Ch. 12: Misty's here, no more cake
Ash have had enough of this sh*t.
Well, he couldn't really expect Misty to pick up the phone after she saw him with Serena at the mall and thought he's been cheating on her, but he's called nonstop, maybe thirteen times? Twenty? She can't be a normal human being and not answer his calls.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE HOME?
Ash sat bolt upright and pulled the phone away from his ear. "Woah, quite yelling, Serena!"
YOU DUMB HEAD!
Ash pulled his phone away even more. He put on the Speaker mode. "Stop yelling!"
ARE YOU ALL CALM, CHILLING ON YOUR COUCH AND STUFFING YOUR FACE WITH CHIPS TO GET TO THE TWENTY HUNDRED POUNDS?
Ash looked down at the almost now-empty big bowl of chips on his lap. He put it away and felt suddenly regretful. "No, I'm not!"
Listen, Ash! There is a huge misunderstanding going on! You should go see Misty!
"She slapped me!"
Don't be a baby about it! All boyfriends get slapped! It's a part of the relationship.
"I can't bring myself to go see her! She isn't answering my calls."
One more reason for you to be heading off right now to those dorms! She needs explanations, Ash! She's confused and sad.
"What if she slaps me again and doesn't let me talk?"
She can't stop you from talking or keep slapping you forever. You'll eventually get a chance to speak.
Ash looked down at the book he was reading. He folded the paper and closed it. "Maybe you're right."
I can't believe you still haven't hung up this call and hopped in your car.
"I don't-"
Are you still here? Seriously?
"Serena!"
Did you leave the call on while you're driving?
Ash ended the call, grabbed his keys and left his apartment.
Ash did a quick and abrupt turn to park his car. The sound of braking could be heard all over the parking lot.
He hopped out of the car and ran toward the girls dorms building, locking his car from distance. He stopped right at the entrance and took out his phone.
Then, he remembered; today is Sunday. Ash can get inside. Visitors can get in during the weekend.
He slowly pushed the glassy door open and got inside. What floor Misty's room is anyway? He couldn't remember if he's asked her before or if she's told him.
"Eh, excuse me?" Ash asked a girl who was making her way outside. "Do you know, uh, a girl called Misty Williams?"
The girl blinked. "Which year?"
"First."
"Freshmen live in the second floor."
"Oh, okay. Thanks."
The stairs were a little crowded. There were guys, parents, guys, guys, and more guys. When Ash got to the second floor, he instantly caught sight of a mass of red hair and a fluffy pink robe behind an open door. It was Misty. She looked like she was just going inside her room.
"M-"
The door closed.
"I'm sure it's her!" Ash walked through the corridor and got the room. He opened the door. "Mis-"
Misty turned around, gasping. She put her arms over her breasts.
Ash was speechless.
The robe was on the bed. Misty was naked. She wasn't wearing underwear. She was wearing... nothing.
Ash closed the door.
"I'm sorry!" Ash felt like he was hit with a thunderbolt. He was lost. His hands were shivering and his heart beat really fast. His face was red. "I'm sorry!"
The door opened again. Misty was wearing her robe this time. She opened the door wide for Ash to get in. "Come in."
"I'm so-"
"Come in, Ash."
Ash stepped cautiously inside the room. Misty slammed the door shut.
Ash looked at her. "I'm very sorry, Misty. I didn't mean it. I didn't know you were—I really didn't. I saw you outside and you were wearing-"
"I know, I get it." Misty sat on her bed.
"Do you?"
"Yeah."
"..." Ash sat slowly on Misty's desk chair. "Okay..."
"I mean..." Misty avoided eye contact and faked interest in a magazine. "I'm still your girlfriend, right? It's okay."
"It is?"
"I guess."
"Misty." Ash joined her side on the bed. "What happened at the mall-"
"Did you like it?" Misty blushed.
"Huh?"
"What you saw..."
"W-what?"
Misty rubbed her neck. "How do you find me?" She turned to look him in the eye. "Do you find me pretty?"
"I-I..." Ash's face was a deep red.
Misty blushed hard.
He nodded.
"Really?"
Ash nodded quickly.
Misty smiled and looked away, looking really flattered like she never did before.
"You're, uh... pretty. Your body is... hum... uhh... very beautiful."
Misty brushed her hair with her fingers, blushing like a fangirl. "Okay, Ash."
"I was saying-hah!"
Misty lay down on her bed and dragged Ash along. She wrapped her leg around his.
"Tell me; what does Serena has that I don't?"
"Nothing!" Ash propped himself up with his elbow. "We're friends! The guy whom she talked about is Clemont and not me!"
"Wait." Misty propped herself up as well. "Clemont? The guy who stalked her in high school?"
"She seems to like him right now."
Misty lay down again and made Ash do the same. She put her hands on his cheeks. "And why were you hanging out with her and acting like two pairs of lovey dovey people?"
"We weren't! I was looking for a present to get you and she offered her help!"
"Oh..."
"I'm sorry if any of this upset you, Misty. Serena said I should make up with you and get you something..."
Misty smiled a small one. "So, she doesn't like you."
Ash turned to rest on his back. He put his hands behind his head. "Naah, but we're good friends. She gives good advice. I'm here thanks to her."
Misty rested her hand on Ash's chest. "So, that fight was for nothing and I looked pretty stupid."
Ash took a deep breath. "I don't think you look pretty stupid."
Misty giggled and pulled closer to Ash. She put her head on his chest. "You can't blame me, Ash. I love you way too much to let other girls have a bit of you."
Ash looked at her. "Do I really have to let Serena go? We get along very well."
He let shriek when Misty pinched his side. "I meant we're good friends!"
"It's fine." Misty smiled to herself. "You can keep her as a friend. It's a good thing if she knocks up some sense into you now and then. It'd help me."
"Good for you but not for me."
Misty giggled loudly. She ran her hand all over Ash's abdomen and suddenly pulled herself up. "Wait, have you been going to the gym lately? You look all puffy."
Ash blinked. He zipped his jacket to hide the evidence. "Uh, I did not go every day..."
"What days exactly?"
"Why?"
"How many days?"
"Uhm, did I mention..." Ash smiled nervously. "I stopped going to gym five months ago?"
Leaf was walking on the corridor when she heard Misty's yell. She instantly stopped walking.
"HOW CARELESS CAN YOU GET? AND PLUS, YOU'VE BEEN LYING TO ME ALL THIS TIME! YOU KNOW WHAT, ASH? YOU CHEATED YOURSELF, NOT ME!"
Gary joined Leaf. He hugged her from behind. "Hum? What?"
She looked at him, beaming. "Ash and Misty made up."
"Really?"
"AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN EATING WHILE I WAS GONE?"
Leaf and Gary both looked frightened. They looked at Misty's room door.
"Yep, they did."
