When Marley was woken up by shouting coming from the living room she sighed and sat herself up rubbing her eyes and throwing on a hoodie and some socks.

"You can't just come in and take over mum! It's my house" she heard Remus shout

"Remus I will do as I please now go and prepare" hope Lupin spoke calmly.

When Marley entered the living room the furniture had been moved around, it looked cosier but that was one of hopes flaws. She couldn't just leave things the way they were.

"Hi Nan" she was instantly pulled into a hug by the older woman.

"God Marley your wasting away" hope said as she inspected her granddaughter.

"Good to see you too" she gave her a sarcastic smile.

Marley checked the time to see that it was only half nine in the morning, she looked down the hall to see both her brothers bedroom doors closed. Still asleep she thought. She went in the fridge and got out a couple of eggs and the half empty bag of grated cheese.

"Dad go and wake the boys up please" she called into the living room where Remus was standing by the window with a lit cigarette blowing smoke out of the gap.

"I'll do it sweetheart" hope stood from the couch and made her way down the hall.

Marley was finished cooking the scrambled egg by the time both of her brothers were up and she shouted them to sit at the table.

"Here you go" Marley placed plates of scrambled egg and cheese infront of her brothers.

"Thanks marls" jamie said as he woofed down his food.

Marley kissed the top of finans head and took the mug of steaming coffee from her dads hands sipping at it as she brought in two more bowls for her Nan and dad.

"I've already ate sweetheart, been on the train up from Wales all morning. I can't get through that without food" hope laughed.

Remus had made the decision to buy a house just outside of London and it was a poorly made choice in Marley's eyes. They were too far away from there Nan it would have been easier on her if they had just moved to Wales but every time Marley brought it up to Remus he would freak out and say that they had to stay here, he'd start rambling on about the person who gave him the money to buy it and Marley didn't make the effort to acknowledge it.

"Okay so I'm going to have a bath and when I come back out you two have to get going" hope pointed at her son and eldest grandson.

"We're about are you going this time" Finan asked.

"I was thinking about forest dean, haven't been there for a while have we" Remus nudged jamie who was staring off into space.

Whilst hope used the bathroom Marley got the two tattered old backpacks from the coat cupboard and started to fill them with spare clothes for both her brother and dad. She climbed on the kitchen counter to reach the top cupboard that had an emergency stash of chocolate and put a bar in each bag. When she was done she took them to the living room and gave them to Jamie and Remus.

"Okay you both know the rules, dad once you've apperated there the transformation should be close so hide the bags and then get as far away from eachother as you can" Marley said like they hadn't heard this speech before. "Try to stay separate so you don't hurt eachother." She nodded.

"We know kid" Remus said as he stood from his chair. "I'm going to see if your mum will get up" he turned to leave.

"Like that's going to work" Jamie scoffed.

When Jamie and Remus finally left hope had gotten a carrier bag out of her bag and laid the contents out on the kitchen counter. It was ingredients for some sort of meal that Marley knew better than to ask or she'd be roped into helping. Finan on the other hand loved helping their Nan cook.

A loud bang came from down the hall and Marley rolled her eyes getting up off the couch and making her way to her parents room. When she went in she expected her mum to be in the same position she always was, curled up in the corner of her bed with the covers over her face. This time was different she was standing at her wardrobe with clothing in each hand.

"Marley, there you are" she said in a dazed voice, "I was just looking for my dress, the party is in an hour" Faye turned too look at her daughter. "You need to get ready to go love hurry up" she made her way across the room.

"Mum there isn't a party, come with me let's get you in the shower" she wrapped her arm around her mum and led her out of the room.

"We're is your dad" she still had that voice on like she was on a different planet.

"He and Jamie have left already, it's a full moon tonight" she sat her mum on the closed toilet seat and knelt to start undressing her.

Once Faye was undressed Marley helped her get into the shower and she sat on the floor of the bath tub. Marley was used to this, she'd been trying to get her mum to snap out of the trance she was in for years but nothing worked so she had finally given up and just started to do everything herself.

She waited for the water to get warm and then started running it over her mum, trying to get rid of any smells that had built up over the last two weeks of laying in bed. Sometimes Faye wouldn't put up a fight and just let her daughter take care of her but the last two weeks any time Marley tried she would lash out and throw things that had left Marley injured one to many times.

"I'm sorry marls" Faye half whispered almost sounding normal.

"It's okay mum, now let's do your hair. Can you grab me that bottle of shampoo" she pointed to the green bottle on the edge of the bath.

Faye went quiet again just watching the water go down the drain as her daughter washed her matted mess of dark hair. When Marley was done she dried her off and brushed her hair through so it looked neat. She though it was best not to push her luck and just settled on putting her in a clean pair of pyjamas.

"Nans here, come and eat something with us" Marley pleaded.

Faye just nodded and allowed herself to be led to the dining room. When the food was ready Marley had to help her eat earning a disapproving look from hope who thought that Faye was an awful person and didn't know why her son would settle for her.

"So Marley sweet heart is it tomorrow that your going back to school?" Hope asked trying to liven up the table.

"Day after" she said between bites of food.

"Well this one is in safe hands with me" she put her hand over Finans.

"I know he is" Marley smiled.

When the food was finished with Marley sat her mum on the couch and she zoned out again. Hope was obviously trying to make her react with little comments here and there and it wasn't working until she said that she might take Finan down to Wales with her. Marley was making tea in the kitchen when she heard a smack and feral screaming and followed by Finan racing into the kitchen and hiding behind his sister. Marley let out a sigh.

"Go to your room and lock the door, I'll come and get you when it's over" she kissed his head and he ran down the hall.

When she entered the living room hope had a a knowing smirk on her face with her wand in her hand blocking all the things that Faye was throwing as she screamed at her.

"Mum!" Marley shouted but was ignored.

Without even thinking of her own well being she made her way over to her side and grabbed a hold of her arms that were swinging around and hitting her in the process. She felt a trickle of blood coming from near her eyebrow.

"Mum, it's me! Calm down" she fought back tears.

"Marley-mae" Faye calmed ever so slightly making eye contact with her daughter.

"Yeah mum, it's Marley" she placed her hands on her shoulders.

"Oh. Oh love your bleeding" she reached up and tried to wipe away the blood just making it spread.

"It's fine mum. Come on let's get you back to bed" she smiled and walked her mum back to her room.

When she had gotten her settled she fell right back into that comatose state and covered her head with the blanket again. Marley made her way back to the living room to find hope tiding up the mess with her wand.

"You all should have been put in my custody the second she started acting like that," she looked over at her granddaughter. "I mean what kind of mother hurts her child" she walked over and inspected to cut on Marley's face.

"You provoked her" Marley snatched her head away, "she didn't mean to hurt me"

The girl grabbed the first aid kid from over by the window and rooted through it. When she'd found the antiseptic she quickly covered the cut in it and packed the kit away again.

"Want me to fix it" hope smiled.

"Fine but be quick" she crossed her arms defiantly.

After a minute or so the stinging stopped and she was left with a tidy little scar were the blood had just been coming from.

"Well then I think it's time for bed" hope chirped.

"Your in Jamie's room tonight then when we go you can have mine" Marley smiled at the old woman and made her way to finans room.

"Finn" she knocked on his door, "it's Marley you can come out now"

The door was flung open and he instantly wrapped his arms around his sisters torso. She followed into his room and sat on the end of his bed.

"Did she hurt you" he said sadly.

"Nothing I can't handle kid" she ruffled his hair. "Now it's bedtime so get some sleep, Jamie and dad will be back before your even awake okay?" She placed her head on his.

"Promise?"

"I promise" she smiled. "If you wake up through the night just come in my room okay"

He nodded and Marley kissed his head before leaving to go back to her room. She looked in on her mum hearing soft snores and then check on hope in Jamie's room.

"He's gonna kill you when he's back" Marley raised her brows at the now clean room.

"The boy was living in a pigsty" she laughed.

"Your funeral Nan" she laughed, "there's a reason I don't clean his room for him, he has dads temper"

as she turned to leave she heard hope say "you all have your dads temper" too which she rolled her eyes at.

She opened the curtains in her room letting the full moon shine in and closed her eyes as she felt the light on her skin. She could hardly ever sleep the night of the full moon because she spent it worrying about her brother. Apparently Finan had trouble too because at half three in the morning he came into his sisters room and climbed in her bed falling asleep as soon as he did.
