Do I care?

The day was just like the other days. I roamed around humans to carry out my duty to get Diligence and Humility off my ass- back. My back, I meant. Sheesh.

No, they were literally behind my back, following me around earth and my incessant yapping wasn't shooing them off. Rats.

"I said scram! I'm literally working now, what more do you want?!"

Diligence chuckled while Humility silently stared me down like he was about to scold his child. Wait, that would be illegal. He's not that older than me.

I was losing the context.

"Go do your own duties, you two faced boys," I complained, shooing them like flies. Which they were.

"I mean, it's almost the time for our Meeting with the seven Deadly Sins," Humility said, making me realize. We were always holding meetings with them regularly for whatever reason. It wasn't effective anyway so why bother all the time? Less time for myself.

A ring was heard in my head and he nodded at Diligence and I. I heaved a sigh before following him to Heaven where the others were already gathered, slapping each other's arms and giggling like children. As soon as they saw us, they quickly formed a circle and held hands before we all chanted, "Nous allons vous sauvez du mal." (Trans: We will save you from evil.) I swear we were not in a cult, please.

We teleported to the joint room which was empty for some reason. The Sins were late. The seven of us took our seats around the round wooden table and waited for them to arrive. Humility and Diligence were complaining as per usual, and God and Lucy- whoever arrived. It took way too long for the Sins to appear in front of us with no guilt whatsoever.

"Took you long enough," Humility spat.

"You were waiting for us?" Pride, the intimidating looking chestnut haired man sang teasingly. "Aww, you shouldn't have."

Everyone exchanged dirty looks with each other, and not the kind you might think. Eyes filled with hatred glared at each other. But not Wrath. The man was incomprehensible. He just nodded his head at me out of curtesy and I returned the same.

"Oh come on now, guys! Stop murdering each others with your eyes," the devilish thing exclaimed before turning to the Sins to order, "Sins, take your seats."

The Meeting commenced and we talked about the same old boring shit. Sins and Virtues arguing, what's new?

Suddenly, Chastity and Lust were making a deal. What?

"If you can prove me that every man in this world is worthless like you say, I'll stop bothering you and get relieved from duty," the dumb peanut headed girl said so confidently that I had to make sure I was hearing correctly. The other Virtues and I gasped in unison because what?!

"Hey, what is she saying?!" Temperance panicked, turning to Humility who was frozen with wide eyes.

Lust agreed and everything else was a blur. The two basically formed an agreement that cost their lives. The idiot peanut was smiling like an idiot and I couldn't believe it. She pissed Lust off for some reason and there they stood, agreeing like idiots.

"I accept," Lust boomed, looking angrier than usual.

"Now what do I always tell you guys," Wrath whined, "you shouldn't make a decision when you're angry! What do you think-"

"Shut up," the purple haired girl hissed, making him scowl. That was new.

"Well then, you two are dismissed from this Meeting," God announced. "Be sure to notify us all when you complete your agreement."

Just like that?!

The two idiots disappeared along with some others, leaving us Virtues to form a circle around Humility with our arms crossed, giving him disapproving looks. He tried to defend himself by saying nonsense like Chastity didn't consult with him first. Temperance scolded him while the others were panicking until the idiot peanut arrived.

"What's up, guys?" She smiled, full of happiness.

"What in the fuck are you doing, the fuck?!"

"You dumb dumb dumber than a dumbass-"

"What's up?! What do you think?!"

"You just ruined your whole afterlife!"

Everyone started ranting and scolding her until she covered her head with her hands, squealing like a baby chick. Kindness grabbed her shoulders and shook her whole body while spilling curse words like a fountain. I could hear some words I had never heard people say.

"Guys, I know what I'm doing, please!" She held her hands up in defense. "It's just a teeny tiny bit of sacrifice to do the right thing. Trust me. There's 99 percent chance that I will make it out fine."

"What about the one percent," I asked, finally voicing my opinion and how I wasn't fine with what was going to happen to her.

Chastity looked at me in shock as if I said something right. It made me think twice about what I said, but she smiled.

"It's a sacrifice I can bear."

After hours of complaining from the other Virtues, we had to part ways to do our own things. I imagined so many scenarios where things could go wrong for her. Why did she even do that? To remove Lust out of her way? Would it work?

"Hey, Anhye."

I frowned, hearing the familiar boisterous voice and sighed, seeing the red haired man beside me. "Wrath."

"Call me Hoseok. Or even Hobi!"

"Hoe-be-gone."

I started walking away from him and as usual, he jogged up to me with a pout.

"I'm not a hoe."

"Sure," I dismissed him and continued to walk.

"How do you feel about Lust and Chastity?"

I stopped in my tracks to give him a 'what are you trying to do' look. He held up his hands and said it was because it was so strange and sudden. Since they were close, this could affect them, too. But why should I care?

"It's their business," I simply said and teleported to a place without him.
