Behind the scenes
The thundering vehicle whirred to a stop in front of a small condo, a place so far deep in the woods and so unrecognizably plain it was almost a wonder how Jungkook never forgot his way there.
The two men got off the roofless humvee, Yoongi grumbling under his breath (as usual) at how the vehicle always stank but anyone who knew him could tell by his awkward stance that the smell wasn't what he was really worried about.
"Erm, Jungkook?" The said man stopped on his step and turned his head, raising a brow quizzically at Yoongi who was still rooted on his spot next to the dirty jeep.
"Yes?"
"Uhm, mind if you go in there while I stay back here--"
"You're coming."
"But--"
"But nothing hyung. You're coming with me. Now walk." Was all Jungkook said, no- commanded in his uncharacteristically characteristic deep voice and continued walking towards the door of the small house.
He could hear Yoongi grumbling even more loudly behind him, probably embarrassed but chose to ignore it, deeming his hyung's issues a tad bit childish, and couldn't help but mumble a low--"sheesh, it's been two years and still these two..."
As soon as the duo enter the house they take the first left and open up a door, leading to a small staircase that went down and straight into a basement. As soon as the basement door opens up, Jungkook is met with a very familiar sight of computers. Ones and tens of them, setup one above the other, hanging off the long wall with their thin bodies and flat screens, whizzing with gray images and momentary flashes of technical iridescent lines.
In front of them sat a boy, a single back-lit keyboard under his fingers and a cigarette hanging off his lips.
"Hope-ah." Jungkook greets casually, causing the boy to look behind and meet his gaze, which was both warm like the sun and dark like the holes in that big ball of fire.
"Jeonny! What a long time no see." Hoseok removes his cigarette and greets back, enthusiastic in ways he has always been, even if he was holding the worst of news in his hands."I guess the weekly report brings you here?" He asks rhetorically but Jungkook still shakes his head and manages a smile.
"No, he did."
Hoseok furrows his beautifully shaped brows and tilts his head, looking behind Jungkook to spot a short pale faced guy he knew, who had just about choked on his spit and was currently burning holes into the youngest's head. Hoseok felt himself smirk as he let's his dark eyes linger there for a few seconds before looking back at Jungkook.
"Oh, Yoongi's here too... have to admit i was not expecting to see him after so many days."
"Yes, now if we could move on--" the oldest raven head cleared his throat and paced upto where the tech boy sat, watching him amusedly as he taps on the screen of a random computer.
"Could you show us what you sent in the report?"
Hoseok straightened up and nodded at the question, face turning a little serious as he presses a key and the computer screen right in front of them glows up, now showing a video footage.
The video is pretty normal in the beginning, showing the inside of a regular small restaurant where the bartenders were busy serving pints after pints of alcohol and the customers bustled the place in crowds like crows looking for a catch. But a few moments later, the normalcy begins to dissipate as the regular movements still in their place-- replaced by slight tension from the arrival of a new group-- all dressed up in either suits or uniforms, stopped behind the counter and begin to question some of the bartenders. One of them was the other popular popstar, Park Jimin.
"Hope, turn up the volume." It was Jungkook, who had moved closer to the screen, eyes squinted and ears perked up, ready to store the information he was going to hear.
"Mr. Park? Can you identify which one of them were working here that night?"
Jungkook knew this voice. It belonged to the head of Busan police force, Mr. Choi. An old acquaintance for the boy... someone who made the ravenette's lip tug up into a bitter smile.
The image of Jimin in the hidden cam appeared short and shriveled up, as he was covered by a big coat, sunglasses and a mask that covered up most of his features. "That... that one, I think." He said, pointing out to a certain boy standing by the corner with the rest of the inn's staff.
The said boy was beckoned forth and the head of police looked him up and down before throwing in his first question. "Did you see something odd that night, 15th of November, when you were working at the inn?"
The boy looked around nervously, worrying his lip under his teeth before shaking his head in negative."Nothing I can think of..."
"Well then think harder!" Mr. Choi snapped loudly, causing the boy and the other staff of the inn to stir up in fear.
"It is a matter of life and death of our country's most beloved actor--"
"He's an idol, a singer." Jimin intervened but was effectively ignored as the older, bearded government servant continued his ranting or rather threatening.
"If you don't recall anything from that night in the next two minutes, you have no idea what I will--"
"I remember a few people having started a fight!" The bartender boy suddenly supplied, looking more than relieved he finally had some response that could save him and his inn from some unwarranted punishment.
Mr. Choi looked happy too, as he signaled the boy to continue talking.
"Uh so, I don't remember how it began because brawls in this inn as more than a common occurrence, sometimes once or twice a week, but this one was a little different because the we hadn't seen the boy around here before..."
"Which boy?"
"The one who started the fight."
"What was the fight about?"
"Over spilt milk... quite literally." The bartender shook his head, as if thinking back to the time he had witnessed something so stupid. " The boy was tall and lean, he had black hair and was dressed like everyone else. He had just knocked off a guy's tumbler of milk and then scoffed when demanded an apology. Moments later a whole gang of men was all over him, pinning him down on the floor, beating the shit out of him... sorry!" The brown haired bartender quickly apologized for his language but was ignored and urged to continue.
"That's... all I remember."
Mr. Choi hummed and ran his gaze around the small inn, his eyes momentarily stopping at a door on the far left.
"Did you see the boy again after that night?" He asked, not taking his eyes off the suspicious door, "Or any of the men who beat him up?"
"No." The bartender answered, bewildered." I don't remember much..."
"Sir, but what does it have to do with Kim Taehyung's Kidnapping?" One of the other guys clad in officer's clothing, enquired butting in.
"All of this. This fight which took place so close to where Mr. Kim was seen last, the silly reason why it happened, all of it appears pretty staged... don't you think mi-cha? Like a sort of distraction from a bigger ploy? Or maybe a trap of some sort?" Mr. Choi looked around the place again, scrutinizing every bit of the place with his hawk like eyes.
"But that doesn't prove anything." Another detective opposed apprehensively, "Didn't he just say such brawls are more than common in these sailor's resting inns?"
"It has... it definitely has something to do with his Kidnapping, Bin-ah. I can feel it." The head of police confirmed vaguely before looking over at the bartender again.
"Was he alone or was there someone else with him?"
The bartender pondered over the question before slowing nodding his head, as if actively recollecting his memory from that night.
"Yes there was... another man. I don't remember much but he was the one to stop the fight I guess. I didn't see him again either."
"What did he look like?"
"Similar... black hair, sailor's clothes. That's all I recall, I'm sorry." The nervous bartender finally folded his cards, stepping back from the confrontation with nothing else to spew.
The head of Busan police hummed and turned to speak something to his assistants, who nodded at his orders before walking over to the door on the other end of the inn, probably to inspect it.
While they were gone, Choi scanned the whole place for any cctvs already having an idea that thrifty makeshift shops like those couldn't really afford to install one for all it cared. All the more a perfect stage for a perfect Kidnapping. Choi somehow knew his suspicions were going to be right.
And just like that, moments later the couple of officers who had gone to explore the inside of the inn came running out, an exasperated pant in their voices as one of them lifted a stringed article in the air -- a mask.
"Sir! We found this... lying near the back exit of the inn."
Officer Choi grabbed the mask and turned it carefully between his gloved fingers, assessing its expensive make for a minute before slowly lifting it for Jimin to have a look.
And Jimin's eyes widened in recognition.
"That's Taehyung's!!"
Hoseok pressed the pause button and looked up behind him, his eyes meeting a terrifyingly calm Jungkook. On the other hand, Yoongi looked nervous, shaking to the core.
"Jungkook... they're going to get to us." Yoongi spoke up, eyes flitting between the paused computer screen and Jungkook." They have their first evidence."
"Relax hyung," Jungkook straightened up, running a hand through his hair," they're still quite far off."
"But they understood what might've happened at the inn! Now all they need to do is look for the ship that left the port that night and--"
"And there were more than ten of them that did. It will take them more than a couple of weeks to find out which ship went where and to track them down." Jungkook calmly completed on Yoongi's behalf, who simply rolled his eyes but the worry didn't seem to leave him.
"Jungkook I think we seriously need to reconsider it. Let's move him to another place before they close in on us." The older suggested.
Jungkook peered at him then nodded slowly, contemplative.
"I will... I will definitely move him somewhere else. To a better place infact... you don't think I was planning to keep him in that dungeon for the rest of his life do you?" Jungkook breathed out a smile as he fiddled with the end of his glove, eyes far in thought of someone so precious to him.
"Don't worry hyung... this time I'm planning something big. I still have a couple of weeks until they find this place right? I will be out of here with Mr. V much before that... will take him somewhere special this time around, somewhere no one could ever find us. I'm still working on it though. Our place... it needs some time and a little more investment to make it to his liking." The youngest lifted his gaze and flashed an eye smile to his older brothers, who looked back at him stunned, having no idea when Jungkook had planned all that.
"And once he goes there... he will never want to leave, hyungs. Neither that place... nor me."

"Urgh."
Bang.
"Urghh."
Bang. Thud.
"Urghh Argh!!"
Taehyung chucked the small piece of wood on the floor and screamed at it, as if it was alive and deliberately unwilling to help him out of his misery.
The idol then stared at the wall, at the small pea sized dent on it and screamed again, frustration filling him up as he thought about what the hell he was trying to do.
Breaking a wall with a piece of stick? Taehyung you're pathetic!
The idol huffed and turned his back on it, sliding down against it as he chastised himself for being so stupid. Earlier he had attempted to pull open the iron door then break it, which too failed because of... well obvious reasons. Next came the ceiling, which luckily only endured a few angry glares from the idol until Taehyung figured it was just to high to attempt climbing. The poor walls came last and couldn't help themselves but receive a few war wounds purely resulting from the idol getting salty over his recurrent failure.
This place was fucking unbreakable!
"Fuck... this is so not going to work. I can't get out of here on my own. Then what the fuck should I do...? Come on Taehyung think... think think think, you dumbfuck." Taehyung gripped the strands of his blue hair and tugged at them, as if that action was going to get his mind running suddenly, but still nothing.
With more frustration seeping out of him, the idol grabbed the idle piece of wood and chucked it on the wall again, so hard that it came bouncing back to him. He grabbed it again and repeated the action a couple of times, mind still blank as a slate but that was until he heard a sound- a rip, to be precise.
Taehyung looked down and a groan left his mouth when he found that his flimsy old shirt had ripped a little below the armpit, creating a hole in it.
Just great. Things couldn't get any better could they?
Taehyung assessed the tearing and wondered if he could ask Jungkook for some better and cleaner clothes when a thought struck him out of nowhere.
The idol remembered the way Jungkook had stared at him the first day they had met while he was treating the latter's wounds. The way he always reacted to each of Taehyung's touches... like he was electrified or something... and the way Jungkook behaved so shaken and nervous when Taehyung had randomly asked him to sleep together last night.
The idol didn't know what had come over him to suggest something so weird out of no where. Literally asking his potentially dangerous kidnapper to sleep next to him on the same bed, trusting him with something like that? But Taehyung didn't know what he was thinking then... he was tired and just wanted company that night. Not to mention how his subconscious did somewhat trust his gentlemanly kidnapper with some things now and then.
All these thoughts struck Taehyung one after another and slowly, something akin to a plan began cooking up in his head, making the idol's lush lips break into a smirk.
"You want to play, don't you Jungkookie?" The idol whispered, fingers slowly caressing the shredded piece of cloth on his body.
"Then let's play together...shall we? Game. On."
