I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"And you didn't even consult any of us?!" Humility raged, raising his voice and it made my insides queasy. "How could you do this after what happened to Jieun? It's dangerous already and what's more, you made an agreement that's favorable for Envy!"

"This is what I've wanted to do for a long time now," Kindness reasoned calmly. "There's still unresolved issues between us."

"I can't do this."

Humility disappeared and left the five of us in the meeting room. Silence hung heavy in the air as we did nothing but stare at each other from across the table.

"Well that's awkward." Diligence coughed.

Silence ensued.

"Really. Don't worry, guys. I can handle myself," Kindness said with a small smile. "Let's leave?"

"We hope you can," Temperance said and disappeared. The rest of us followed suit and I teleported back to my place in the clouds. I dropped my body on the hammock, still in disbelief, and let the thoughts about Kindness freely take over my mind.

I couldn't understand why Kindness was doing all that for one person. For her enemy above all. Sure, they had history but that's what it was. History. It was just one person she was willing to bet her life for. I could never understand.

Not only her but Charity was being strange. She was acting all friendly with Greed but they suddenly became so hostile with each other. Honestly, things were not looking good for us. Maybe not me because Wrath was still the same as ever. No matter what happened, Wrath was acting the same as he did with me.

I brushed my fingers across the cloud, feeling cool air caress my skin. I kept repeating that, hoping it soothed my mind. After hours, when it didn't calm my mind, I teleported to earth and roamed some streets.

"Surprise!"

I jumped in shock because of the loud voice right behind my back and fell to the ground on my knees. Wrath got startled and dropped to the ground to pick me up.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry!" He chuckled.

I held my chest and glared at his blissful face. "What the heck?! And you're laughing?!"

"Sorry," he whined with a chuckle, making me scoff.

"Your voice is always too loud, you know? I have a weak heart so don't do that," I nagged, still glaring at him like I wanted to punch him. "Why did you do that anyway?"

"Here."

He held up a smiley badge and I gawked at it.

"What's this?"

His lips stretched into a grin. "A smile."

I got even more confused. "For what?"

"For making you smile of course."

I took it out of courtesy. "Why are you giving me this? I'm your enemy."

He was taken aback by my comment but clarified, "By force. We were forced to be enemies, right?"

A chuckle left me. "You're saying that when the others are trying to tear each other apart."

"Are you?"

I stared at him. "Am I what?"

"Are you trying to tear me apart?"

"I... I'm not trying to..." I said, unsure.

He smiled warmly. "Then we're all good, no? We don't have personal grudges against each other like the others. I know you're reasonable enough to respect me. And of course, I respect you."

He was making sense so I had no reason to shout at him to come at me. I scanned the smiley badge he gave me. It looked so cheap and cliche. Something grade schoolers would put on their clothes.

I cocked an eyebrow in a judging manner. "To make me smile?" I laughed. "This thing will make me smile?"

"Aha! But you smiled just now!" He pointed at my face and I smiled, rolling my eyes.

"You're so dumb."

"And you, my friend, will go to the amusement park with me in return for that badge." He locked our arms and pulled me to walk with him. "Let's go!"

He teleported us to a park and asked me to make myself visible so that we could ride on the attractions to which I did. He whipped out cash from his black pants pocket and handed it to the cashier to buy tickets. He bought too many as if we were going to stay overnight.

"I hope I can see you have different expressions than annoyance with these," he said and gave me tickets.

"Don't get your hopes up."

Not long after I said that, I was cheering like crazy when playing on the attractions and pulling him around the whole place, trying to ride different ones. His laughter mingled with mine and I was experiencing a thrill I never knew before. When the rides were scary, I grabbed his arm for help, but the hilarious thing was, he was the was clinging to me for his dear life, screaming his head off like when we dropped on the gyro drop.

"I think I'm gonna throw up," he mumbled, dropping on the park bench with a pale face.

I split my sides laughing at him. "You were so confident when you dragged me here. The heck? You okay?"

"Just give me a minute," he muttered with a scratchy voice.

I sat beside him and watched the clear azure sky filled with clouds of different shapes. A can of soda floated in the corner of my eyes and it landed on my lap. I thanked Wrath since it was probably his powers.

"Wanna try haunted house next?" I teased.

He let out a weak scream. "Please spare me!"

"My gosh, bro, you're literally a soul? What's there to be afraid of in a man-made haunted house?"

"You're really enjoying yourself," he chuckled and sat up beside me. "We need this after what's happening with Envy and Lust."

I turned to him in surprise. Did he do this for that?

"I know I shouldn't be scared anymore. But what's left of my previous life is still with me." He sighed, looking up at the sky. "For the same reason, you don't like loud voices, right? I'm sorry my voice is loud."

I stared at him in awe. He knew that. And he was even apologizing for that.

"I actually were the same, but to battle that, I made my own voice louder... If you're loud, people think you're strong. I tried to appear strong."

When he grew quiet, I tried to fill in the silence. "I see... It's okay. You don't have to apologize."

He looked at me and I felt something I hadn't felt before. His warm eyes captured mine in a comforting grip and the smile he gave me made my lips curl up into one as well. I wasn't sure if what I was doing was right, but it was comforting and calming. And that's all I wanted.
