White noise rings in my ears
Like the echo when you hold a shell to your ears
Only sharper, like the tang of a tangerine.

I'm encompassed by the night,
Which bounces off the walls and covers me like a blanket.
Only it's somewhat suffocating yet tranquil at the same time.

The glow of the screen burns into my skin
And drys my eyes as time stands
Still and I aimlessly try to forget
Existence.

Time
Stands
Still

And yet I'm counting down the hours until the stress stings my skin. And the numbness increases and sprints through my bones.
