Chapter Two

As I awoke from my deep slumber my eyes were open but I couldn't see anything. Intense throbbing started pounding my head. When I tried to stand up to feel my way around the dark and eerie room my bones were so tired and exhausted I was having a hard time moving.

I could feel a low burn rush throughout my body but then the fire started to gather around my throat. I couldn't breath, the fiery heat was cutting off my air. The pain was searing, like someone was pouring something really hot down my throat. My breaths became jagged and sharp. I could feel my whole body jerk violently, as if to shake off the fire. My heart quickened and the fire spread through my body, staying as continually fervent as it had been in my neck. My heart slowed, but not to its normal pace, it was slowing down completely. I clutched my head, the migraine was unbearable. What was happening to me?

I was panicking. Fear overtaking my thoughts. How am I going to get out of here? Where is here?
Why didn't he just kill me? Why am I being held against my will? What does he want?
Small crystal beads began to trail down my cheeks releasing my misery and sorrow. I began to let out a heart wrenching wail.

Then a bright light shone in, blinding my light-deprived eyes for moments. I slowly opened my eyes to see my surroundings only to find myself in a cage.
Then I caught the sight of the monster. Damian. He looked at me intently and then a grin arose from his lips.

"How are you liking the change of scenery?" He chuckled.

I looked at him in disgust.

"What not fashionable enough for a girl like you?" He laughed menacingly. "How about I throw in a few throw pillows and a blanket? Would that make you feel more at home?"

I wanted to answer him with a remark but the fiery pain began to escalate. Sweat began trickling down my body.

"Oh I almost forgot," He turned his back to me and walked towards what looked like another cage. "I was saving her for you, she smells delicious." He smacked his lips at the last part. The girl looked about two years younger than me and she looked like she had been starved for a long time as she was very weak and didn't fight Damian as he pulled her to her feet once he opened the cage.

"What you're experiencing right now is called transitioning," He directed to me. "You need fresh blood to complete it or you will die." He walked back to my cage with the young girl.

"Wh...what do you mean transition?" I asked very weakly not understanding what he meant.

"When I bit you and fed you my blood, you became to transition into a vampire." He answered with out blinking.

A vampire. I've heard stories of these creatures but I always thought they were just made up stories to scare little children. I didn't believe anything could possibly exist. But yet again what I'd witnessed last night would pretty much some up that they are real, and Damian was one of them.

"A vampire," I found it hard to open my mouth to speak the word. The word felt cursed.

"Yes, now drink," He opened the cage and grabbed the young girl and pulled her hair away exposing her neck. I could hear her heart beat pounding my ears. Damian drew his finger at her pulse, a drop of blood spilled out and the scent of the blood hit me.

With every fibre of my being I tried to fight the urge to sink my teeth into her neck but it was too late. As my mouth was at her neck I could feel big sharp teeth extract as the blood enveloped my taste buds.
The blood was rich and sank deep into my throat. All things good were poured into this lush bit of blood. My lips felt radiant and soft making me feel like if I had to give up my whole life for one more drop, I would do it in a heart beat. The blood kept coming and at each drop that soaked in my mouth made me feel like I was glowing.

The girls body slumped down onto the floor and I backed away at the act of transgression which made me grow more and more guilty for taking the young girls life away.

I became a monster.

~~~
Well that's my story of how I became a vampire. I don't really understand why he turned me though. There was a lot I didn't understand. I mean I totally don't get how I escaped from Damian. It was like I teleported somehow because one morning I found myself lying on the ground in a huddle of leaves in a forest. Maybe that's why I feel so drawn to nature. Coincidence I think not.
My stomach began to growl again, I better get blood soon or else I'll go on some mad killing spree. Trust me it's happened before.
