be like Keith's Bayard. And who's to say it hurt me because I'm a 'demigod'? It could have just been a normal sword."

"I figured this might happen. Katie!" Percy called, and Pidge walked around the corner.

"It's true, Lance. I'm a daughter of Hephaestus."

"What? If you're the child of some god, then what about your dad?"

"He may not be my biological dad, but I love him more than anything in the world. Or, the universe, I guess, since we left Earth," Pidge began to ramble.

"Okay, so what am I?"

"Probably the son of Aphrodite. With all that flirting? I'm pretty sure that Keith's a demigod too." Pidge turned to Percy.

"Really? Lemme guess, Ares?"

"No, I think Mars."

"Isn't Mars a planet?" Lance questioned.

"Also a Roman God." Percy waved him off.

"What? I thought you said just Greek-"

"Not just Greek... Oh, come here." Pidge dragged Lance down to Green's hangar, leaving Percy alone in the hall. The demigod smiled to himself and made his way to the pool.

Percy was panting as he jumped out of the elevator, glad that it wasn't exactly Earth style. It still put him on edge, but now that he was at the pool, he was okay. He was surprised to see Hunk and Shiro swimming on the ceiling.

"How does that even work?" Percy called up.

"If you jump, you get sucked up here. It's a weird gravity pool!" Hunk said excitedly. Percy gasped happily and jumped towards the water. He flew up towards it and landed with a splash.

"Why aren't all pools on the ceiling?" Percy asked, making a mental note to visit the Hecate kids when he got back to camp.

"I don't know, but it's going to catch on back on Earth someday." Shiro predicted. Percy smiled fondly when he thought of his home planet, then frowned when he remembered his capture.

"I hope so. I love water more than anything." Percy admitted. Hunk smiled.

"No wonder you and Lance broke out together. You two would get along great. If we were on Earth, Lance could beat anyone at a surfing contest." The yellow paladin told him.

°•° MEANWHILE... °•°

Pidge smiled as Lance re-explained what she had told him.

"You're a child of Hephaestus, who is the Greek god of machines and inventing shit."

"Close enough, I suppose." Pidge smiled at the description of her godly Father.

"So, how did you know I'm a son of Aphrodite?" Lance asked.

"I don't know that you're a son of Aphrodite. I just can't think of who else you would be related to. Maybe Apollo? You're quite the sharpshooter." Pidge speculated.

"Isn't Apollo the god of arrows?"

"And poetry. Bad poetry, but poetry."

"Oh." Lance was very confused - he'd been through a lot in the past seven months, and now was being told he was part God. Like Jesus. Space Jesus. "So, is Christianity-"

"Not that kind of God, Lance. Gods. There are twelve. Well, eleven major Gods, a whole lot of minor ones, and then Hera. She's a-" Pidge looked around for a moment.

"What? Who's Hera?" Lance asked.

"Is Kaltenecker still on board?"
