Childhood: As a boy, Émile suffered from epilepsy, and had a terrible stutter. He was a lot smarter than the rest of the class, but they made fun of him and bullied him. His seizures suddenly stopped at the age of eleven.
Teenagehood: At fifteen, Émile outgrew his stutter and miraculously began to talk normally. He began to make lots of friend and soon became very popular, and the top of his class. He was valedictorian at his graduation.
Adulthood: Émile only grew in his academic successes, and was even offered a scholarship, but decided not to go to college.
