Ch. 8: How to bribe Ash
Misty placed the cup of the coffee on the tray. She eyed her masterpiece, all excited; a delicious soft piece of her special chocolate and almonds cake with an extra layer of melted chocolate on the top, a cup of cinnamon flavored coffee, a fruits salad with yogurt and some nuts.
Misty picked up the tray and made her way to the dining room, where Ash sat calmly at the table, typing quickly on his laptop.
He instantly closed the lid when he felt Misty's presence, but his eyes lit at the sight of the tray's content.
"That smells good."
"I thought you'd like some." Misty's eyes were fixed on the closed laptop. She placed the tray on the table as Ash moved his laptop aside.
Ash grabbed the coffee cup and sniffed. "Hummm, smells really good."
"Really?" Misty sat down right beside the laptop. She put her hands on the table, getting closer and closer to the laptop. "So, what are you writing?"
"Just writing." Ash took a sip of the coffee.
"Oh, I forgot to bring a spoon." Misty gestured to the cake. She put her hands on the laptop. God knows how proud she was of what she was doing. "You can go get one, right?"
"No, it's fine. I don't need a spoon to eat this." Ash ate the slice in three bites under Misty's gaze. "It's delicious."
"Oh, so!" Misty opened the lid of the laptop. It was asking for a password. She couldn't think properly anymore. Ash was getting on her nerves! "Who was that author you told me that other day? I want to look his name up."
Ash watched her curiously.
Misty looked back at him. "W-what?"
"Can you hand over my laptop?"
"Oh, sure." Misty cracked a smile and gave Ash his laptop. "Are you sure you don't want to tell me about this book you're writing? You always tell me about what you write. This time, you didn't even ask for my opinion."
"It's special." Ash got up. He grabbed the tray, the laptop and walked away from the dining room. "Thanks for the cake, Misty! You're the best!"
Misty banged her head against the table.
He wouldn't tell you?
"No!"
Misty made anger voices. She glanced over at the bedroom door that was open and where Ash was typing on his cursed laptop, again.
Did you get your hands on his laptop at least once? He goes to the bathroom, right? You can do that while he's in the bathroom.
"He's set a password, Leaf!" Misty spoke in a lower voice. "He never did this before!"
Did you try key dates?
"I tried all dates possible and imaginable."
Well, maybe he just doesn't want you to know this time, Misty.
"I'll call later! It's Ash."
Misty watched as Ash walked out of the bedroom, stretching his arms.
"Misty, that pie was really delicious. Thanks." Ash pulled close to Misty and kissed her lips.
"I'm glad you liked it."
"It's not good for me to eat too many sweets, though."
"Maybe you can go on walks?" And give Misty enough time to figure out the password of the laptop.
"Hummmmm." Ash stretched his arms in front of him. "But I need to work."
"Well, I think you really should go on walks." Misty was mad. Pies didn't work; cake didn't work; coffee didn't work. Why was Ash refusing to spit it out? She was dying over here.
"But I'll waste time-"
"Well, aren't you wasting time now? You aren't writing, are you?"
"..." Ash blinked.
"I'm going to the beauty salon down the street." Misty grabbed her wallet. "I need a facial to cool off."
"Euuh, okay? Don't be lat-"
SLAM!
Ash chuckled.
"To this point?"
