Ch. 5: It's the war
"This is the sign you have to jump to the next step!"
Misty sipped her hot chocolate. She looked between Dawn and May. "What do you mean?"
"Let's face it." Dawn nodded. "Serena is hot."
May nodded as well. "She has the sexiest thigh gap and hips I've ever seen in my whole life."
"It's almost inhuman."
Misty frowned. The three were sitting at a bench in the university garden. She spoke in a lower voice, "But I don't want to sleep with Ash."
"Really?"
"Well, not now..." She didn't want to tell Dawn and May she wanted to wait until marriage. They'd make fun of her and say that her chances were incredibly low she'd end up with Ash as her husband.
"Either way, you have to do something!"
"Your relationship is stagnating. You have to level up."
"I agree."
Misty pouted. "You two talk like you've leveled up!"
"We don't have boyfriends."
"Drew and I like each other but we're not dating." May defended. "I'll certainly get more involved when he asks me out."
"Paul likes to act like he's immune to my nudes."
Misty and May both looked at Dawn. She shrugged. "What? I'm in college and eighteen."
"Whatever you say..."
Dawn blushed slightly. "I think I like that he likes it."
"Woah, you've grown up, Dawn..."
"Sure did."
Misty narrowed. Was she the only really virgin one, both emotionally and physically? Was it really bad that she wasn't doing anything with Ash? He's never said anything about it. He's never hinted, never got naked around her (he asks her to leave when he wants to change clothes) and never attempted a move on her — a dirty move that is.
Honestly, Misty thought this subject was taking more of her precious time than it should. She and Ash are dating, they like each other and they want to graduate. Ash never complained about the way their relationship is going and she isn't complaining either. She gets those dreams, but all girls get those dreams, no? It wasn't her fault Ash is on her mind all the time and keeps getting in her dreams!
"Isn't that Ash?"
Misty turned to her left. It was indeed Ash. He's just left the university building... with Serena. Both were talking as he drank coffee.
"With Serena!"
"She's got evil plans. I'm sure."
Misty gave no comments. She wasn't feeling good at all.
May turned to look at her redhead friend. "Aren't you going to interrupt?"
"He said he'll join me..."
"Yeah, wait." May rolled her eyes and got up. Dawn did as well. "We're leaving. You keep waiting until he comes here."
"Yeah. That's very wise."
"This is all unwanted drama."
"Bye Misty."
Misty sighed, watching her two friends leave. She turned toward Ash who was still talking to Serena and looking rather excited.
"Female friend, huh..." She'd thought deeply about what Leaf said. Leaf had more experience, no? She's dated Gary for a good time now, and she was an 'official' adult. If Leaf lives with the fact that Gary has female friends, then Misty can do too.
Ash waved Serena goodbye and turned to look around the garden. He waved at Misty and started walking toward the bench when he caught sight of her.
"Calm down, Misty. She is his friend..." Misty reassured herself and flashed a smile when Ash approached her.
"The Comparative Linguistics course really hurts my head!" Ash chuckled and put his books on the table. He looked at Misty and smiled. "Hi. I missed you."
Misty giggled. She liked Ash's smile. It gave positive vibes. "I did too."
She giggled again when Ash kissed her on the lips.
"Your make-up smells like cherries." Ash spoke after he pulled away. "I smell that in Serena too! I think she wears the same lipstick."
"Oh, really?" Misty was freaking out in the inside. Did Ash even realize how dangerous that sounded? Her heart fell to pieces. "It's lip balm, not lipstick."
"I'm not going to discuss make-up things with you because I'm surely not going to keep up the conversation." Ash sipped what was left of his coffee and put the goblet on the table.
Misty's eyes caught the new novel between Ash's books. "Is that a new book?"
Ash grabbed it. "I'd really like to read it here while you rest your head on my shoulder and hug my arm, but I've sat for three hours straight in class and the waistband of my jeans is suffocating my belly."
"So?" Misty smiled. She liked doing that. She even falls asleep sometimes. Ash would steal a kiss from her now and then. She liked Ash's scent and body contact with him was really... pleasing, soft, soothing.
"Let's go to my place so I wear sweatpants."
Misty giggled as both got up and started picking up their stuff. "I have to make you go on a diet."
"First Serena says she'd put me on a diet because I drink coffee all the time, now you." He turned and gave her his back. "I'd go back to my mother looking like a twig. Lucky me!"
Misty have had enough of this girl.
It's official.
She hates her.
