Chapter 5 - Morning
Pidge woke up in the Hephaestus cabin in her old bunk, which was surprisingly still empty after all these years.
"Hey, who're you?" Her old friend asked. "I'm-"
"Mateo." Pidge smiled. (A/N - I know, I know. I hate OC inserts too {usually} but there are only four children of Hephaestus at camp, and not much is known about any of them except Leo and a little about Nyssa. Sorry!)
"How did you-"
"I'm Katie."
"You're alive??" Mateo gasped, wrapping her in a bear hug. "I thought you were dead."
"I'm sorry. I meant to tell you. I should have told you before I left, after what happened with Beckendorf." Katie sighed, remembering the trio. Beckenforf, Mateo and Katie were the best of friends.
"It's okay."
°•° Time Skip - Katie's POV °•°
I scraped some of my eggs, bacon and french toast into the sacrificial fire, praying to Hermes, thanking him for bringing me home. As the god of travelers, I figured he deserved some of the credit for my return.
Chiron cleared his throat as the last camper (Connor Stoll, burning a pack of M&M's) sat down.
"Campers, as you know, it's Capture the Flag day. Tonight, however we will have a special game. We have some returned heroes, some new heroes, and some visitors." I watched as Annabeth pushed Percy and Leo closer to Chiron. I grinned at them as Annabeth walked my way.
The mess hall exploded with applause as the campers realized who stood before them. I started clapping before Annabeth grabbed my arm. I slid down under the table to avoid being clapped at, but Annabeth was quick.
"Please don't!" I hissed. Annabeth smiled sympathetically.
"They think you're dead. You should let them know you're not." I sighed and let her pull me out from under the table. By now, half the mess hall was watching to see what Annabeth was doing. I let her drag me up to Chiron, where I stood with my head hung low.
"Our returned heroes - Percy Jackson! Leo Valdez! Katie Holt!" A few gasps rang out. I wasn't as big a deal as Percy or Annabeth, but I did help save the world twice by their sides. We came through the Doors of Death together, the only demigods in recorded history to walk through Tartarus.
"Is that really her?" Someone yelled. It sounded like Mateo - of course. He would be one of the only ones to really care.
"Er, yes." Chiron said. I looked towards the Aphrodite table, where Lance was fidgeting nervously. He knew that he might have to be welcomed soon, but I had asked Chiron not to do that when he told me last night that he didn't want to be a hero here. Odd for his personality type, but I decided to think nothing of it. Everyone has more going on than we realize.
°•° Time Skip - 3rd Person Lance °•°
Lance didn't know what they were still here for. If they went and killed Zarkon now, this whole thing could be over, right?
Percy had said some sort of prophecy earlier, but he didn't know what it was supposed to mean. Did they really have to follow it? That seemed stupid. Why have all these powers if you had to follow the rules of some ancient ghost lady?
Lance knew it was all too good to be true.
"Hey, do you want any help getting gear for the game tonight?" A nice Aphrodite girl asked. She had choppy brown hair and color changing eyes. If Lance wasn't her... half-brother/sister's son, he would have flirted with her.
"Sure." He smiled. No point in being upset all day.
"Cool. Oh, uh, I'm Piper." Piper smiled back at Lance and held out a hand. Lance took it and shook.
"Lance."
"Well, come with me to the armory once the meal is closed." She said. Lance watched as Keith laughed at a joke Clarisse made. He wished he could fit in like that, but no luck. He felt like he didn't belong in the Aphrodite cabin or the Hermes cabin.
He hated not belonging.
°•° 3rd Person Shiro °•°
Shiro was starting to wonder if he'd gone crazy.
Some girl called Hazel had done something so he could see "the real camp" or something like that. He didn't believe what he saw. He saw a lava climbing wall. He saw Pegasuses. He saw swords and knifes on every person in the area.
And Katie was one of these people? Keith and Lance, too. He, Hunk and Allura were the only ones who weren't. Well, Coran wasn't either, but he had stayed on the castle.
Shiro at least had a weapon built in. Hunk and Allura? Not so much. Shiro felt like they would need one soon though. Very soon.
A/N - sorry for all the confusing POV changes!
