I got up from my nest and walked over to my mother. We live in a small cave above the rest of the pack. Mother was eating food from last night. I sit in front of her and the food and cock my head. She looks up from the leftover deer and sighs," You were still asleep and I didn't want to disturb you. So I saw this laying in the middle of the cave and ate. Want some?" I shake my head because I don't feel like eating.

I walk out of the den and down the spiral rock. I see my sister, Holly at the pups den playing with them. I walk over to her. She looks up from them, her pretty gray pelt glimmering in the sun light. She sits down and says," Hey sleepy fur. Wanna go hunting?" I nod and we head out.

We sniff the logs, trees, and grass for any traces of food. I smell a Musk Deer! Those are rare around here. I've only had one once and it was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. I tracked it down and wait. I jump out of my hiding spot and attack. I catch it and make the killing bite to the throat. I drag it to a small clearing where my sister, Holly was sitting.

She looked at my Musk Deer and gasped," A musk deer? How did you-" I cut her off. "I found it! I think this will be the best winter ever." I sit it down and we lay in the middle of the clearing. It starts snowing. We get back up and frolic in the snow together. Once it got deep enough I dived under, attempting to hide from Holly.

She called my name many times. I jump out sending sprays of snow on her. She jumps back in surprise. I jump on her and bark in amusement.

We stay laying there a few minutes. I remember my Deer and dig in the snow for it. When I finally reach it I see that leaving it in the snow froze it. I sit down and frown. Holly sniffed it and says," Uh. Lets lay near it and warm it up." We snuggle on the deer and try to warm it up.

I wake up snuggled near the deer and my sister. We are buried in snow. I shake the snow from my pelt and try to wake Holly up. Holly's nose twitches and she lifts her head. " What happened? I'm freezing." I take time to tell her what happened. She shakes the snow and ice off her fur and stands up. The snow is at least up to our belly fur. We drag the deer back to the pack.

How long were we gone? I think to myself on the way back. I at least think a day. We walk into camp, dragging our deer. Mother was sitting and talking to one of the healers. She took one glance at us and sprang up from her sitting spot. She ran her muzzle along our faces. She stops and says,"where were you two?" We tell our Mother the story. She sighs and says,"You two have to go to one of the healers, because you've been out in the cold and you might get sick. Before you go to the healers den, put that deer in our cave." I drag the deer up the spiral rock and put it in my nest.

I pad back down the spiral rock and run into Twilight, one of the newest Protecters. "Woah there Eclipse, where you heading?" He asked. I growl and say," Gotta go to one of the healers and get checked. Do I look that sick?" He sat back at took a good look at me and says," You look perfect. I never look like that, because of this ragged pelt of mine." I stare at him and say," This was a nice chat, but I gotta go." I leave him standing alone in front of the spiral rock.

I got to the healers den and looked inside. I saw the only one in was Sparkle. She took a look at me. I felt uncomfortable under her stare. She sighs and says," Well, what are you waiting for?" I walk in and sit in the checking area. Sparkle sits in front of me. She touches my nose with her paw and says," You feel fine." I barked in happiness and laughter and said," Thank you!" Sparkle nodded and I fled through the entrance
