Chapter 37: Coming Home
I open my eyes to a blurry world. In an attempt to stretch my arms above my head, I realize that they were locked with someone else's arms. Turning my head, I see Zack spooning me, while Stella had her legs on me and Linda respectively, as Linda was half of off the bed. Pushing Stella's leg off of me and loosening Zack's grip around me, I manage to escape the human body jungle, stumbling a little here and a little there as I make my way to the bathroom.
"If someone would enter the room it would look like a literal war zone minus the blood", Stella enters the bathroom when I was brushing my teeth.
"They are literally sprawled everywhere.", I reply with the brush in my mouth. Opening the head cabinet I pass her a spare toothbrush, which she takes with a nod and squeezes a little toothpaste and gets to work.
After getting through with the morning routine, Stella and I get ready with the breakfast by the time everyone wakes up and gets down.
"You might need to get a plumber", Ian says in his morning voice, entering the kitchen.
"The flush broke again!?", I screech. This was the third time in this week, the flush has really started to act up.
"Well you obviously are no plumber so it was inevitable.", Ryan shrugs.
"Are you questioning my plumbing capabilities?", I ask putting my hands on my hip and glaring at him. Linda starts sniggering behind him and she gets the glare too.
"Duh!", Linda answers before Ryan could and both of them breakout in a sniggering fest. I roll my eyes and pick my phone up to call the plumber.
What, I can't possibly live with a broken flush!?
"Why didn't someone warn me about the kind of food hoggers boys are??", Stella sighs as she helped me clean the kitchen. Kyle stayed back to help, while the other boys were out doing god knows what and Ian and Linda were probably messing up my wardrobe trying to put together my suitcase for the weekend.
I was really excited to meet Mom and Dad. With the Halloween month coming in swing, it was the season of full blown pranks with Dad. When was the last time I even pranked him?
"Before you got here", my conscience speaks up. "And that was a long time ago.", I sigh. I could really do good with a weekend break with Mom and Dad. I don't really stop and appreciate it but I miss them a lot. I miss morning fights with Dad and Mom's omelette, yes I miss her omelettes. I still won't eat them, but I can miss them! It would be good to go back home. A little tour back to the old life.
"Why don't you go hangout with Ian and Linda? I'll put the dishes in the dishwasher.", Kyle bumps his hip in me and gets to work. I nod and mouth a thank you to him, before disappearing upstairs.
As I enter my room I bump into Ian who was dragging my suitcase out.
"You packed my stuff!?", I ask in a shocked state. I lowkey expected them to be fighting in my messed up room, but the scene was no where near it.
"C'mon we are not that useless.", Ian says looking back at Linda who had a bag hanging from her shoulder.
"We are excited that you are coming for the weekend, so we decided to not fight all that much, but.......only for this weekend.", she points. I couldn't take it any longer so I call Linda forward and engulf them both in a huge hug, bags and all.
As we break the hug, I wipe a stray tear. I think Ian saw it because he pulls me back in a hug.
"I know it wasn't best of your days but things will get better, so chill.", I nod in his chest and we break the hug. Linda passes me a small smile we before get back down and put everything in the trunk of the car.
"You're already leaving?", Zack pops up. I nod and close the trunk before walking up to him.
"I was planning to get back here Sunday evening, so thought I'd leave early.", I shrug.
"I am looking forward to a weekend without you.", he says putting his hands at the back of his head and stretching, flexing his bicep muscles. I roll my eyes to avoid ogling over them and push him lightly.
"I am sure, you are. After all you'll get Ryan all on your own for the weekend.", I wiggle my eyebrows and burst out laughing when Zack makes a disgusted face, totally understanding the underlying meaning. Zack shakes his head and grabs me in a hug, to my surprise.
"Stay safe. You know he's out.", he warns.
"Should I be worried about that?", Ryan points between Zack and I, but we just laugh it off.
There is absolutely nothing going on between us.
"Shall we.", Linda extends her hand. I give Ryan a hug before taking her hand. I bid Kyle, Stella and Ash goodbyes, before zooming out of the driveway.

" I AM HOME-", I stop mid-sentence as a bucket a glitter is flipped on me. "OH C'MON......LEMME COME IN THE HOUSE ATLEAST!", I complain. Dusting the glitter from my clothes, as best as I could. I step into the house, only to be pushed back out.
"No no, I have just cleaned the house. No, messing it up again.", Mom says as she drags me to the backdoor and turns the water hose on. I flinch as cold water hits me all of a sudden. Nevertheless the screams escaping from me begging Mom to turn it off, she didn't until she was satisfied that the glitter was washed off to a great extent. Dad came in the backyard holding a towel, his face noticeably red from holding his laughter.
"You can laugh.", I scoff, drying myself so that Mom would allow me to enter the house. And Dad did burst out into fits of laughter. I roll my eyes at him and step into the house, heading straight to my room to change my clothes. After stepping into a new pair pjs I head downstairs.
As soon as Dad sees me, he bursts out laughing but engulfs me in a hug nonetheless. I shake my head and laugh along with him.
I missed this too Dad.
After Dad finally let me go because Mom was glaring holes in the back of his head, I went over to give Mom a bear hug too. She kisses my forehead and whispers to me-
"I made you your favourite omelette.", I pull away with disgust plastered on my face. I shake my head vigorously which makes her laugh. "I made pancakes, chill.", she laughs and set's the table.
"But I already had breakfast.", I whine, sitting down at the table, accepting the coffee from Dad's hand, which Mom rolls her eyes at. I shrug and take a sip.
There can never be too much coffee.
