So, this chapter is really different because it consists of all the games played at the camp. So, I have written the game's name at the beginning of the paragragh or section that includes that particular game! This chapter is setted on the two days when they play all the games! The camp was of four days, one day is already over, the next two are in this one and the last one in the coming chapter. And then, they go home. This chapter explains the games played, but the other things. Just the games because it is really important for the story. Now keep thinking why! :P

  CHAPTER 18 - And the Hunger Games begins

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." 

But in this game, success is final, failure will be fatal and the courage to continue will be that it's best. Our mothers says that in a game, we all are winners. But in this game, we all aren't. There is only one winner. 

SO it's the day when all the games will take place. And I know that I over exaggerated it but it is very important for me, It's about my pride.

"Okay, so we are going to play the games in these two days and believe me kids, it will be very tiring. So, to solve that, we'll stay one more day here and then leave." Miss Tanktop said.

We all were standing in front of her and Mr. Taylor. They went on saying something about the games and I was busy in worrying. No matter what happens, I have to win this. Just because of the guy standing in front of me, smirking his heart out at me. Maybe, he is too sure that he'll win and I'll leave the game earlier than him. But let me tell you Mr. Matthews, I am a stubborn kid and I never quit. Never ever, I always complete my task, especially when it's on my pride.

"Now about the partners, it's according to your names."

Oh no, not again. I don't want to get paired up with Ryan again. Please let it be according to the first names God. Not the last ones or I'll get stuck with him again.

Shoot, if it will me according to the first names, then I'll not be able to be paired with Aiden. Actually, there is no way I could. Our names are totally different.

"Starting from A, it's Alison with Aiden..." The list went on and on.

"Jade with Jamie." Miss Tanktop announced. What? I am with Jamie, the guy who's always sleeping in every single class and is lazy like anything. 

Thank you God for giving me such an amazing life because now with Jamie, me and my pride, both are going to drown by Ryan. Thank you.

"Ryan with Sage and Sam with Xavier." Wait, what? Ryan with Sage? Finally, my goal is completed. I wanted them to be together, even if it's just for some games. At least, they'll talk to each other.

"So, here are the basic rules. No cheating allowed, it's just a game. Also, we have putted one girl and one boy in each pair so all the teams will be fair. No complaining about that. The number of games are many so everyone will get a chance to win, I guess. So don't get dishearted. Am I clear?"

"Yes, Mr. Taylor."

"So, let the Hunger Games begin." My P.E teacher has watched The Hunger Games? Weird!

So, let the games begin!

Shot Put

Shot put is a track and field event involving 'throwing' or 'putting' (throwing in a pushing motion) a heavy spherical object, the shot, as far as possible.

This games looks easy, but it's not. The shot is of 20 kgs! Can you believe it? Twenty kilograms for crying out loud. It's a way too heavy!

All the pairs were not playing together. Our teachers divided pairs into four groups, each guided by a teacher and our group was guided by Mr. Taylor. And guess what, Ryan and Sage are in the same group as me. Suprising huh? Noooo! 

There were total seven pairs in this group and unfortunely, non of my best friends are in this one, not even Aiden. Sad? Yessss!

"Okay! WHo'll start this game?" Mr. Taylor asked with his harsh voice. He lifted the shot in his hands and showed it to us. "This thing is heavy so be careful. Don't hurt yourself or anyone else. ANd the rules are : You have to stay inside the circle and then throw the ball. If your leg touches the circle, you are disqualified. You have don't have to place the shot on your palm, hold it with your fingers. Whoever throws the farest will be the winner. And one more thing, only one member from each pair can take part in this activity. No second chances, no retries." He explained.

First went Xavier. He was a lean guy and seemed like he'll throw it far away. Wish I had him as my partner. 

"So, you'll go in this one." I ordered to Jamie. He was a skinny guy with white blonde hair and light purple eyes. Yeah, purple!

He looked at me with shock and said,"W-why me? You can go."

"I am a girl. This is more of a guy's thing and I guess you are a guy so you have to go." I said. Man, why is he so lazy an scared all the time?

"No, I can't. Have you seen the shot? It's too heavy for me. You go. You are more muscular than me." He replied. Ahh, this guy is a dead meat now. I, Jade Newly, the girl who was asthma, eats a lot but then also don't gain weight no matter how hard I try, is muscular than a guy?

"You are so manly Jamie." I commented sarcastically.

"Thank you Jade. That was the first time I got that as a compliment." He said. Okay, now someone didn't understand the sarcasm, with spit coming out when he spoke.

"And this is also the last time you are getting this because you are such a GIRL." I shouted.

"Any problem Miss Newly?" Mr. Taylor asked while Xavier grabbed the shot from his hand.

I smiled awkwardly and said,"No problem sir. Carry on."

Xavier's hand which had the shot was near the side of his head, he putted the body pressure on that side and throwed the shot with full force. Everyone clapped for him and the most happiest girl seemed to be Chelsea. Clapping her heart out for Xavier. Even though, she was not his girlfriend, or not even friend.

"10 metres." Mr.Taylor announced. Wow, that was good.

"Team Ryan and Sage." Mr.Taylor ordered. Ryan nodded and went to the place where the shot was kept and that place was near me. It was obvious that he'll come to play because Sage's a girl. He is not like Jamie who thinks I am muscular.

He bent down to lift the shot, he pulled it up with ease and smirked at me and spoke,"Looks like you are going to lose the very first game Rasberry."

"I am not." I replied.

"Yeah because Jamie is stronger like Hulk. I know." He joked. I turned my head to see Jamie who was standing near the tree, scared because of the game. What a guy.

Ryan went inside the circle and placed th shot between his fingers, stretched to his right side and throwed the shot. Damn, it was better than Xavier.

"15 metres." Mr.Taylor said. Woow! That was sooo good.

Ryan pulled back his proud look and went to his original position.

"Jade and Jamie, you guys are the last one left. Come." I totally forgot that all the pairs were done and now it was our turn. From all the pairs, the player was the guy but from ours, it will be me.

I stepped forward and went to take the shot. Everyone's face was filled with shock because I was going to play this one.

"Jamie is not playing?"

"No sir. He is not."

I bent down to grab the shot and when I lifted the ball, it was the end. That thing was too heavy. I managed my best to pull it and succedd. But the way I carried the shot made everyone laugh. I carried it with both my hands and ran to the circle as fast as I could.

"Ain't the ball heavier than you Strawberry?" Ryan's voice reached my ears. He chuckled. Jerkhead.

"You are not even half of the weight as the shot." Dan, a guy from one of the pairs of our group, commented.

"Be careful Jade. Don't do it if its too heavy for you." Mr.Taylor said. Wow, this harsh man cares too?

My face was red due the weight of the shot. I managed to speak between my pants,"No Sir. I'll do it."

"That's the spirit Jade." He smiled.

I did the same as the others did and throwed the ball with full force. I closed my eyes because I didn't want to see where the shot went.

"4 metres.Pretty good Jade."

What? Just 4 metres? That is not even half of Ryan's.

Ryan came to me and said,"That was good but my dear Jade, you lost the first game, just like I told you."

Noooooo! I lost it!

God, please help me from this guy, or maybe, give me a better partner. Jamie sucks. I mean look at him. He is still hiding under the tree.

After a few minutes, I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see Jamie standing, with a finger inside his mouth, saying."You played pathetic."

Blood boiled inside my veins and I was about to kill this idiot when Mr. Taylor said,"Time for the next game."

Back to back

Back to back : There will be a bucket full of water balloons for each pair. One, next to you and the another, 30 feets away at the end mark. The players have to put the water balloon between both of their backs and walk to the other bucket. If your balloon breaks you must go back and get another balloon. Set a time limit and when the times run out see which team has the most water balloons in their bucket.

This game, is weird. We have to carry a water balloon between our backs. But kinda easy on the same time. A way more easy than Shot put. Damn, that game was idiotic and tough.

"Here, your buckets filled with balloons. One will be situated next to you and the another on the finish mark. Rules : The balloon should not burst or fall. Don't use your hand to hold them. No taking advantage of your partner's body, okay Gabriel?" Mr.Taylor asked. Gabriel is the perviest guy you'll ever find. He touches girl at their parts when they are playing. He loves it. I can't explain the way he stares at girls. It's uncomfortable. Very much!! Happy that he is not in my team, Chelsea is. She'll like a guy like him. But I have Jamie, the lazyhead.

"We have to win this one Jamie, please." I pleaded.

"Yeah but I am scared." He answered nervously. 

"Scared? Why? Fear that you'll wet your t-shirt?" I asked with sarcasm, rolling my eyes and crossed arms over my chest.

"No, that he'll wet his pants." A new voice answered. I turned around to see Gabriel standing there. Ooh, pervert alert.

"Why will he wet his pants in this?" I asked.

"Because he is a loser. You should be in my team Beautiful. Damn, you look amazing, as always." He replied, grabbing my waist and pulling me into him. Urgg, this is uncomfortable.

"Leave me Gabriel." I ordered while trying to push him away.

He stood taller than me so it was difficult for me to push him away. Also, he was really strong. He spoke again,"Try me babe." 

Now, he is dead.

I saw Ryan's face turned worried and he walked toward us but I showed my hand to him to stop. I wanted to do this by myself.

I smiled at Gabriel and then pulled my knee near to his family jewel and kicked him. He turned back and fell on the ground, covering it.

Hahahaha!

"Damn, Jade. You are such a freak." He said between his cries. I saw Mr.Taylor coming toward us and spoke,"What's happening here?"

"She kicked me." Gabriel said. Oooh, you are not going to tell him the reason why?

"He forced me Sir." I screamed.

"You deserved it Gabriel. Now be a man and stop crying." Mr.Taylor ordered.

"But Jade kicked the thing that proves that he is a man." Xavier joked, which caused everyone to laugh.

"Come, we are going to start." I said to Jamie. 

"I am coming. Just please don't run to fast." He pleaded. We decided that I'll be the one in the front.

"Okay okay, now come on."

I grabbed a balloon from the bucket and placed it between me and Jamie. I turned my head to see Ryan. He was trying hard to keep the balloon betwwen him and Sage.

"And go." Mr.Taylor blew the whitle.

I ran slowly, trying to keep the balloon balanced. 

"Don't run fast." Jamie cried.

"I am not running Jamie. Now stop screaming at me."

We were near the final mark and the bucket where we have to keep our balloon when it fell down.

"I told you  not to run fast." Jamie complaint. He is soo irritating. 

"I wasn't. And you are guilty in this the same. Why weren't you running fast. Your speed is like a little snail. Even that little creature will run faster than you." I shouted.

His face turned red. He grabbed my arm and ran to the bucket and putted the balloon between us. Wow, sudden energy.

"Now run." He ordered. I just did what he said. I was in shock with his behaviour.

After many balloons falling, bursting, screaming ang running, the game ended. And guess the winner, it was US! Yay!

Ryan lost it! Ryan is a loser. Ryan suck at it! Wohoo!

We palyed many games after that! For example, three legged race, lemon on the spoon, set your tent and the list goes on. Ryan won in total three games and the same is with me but the other games were won by other pairs. So I guess this game was a draw. Urg, I hate it when things get draw.

"Okay, well played kids. Now go and sleep in your tents. Tomorrow, we are going to play our last game." Mr.Taylor announced.

Yay, one more game. That means it's not a draw.

"What is the game Sir?" Xavier asked. Yeah, what's the game? I want to beat Ryan in that!

"Treasure hunt." Mr.Taylor answered.

So tomorrow, I have to play this game with the again turned to a lazyhead Jamie and beat Ryan. I don't want to loose at any cost.
