Chapter 5: Sealed!
(Your POV)
My eyes opened once again to see I was lying down in the same spot I originally in, so I immediately sat up and checked around my body for any signs of injury but there was surprisingly nothing. I then looked around me once more to look for Tohka, but no luck. That was until I saw Gonta and Tenko crouching beside me, they originally looked somewhat distressed, but they brightened up upon seeing I was fine.
"(Y/N), don't scare us like that!" Tenko punched my arm worriedly, still eyeing my body to check for injuries. "What happened? You were suddenly shot with a weird looking arrow, so we all got worried about you."
"I'm fine, but where are the others?" I asked my two friends, both of whom nervously scratched the back of their necks.
"Well they were forced to stay back, because Kotori wouldn't teleport the others, but Gonta and Tenko knew you needed help." Gonta determinedly said, which confused me because that doesn't explain how they got here.
"Long story short, Gonta and I busted through a window and came here." Tenko deadpanned, forcing me to immediately get worried for my two friends because the <Fraxinus> is a freaking airship. "Don't ask us how we landed."
"I'm more concerned as to how neither of you died...again!" I shouted before noticing purple light coming from the mountains close by. "What's that?"
"Tohka's currently fighting Origami because she thinks Origami's the one that shot you with the arrow." Tenko then pulls out her phone to show me a video of Origami firing a bullet and the man firing the arrow. "However, King's arrow cut Origami's bullet in half, so he's the one that got you with the arrow."
"As mad as I am about getting shot in the back by a man who I never met but looks like me, I can't let Tohka kill Origami." I pulled <Amaterasu> out of my pocket and began making my way towards where the two girls were fighting, but I was stopped when Gonta put a hand on my shoulder.
"Let Gonta go first, Gonta doesn't want any of you getting hurt." My friend offered, but I had to refuse because sure he's crazy strong, but he's still human beneath that unnecessarily large frame.
"I appreciate the concern, but you needn't worry." I commented, preparing to activate <Sun Painter Amaterasu>. "However, If you two could find a way to distract Origami long enough for me to seal off Tohka's power, then I'd be grateful."
"But how?" Tenko asked, while Gonta began looking around the mountainside. "Origami's got guns and skills under her belt, even if Gonta's crazy strong, I don't it's enough to distract someone like her."
"Gonta could possibly throw that boulder and create a dust cloud." Gonta pointed at a nearby boulder, which was roughly the height of Tenko and relatively round. "Gonta doesn't want to hurt anyone ever again, Gonta want to save people like a gentleman!"
"If you're sure you can, I think I can come up with a plan." I sighed and wrote 'courageous' on my arm. "Tenko, you're gonna try to get Tohka to calm down, I'll enhance your agility with Amaterasu, and I'll take care of Origami. Gonta, when I give the signal, I want you to throw that boulder at Origami, who will then shoot at the boulder."
"But what if Origami doesn't shoot the boulder, then she'll get hurt." Gonta pointed out, causing me to nod to show I know. "I don't want to end up hurting her, that's not what gentlemen do."
"Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of hurting Origami either." I sighed and asked for Tenko's hand so I could write 'agile' and 'sturdy' on it. "However, if we do nothing, Tohka and/or Origami will surely die."
"Very well then." Gonta determinedly clenched his fist and I saw a fire in his eyes. "Gonta will do his best!"
"Alright, does anyone have any objections to my plan." I asked the two, then Tenko raised her hand. "Tenko, if your objection is 'I'd rather die than follow a male like you', I'd like you to remember that you're the idiot who jumped outside an airship alongside insect-loving Speedwagon."
"Close, but that's not it." Tenko smirks before pointing at Tohka. "Trust me, I can handle Origami on my own, so long as it's just defending. You need to talk to Tohka, let's be real here, she's stressed and you're the only person she really trusts."
"I'm sorry did your entire character arc just do a 180?" I asked in a concerned voice, followed by Tenko punching me in the jaw, forcing me to look upwards. "Ah look, there it is."
"Okay, now that's out of the way, let's begin Operation Pucker Up Degenerate!" Tenko determinedly shouted, followed by her grabbing my arm and dragging me towards the site of the battle.
The three of us ran towards Tohka and Origami, neither of whom seemed to notice me, so I gestured for my two friends to hold back and activated <Sun Painter Amaterasu>. The brilliant pillar of flames attracted the attention of both Origami and Tohka, both of whom seemed surprised I was still alive. I quickly used <Sun Painter Amaterasu> to write a series of kanji on the soles of my feet, allowing me to gain a significant speed boost in the process.
I used this speedboost to get between Origami and Tohka, followed by me painting a line between the two. I dodged out of the way for the two, since they were about to clash once again. Unfortunately for them, a wall of golden flames burst forth from the painted line, high enough to rival the mountains that surrounded us. Lucky for me, I was on the same side of the line as Tohka. I looked at my friends to see they moved from their original spot, signaling that they started their part of the plan. The flames were going to disperse soon, so I needed to seal off her power quickly.
"Tohka it's me, (Y/N)!" I signaled to the girl while also running towards her, allowing me to see some tears dripping down her face. "Wha-? Did I do something wrong? Why are you crying?"
"You scared me!" Tohka shouted before running towards me and tackling me into a hug, crying her eyes out into my shirt, yet somehow I managed to stay standing. "Please don't ever take a bullet for me like that again!"
"Tohka...I'm sorry I scared you like that." I deeply sighed and gently brushed Tohka's hair to calm her down. "I just wanted to protect you, I didn't want to cause any pain for you."
"Just...don't do it again." Tohka pleads after tugging on my shirt. "I want to go on more dates with you, I want to have more fun with you."
"And we'll go on more dates in the future." I consoled the fire as the flames began dispersing, signaling that my little trick was about to run out. "Tohka, we need to go, now."
"I can't (Y/N)." Tohka gestured to her greatsword, which seemed to be overflowing with energy. "<Halvanhelev> has reached its critical state, and now the energy needs to be released."
"Don't worry about that Tohka." I separated from Tohka and pointed the tip of <Sun Painter Amaterasu> at Tohka, making a small dot on her forehead. "So Tohka, I had a question...would you like to live in this world even without your powers? You could have friends, family, a life, and as much food as you'd like."
"If it means I can stay in this beautiful world with you, then I'll gladly accept." Tohka smiles, allowing me to try sealing her powers, just as the golden flames behind us finally disappeared completely.
I quickly used <Sun Painter Amaterasu> to write '盗む' on Tohka's forehead at such high speeds, I didn't even hear the bristles move until I was done. Once I was officially done writing, both Tohka's outfit and greatsword disappeared in a flash of light. I was caught way off guard by this, mostly because Tohka was now naked, I should have sealed her powers in a more private setting. I kept calm despite the obvious blush on my face, and used my jacket to cover the now naked Tohka up.
"Gonta, now!" I signaled to my Goliath of a friend, who nodded and picked up the boulder we found earlier with surprising ease, and then he threw it at Origami. "Now move!"
Origami did just as I predicted and shot at the boulder, creating a massive dust cloud in the process. I signaled to my friends to follow me before picking up Tohka with my arms and using my teeth to grip <Sun Painter Amaterasu>. Tenko and Gonta both ran towards me, and saw a very red-faced Tohka only being covered up by my jacket, so Gonta took off his coat and offered it to the poor girl.
Tenko made sure both my jacket and Gonta's coat were firmly wrapped around Tohka, who was still pretty embarrassed. The three of us started running away from the spot we were in while Origami was still busy with the dust cloud, giving us a clean getaway. The three of us kept on running until we were behind a nearby building, allowing us to catch our breaths.
"T-Thanks (Y/N)." Tohka thanked me before hiding her red face in my chest, making things awkward for everyone. "B-But can w-we get something t-to cover me up?"
"Yeah we should probably call <Ratatoskr> to let them know we need a ride and some clothes." Tenko pulls her phone out of her pocket and begins texting someone, presumably Kotori. "However, I'll let them know you want to be in the same room as her changing (Y/N)."
"Since when did I say that?!" I barked in annoyance, making Tohka laugh at my reaction before yawning. "Oh hey, Tohka, you tired?"
"Hm?" Tohka looked up at me before yawning again, kind of reminding me of a cat for some reason. "Yeah, I guess I am a little tired."
"Well it's okay to sleep, we can handle introductions after you get some shuteye." I smiled softly at the girl, who then snuggled into my chest. "Goodnight Princess."
"Goodnight, (Y/N)..." Tohka then fell into a depth slumber after muttering those words, allowing Tenko to hold in stifled laughter.
"Well that must feel good for a degenerate like you, doesn't it (Y/N)?"
"You know, I am seriously questioning how you're still alive."
"I don't know, plot convenience?"
(Timeskip, brought to you by Gonta carrying Tenko, while the girl carried (Y/N), who was carrying Tohka)
After a thorough scolding from Kotori and getting Tohka to a bed, albeit a hospital bed, we all managed to visit the sleeping beauty after Reine put some clothes on her and checked her vitals. All of us were awkwardly standing around the room, waiting for Tohka to wake up since she was pretty exhausted. Kaito and I were sitting in chairs next to each other, discussing our victory.
"Man you should have seen Kotori's face when Gonta busted through that window." Kaito laughed as he took a sip out of his bottle, which I'm going to assume is an energy drink. "It was all like 'someone fill that hole in or else!', and Miu had to use one of her inventions to repair the ship!"
"Still, that doesn't explain how he and Tenko managed to get to the ground without so much as a scratch." I calmly responded. "I mean, this thing's got to be at least 500 meters in the sky."
"Oh yeah, Rantaro gave them parachutes." Kaito informed me, causing the green haired individual in question to look at me and smirk with a wink. "Didn't they tell you?"
"Why does he have spare parachutes on hand?" I asked curiously, making Kaito give me a deadpan stare, followed by Kokichi sitting down next to me.
"What kind of idiot would willingly go on an airship without packing a few parachutes?" Kokichi asked before placing his hands behind his head and kicking back.
"Aye, fair enough." I then noticed Tohka was waking up, and felt myself get more excited. "Oh look, Tohka's awake."
"Where am I?" Tohka asked adorably, causing everyone to suddenly surround her with proud expressions, not that I blame them, sealing her off was a team effort.
"You're on the <Fraxinus>." Kirumi informed the girl, who still looked pretty confused and overwhelmed with the sudden inclusion of people here. "(Y/N) sealed off your powers so you could live your life as a human."
"Praise Atua it worked!" Angie shouted whilst pumping her fist into the air. "We honestly got pretty worried when (Y/N) was shot with that weird looking arrow."
"Still, that arrow looked kind of familiar in my opinion..." Kirumi commented before handing Tohka a sheet of paper. "This paper contains all of our names and faces...you can read, correct?"
"Yeah, I understand these letters, thanks...Kirumi." Tohka thanked the girl, then the maid handed Tohka a portable table filled with food. "Eh, what's this for?!"
"We managed to seal off a spirit, so we should celebrate to our heart's content!" Kaito shouted enthusiastically. "Despite the obvious shock, we're still happy to meet you, Tohka."
"It's nice to meet you too...Kaito." Tohka had to look at the paper to figure out the astronaut's name. "So what are we going to do now? Go on a date?"
"Wait your turn sister, you're not the only one who wants to go on a date with (Y/N)!" Miu shouted whilst wrapping her arm around my shoulder. "It's my turn next time!"
"I didn't realize you girls were taking turns with the poor guy." Ryoma commented in a sarcastic voice. "In all seriousness, wouldn't it be a better idea for (Y/N) to get a break?"
"That does sound nice." I commented, thinking I could use that time for painting, but then again I have work. "Wait, school's back in session tomorrow."
"It is?" Ryoma asked in disbelief, it's only been two days since that classroom was destroyed, so it's surprising to hear that the room's already been fixed. "Damn, they work fast."
"If that's the case, we'll have to ask Reine to enroll Tohka into school." Korekiyo commented before he noticed Kaede standing next to him, staring at Miu with jealousy. "Kaede, you're going to have to speak up if you want something."
"Eh?" Kaede asked in confusion, which made Korekiyo facepalm his head. What do you mean by that."
"I should have said 'someone' instead of 'something'." Korekiyo scolds himself before shaking his head. "Either way, we have another announcement to make."
"Oh?" I wondered what the announcement could be, as did everyone else except for Kirumi. "What is it?"
"There are rumors of the AST getting a new unit, one that is more dangerous than the previous units." Kirumi informed us, which honestly didn't seem like that big of a deal.
"Well let's just hope this isn't foreshadowing."
(Timeskip, brought to you by Tohka bringing in a stuffed bear and everyone ,except for (Y/N), Kotori, and Reine, panicked before leaving the room)
All of us were now back in school, sitting around the classroom, chatting to one another before classes officially got started. I was currently talking to Kaede about the current homework assignment, and Kaito decided to join in because he didn't do it. Unfortunately, Kokichi and Tohka weren't enrolled in this school, so they weren't with us. Those two aside, the bell rang and forced us to our seats, with Kaede to my left and Gonta behind me.
"Okay students, before we begin the lesson, we have two new students coming in today." Ms.Tamae informed us with a clap of her hands, oh gee, I wonder who it could be... "You two may come in now."
The doors slide open to let a familiar pair of people walk into the classroom, one of which was a girl with curious eyes and the other was a boy with a mischievous smile. Of course, these two were none other than Tohka and Kokichi, surprise surprise. Both of them were now wearing the school uniforms, but Kokichi had his bandana on, not that surprising, given how Kaito and I still wear our jackets and Korekiyo wears his mask.
"Could you two introduce yourselves to the class." Ms.Tamae asked the two, but then I noticed Kaito looked pissed about something, oh wait, Kaito still kind of dislikes Kokichi now that the build-a-bear wannabe isn't an issue for them.
"Very well then." Kokichi writes his name on the blackboard behind him with chalk, followed by writing something else. "My name is Kokichi Ouma, The Ultimate Supreme Leader."
"Of what?!" The entire class said in unison, with Kokichi's smile turning even more creepy.
"I'm Tohka Yatogami." Tohka introduces herself before bowing in front of the class. "I hope we could all get along!"
"She's so cute." All the males of the class mutually agreed, but I'm willing to bet my friends meant she reminded them of a child and the others had other intentions.
"So let me find out your seating chart..." Ms.Tamae looks around but Tohka ignores that and starts walking towards me.
"Don't worry Ms.Tamae, Tohka and I already found where we'll be sitting." Kokichi smirked while Tohka sat down in the seat on the other side of me, while Kokichi took a seat next to Kaito.
"Very well then, let's begin." Ms.Tamae erases Kokichi's name and begins writing stuff on the white board. "Let's start off with a history lesson, in America 1890, the Steel Ball Run took place..."
I looked around me to see Tohka was already bored, I kind of felt insulted, because history was actually rather interesting once you take the time to actually care. On the other hand, Kaede was looking eager to learn about this, taking notes and asking questions from time to time. I was doing the same as Kaede, but I was using my paintbrush to paint the scenes from the Steel Ball Run instead of taking notes. Admittedly, I wasn't the best when it came to words, so I painted instead.
Admittedly, I'm not the strongest guy out there. In fact, Kokichi could easily defeat me in a 1v1 if it wasn't for Amaterasu. So it shouldn't be too surprising that I rely solely on my paintbrush, but for once in my life, I felt my heart filled with something...accomplishment.
I guess I managed to give <Amaterasu> a new purpose.
(A/N: There you have it folks! The Tohka arc is finally over and it took...five chapters! That honestly took way longer than I expected, but I'm hopeful that you guys enjoyed it. As for the Danganronpa characters (I can never spell that name right), I plan on doing a subplot for them that (Y/N) will somewhat be involved in. One final thing, don't worry too much about the arrow you saw at the beginning of the chapter, you should only care about it when Kurumi shows up. Wait, does that count as a spoiler? The vast majority of people like Kurumi, so she'd have to be in this book.
