6| Terms And Conditions

I had a warm welcome of glares from my impatient boss who seemed rather annoyed with my casual actions. He picked the fake act of greeting me enthusiastically when I apologized and entered the mysterious man-made aura.

"So... should we get to the numbers?" There was something about his ethereally sculpted face that wore intimidating feature but a stoicism contradicted other emotions clearly. I nodded in response. "How much do want me to pay you?"

It didn't take much time to think about the amount because Yumi and I already had a big discussion about that. "696k won."

The Jungkook guy and Taehyung exchanged a glance before looking at me with lingering confusion. "Why 696k?" The goofier one questioned with a slight wriggle of brows while Taehyung avoided being a part of the conversation.

It was so obvious for them to question my choice of such a random number, but I had an explanation. "696 is my lucky number. I bought a lottery ticket with this number a few years ago and won a mixer grinder as first prize and also once—"

"I'll consider that as enough knowledge." Taehyung interrupted while the other male let out a breathy chuckle. There was a constant exchange of glares between the two which made me slightly uncomfortable. "Sticking to my words, I agree to this but I have some conditions too." He pulled out some confidential sheets of paper. "Let me read it for you and explain in a lucid language." He fixed the clear glasses on the bridge of his nose and read a point to me and started the explanation for it. "Well, this one means you can't quit your job on your consent. My agreement matters."

He looked at me asking if he needed to explain more. It didn't require verbal communication, his gaze directed the question and my nod became the answer.

"You have to take care of Taehee...love her, cherish her, give her your warmth....treat her like your own child." Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together to welcome every child's dream dad, father of the year and of upcoming centuries too, Mr Kim Taehyung.

"No one else than the three of us knows about Minhee so you have to be very careful with your words. This is a really important point." He said the last part more to himself in a low tone while reading further and I nodded my head taking mental notes. "You cannot visit anywhere all alone, either Jungkook or I will accompany you everywhere."

Not even the restroom!? Nevermind. Continue.

"Lastly, Jungkook, she's your responsibility." He flipped over the last page of the legal looking documents and pointed his finger towards a shook guy. "Give her basic knowledge about Minhee and what all she needs to know about her to pretend to be her." The aforementioned male smiled a little.

Once he gave me the documents and a pen to seal the deal with him, I read it again or can be said, just flipped the pages acting like I was reading it very attentively.

He tensed a bit when I started looking through it. Unfortunately, the first word I saw didn't seem to match the context and appeared to be a typo. "Shouldn't it be 'how' instead of 'hoe' ?" I questioned.

"Uh... You know we can't talk about Minhee to many people and in that situation, getting legal documents was difficult so..." He paused to scratch his neck and look away nervously. "...Jungkook kinda typed this out."

And then I saw it, the stamp said "International playboy bank" and the print had so many rookie mistakes.

"I proof read it so many times!" Jungkook defensively said after snatching the papers from my hand. "Oh, just sign them already, will you?"

My gaze shifted from the first man to the second one and I wondered if my decision would get me in trouble later because they surely appeared to be borderline psychos. Nevertheless, I left my autograph every here and there.

"And also you have to lose some weight." His gaze shifted down to my belly region and before it could travel anywhere else I distracted him.

"I think she's kind of short too." Jungkook judgingly added and I instantly straightened my back proving him wrong by unfair means.

"Why!? I think I am fit enough." Well, in reality, I don't think so. I had been watching k-dramas ever since I lost the hopes of getting employed and doing no physical exercises after my divorce, which means I might have put on a little bit of weight... maybe a little more than little.

"You are all fit but Minhee was slimmer and taller so you have to lose inches horizontally and add some vertically to avoid any unwanted suspicion." He had his way with the words that stopped me from killing him at his remark.

"Ok." I rolled my eyes being very annoyed internally.

"Great! We will move to Seoul today itself. Is it okay with you?" He asked for the very last time with a low husky voice. It was like... even if I marked any problem he will bury me then and there.

"I need some time to pack my stuff." The sudden announcement about departure came as a surprise I wasn't expecting.

"You don't have to because you will get almost everything there." He brushed his hair back showing off his supremacy (It was just my assumption though)

"Ah... okay, Taehyung. By the way, can you lend me your phone for a while? I need to call my friend." My phone was as useless as me because of obvious reasons. Even if the workload killed her, she would have still called me over a thousand times already from her grave.

He furrowed his dark set of eyebrows, almost knitting then together and asked: "What happened to your phone?"

I took my crack-screened phone out and held it in front of his face. "This happened." Pure contempt shadowed my face when I begged for his sympathy.

"Why don't you and Jungkook go, shop for a new phone?" Because my broke ass was not born with a silver spoon and it doesn't think rich just yet. I mentally answered but physically nodded in slight joy.

Jungkook escaped the mildly suffocating atmosphere first and then walked to the other side to open the door for me. I smiled at the small gesture and thanked him while climbing out of the SUV to which he replied with a playful "Oh, no, no. You don't have to thank me. I was always taught to help elderly people."

"Oh, for fuck's sake." I gritted my teeth annoyingly trying my best to ignore the way he kept laughing at the offense. "Hey, Jungkook, imagine if someone ten inches taller than you kept calling you hyung. How will you feel?"

"Feel the urge of protecting them by all means? Yeah, that's exactly how I'll feel." The bunny-like human spoke his heart and smiled to himself at the thought. "And, you don't have to call me Jungkook. It's Kookie for them and so is for you."

"I don't feel like protecting you. Give me a chance and I'll push you off the bridge in a heartbeat." I coldly sighed making him lowkey cringe. "And, I don't want to call you kookie when you're just cocky."

"That's a silly reason, gimme something real." He thought whining like a kid would pave the way but boy, I hate kids so no wins for your ass.

I walked ahead of him but then realized he had stopped in his tracks, pouting while waiting for an explanation so I gave him what he wanted. What am I? His mum? "Because cookies are sweet and yum—"

"So am I." He cockily said as if challenging me but with his reply, several unholy thoughts arose in my spoiled mind.

"Look, you are cocky again and bratty too," I added and to cut the unnecessary chit-chat, I almost started running away.

"Same to you." He simply said before he tried matching my pace and then he turned it to a full-fledged marathon.
