(Northview High School hallways ----->)

Todoroki

"I miss you."

"I'll never stop missing you."

"I'm still in love with you."

"How could I forgive myself?"

"I want you back, here with me."

"Come back."

"Come on Todoroki! Hurry up!"

"I'm hurrying!"

"Well walk faster!"

"I'm not even walking! You're dragging me!"

Midoriya just glared at me before picking up his pace, causing me to almost lose my balance.

"Slow down Midoriya! We've still got the last period of the day!" I stumbled over my feet but caught myself with a nearby locker.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just so excited! Tonight's a big deal. We finally get back on the track with all of our new techniques!" Midoriya squealed, and I couldn't help but smile at his energetic aura.

"Me too. I sorta want to impress the guys tonight," Midoriya raised a brow and I looked away to hide my blush.

"Ooh~ Someone wants to impress their boyfriend," Midoriya sang mockingly, and I shoved him against a locker as my face turned dark.

"S-Shut up. What if I do?"

"Knew it," Midoriya smiled and I just sighed in frustration.

The day seemed to drag on for an eternity. All I wanted to do was race out the door and feel the thrill of going at an inhuman speed. But of course, that had to wait for a few hours. For now, I'm stuck listening to Mr. Wadacker's lecture about his expose that no one gave two fucks about.

"Psst. Todoroki!" Midoriya threw a small paper airplane at me and motioned to unravel it.

When I did, I found a little doodle of Mr. Wadacker's bald spot being compared to the moon. I stifled a chuckle and silently applauded Midoriya. Little did I know, that Mr. Wadacker had seen the whole thing.

"Shoto! Would you care to share with the class what you find so amusing?" Mr. Wadacker boomed and I clenched my fists as a coping mechanism to not freak out.

"Well sir, it's rather private," Some of my classmates giggled and I bit back a smirk.

"Private, you say?" Mr. Wadacker urged on and I nodded.

"And everyone calls me Todoroki sir."

Now the whole class was laughing as a smug smile crept its way onto my face. Just as Mr. Wadacker was going to respond, the bell rang and I gripped Midoriya's wrist and booked it.

"Todoroki that was hilarious!" Midoriya giggled, taking the note he gave to me and examining it.

"There was no way we were going to have detention tonight," With that, we hurriedly ran to our lockers before going outside and walking home.

As soon as we got to our house, we kicked off our shoes in the mudroom and ran into the living room, jumping over the couch and flipping the channels to see a well-anticipated race. Tonight was going to be All Might's last race, so he promised he would make it count. 24 Hours of Le Man was officially here.

"Can you believe it Todoroki! I'm so excited!" Midoriya squirmed ecstatically, and I couldn't help but smile at his child-like behavior.

"I'm excited too, but a bit sad that All Might is retiring."

Midoriya nodded, and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, "Yeah, it's pretty upsetting to see my idol retiring. But you know what that means? We'll have to work even harder to meet his standards, and break his jaw-dropping records."

Another smile tugged at my lips. Midoriya truly was my best friend in the whole wide world. Always knowing what to say when I'm upset, cheering me up when I'm down, making me feel confident in myself after when I feel like trash. His selflessness is so admirable, it makes me want to be more like him. A truly good-hearted person, with only the best intentions for those around him.

"You're right, Midoriya. We'll be better than All Might himself!" We cheered, pumping our fists into the air and fixated our gazes on the tv.

"IT"S STARTING!" Midoriya hollered, soon thunderous footsteps from upstairs were heard.

"AND YOU DIDN'T THINK TO CALL US EARLIER?" Natsuo screeched, scrambling over the furniture and taking a seat next to Midoriya.

"Don't worry about it. They called us, didn't they?" Touya walked in, munching on a bag of corn nuts and sat next to me, offering his snack to us.

"Thanks, Touya," Midoriya and Natsuo took a handful as the screen switched to the race track.

"OMIGOSH! The anticipation is killing me!" My best friend began to vibrate, and Touya chuckled, rubbing a hand in his hair to calm him down.

"Calm down, Mido. The race hasn't even started yet," Natsuo chuckled and the door opened, revealing Fuyumi, Mother, and Inko.

The three walked into the open concept kitchen behind us and began to unbag their groceries for the day, "What's this?"

"Hi, Mom, Fuyumi, Inko. We're watching 24 Hours of Le Mans," Natsuo mumbled, munching on corn nuts.

"Another race? Figures," Fuyumi chuckled.

Without tearing his eyes away from the camera, Midoriya spoke, "It's not just another race. It's the biggest race of all time. Countries compete every year for the title and glory. But we all know All Might is going to win again."

"I'm sorry. I misspoke," Fuyumi sarcastically bowed and Touya flipped her off.

"Touya! None of that in this household!" Mother struck his hand, and he smirked whilst waving her off.

"Sorry, Mom," Touya apologized, and Inko appeared before us, handing out sweet tea.

"Isn't this All Might's last race?" Everyone stayed silent at Fuyumi's question, and a few tears were shed.

Midoriya silently sobbed into Natsou's shoulder, and Natsuo patted his back whilst choking back tears, "Please don't remind us about that agonizing news."

"Shh. It'll be alright little bro. He'll be forever remembered," Natsuo whispered into Midoriya's ear. Sniffling a bit, Midoriya sat up and nodded.

"Midoriya, how come you were able to comfort me when I was sad but needed Natsou to comfort you?" Midoriya grinned evilly and took the rest of the corn nuts.

"You're such a rat," Natsuo grumbled, sipping his sweet tea.

"Yes, but you love me. I'm basically family," Midoriya triumphed, gorging on corn nuts.

Touya smirked and nodded approvingly, rubbing his hand in Midoriya's hair. Then we turned our attention back to the screen and waited for the race to begin. After a long montage and multiple commercials sponsored by each team, the race finally began. Crowds cheered and hollered, offering their encouragement to their preferred team. Soon, everyone was seated in the living room, their gaze fixated on the screen as the anticipation thickened in the air.

"Oh my. There are so many competitors this year," Inko exclaimed, politely sipping her beverage.

"I agree. This year will be a tough one," My mom smiled kindly at me, and I returned the favor.

"But since most of us are rooting for All Might, I might just root for the motherland this year," Inko and my mom smirked at each other, and all of us kids groaned.

"MOM! You can't cheer Best Jeanist on! That's All Might's biggest rival," Midoriya argues, but Inko shook her head.

"Yes. But I love Japan and will cheer her on till the end of this race," My mom nodded in agreement, and we all just shook our heads in disapproval. Sure, Japan was our culture, but All Might was our idol. He had such an impact on us, so we couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

Touya just chuckled before speaking, "That's alright with us auntie. But remember your words when All Might wins this with a new record."

"And I'll never let you forget when All Might lost his final race," Mother spoke with venom in her tone, and we couldn't help but shiver.

Hours passed by, and it wasn't looking good for one of All Might's teammates. But All Might was excelling and so far in the lead for the majority of the race. We figured everything would be okay, and we'd just check the news tomorrow to find out what happened. Everyone went to bed, but little did our mothers know that Fuyumi and Natsuo were staying up all night in his room watching the race on his tv while Touya, Midoriya, and I snuck out. The three of us figured we could listen to it on the radio.

"Hurry up fuckers! We gotta move if I'm going to meet up with the league to watch the race together on time!" Touya whisper shouted, Midoriya and I picked up our pace, grabbing our phones, earbuds, and phone chargers. Once we climbed off the roof and hopped into Touya's car, we slowly and quietly drove off and onto the freeway.

"So, you racing tonight or just watching Le Mans?" Midoriya enquired, slurping on the cherry smoothie he got at the Grab-N-Go previously.

"Not tonight, Mido. The league wants to analyze and observe some techniques from the pros," Touya muffled, taking nibbles of his doughnut.

"Next time you guys race, I want to be there to see you kick ass," We all giggled at my comment, and I continued to drink my boba.

"Next time we race, Shigaraki wants you guys to come along again. But to compete," Midoriya and I glanced at each other and began to fanboy.

"We'll do it!" Midoriya squealed without a second thought. Oh, this would be interesting.

Touya nodded, and we continued to scream along to the lyrics of "Come and Get Your Love." 15 minutes later, Touya reached outside the racetrack and parked so we could head out.

"EY! Before you go, I need to talk with you guys," Midoriya and I sat back down and waited impatiently for Touya to speak.

"You both know the number one rule I taught you when it comes to racing, right?" The two of us nodded and Touya smiled.

"No matter what, if you crash, get out of the car," Touya nodded again.

"Well last time I raced, some guy wrecked and he couldn't get out on time. It was ugly, and the cops were called. Nobody wanted to leave, so his crew stayed behind and buried him the next day. What I'm trying to say here is be careful, because both of you are family. And no man left behind."

We froze up and nodded. We've heard about wrecks, and seen more than enough on the highways or during a race. But for Touya to see that firsthand was terrifying and almost a wake-up call. When we were younger, Touya taught us his few set of rules for racing. First, when you wreck, get out of the car before things escalate. Second, no man left behind. Third, watch for the turns and be smart. Finally, have fun and drive like there's no tomorrow.

"Also, Shoto. If you and Inasa go all the way, please use protection. I don't want to have to explain to Mom about my youngest brother getting an STD from his boyfriend," Midoriya burst in laughter and I turned beet red. After punching Touya's arm and going on a rant about how I knew about that stuff and how I wasn't ready to do anything, Midoriya and I got out of the car and waved Touya goodbye.

"I'm never letting that go," Midoriya chuckled, and I ran after him inside, where our friend group patiently waited for us.

"Hey Midoriya, Todoroki! The hell took so long?" Uraraka spat, leaning against an old race car.

"Sorry! Touya had to give Todoroki over here the birds and the bees talk," Midoriya cackled, and soon all of our friend group joined in except for Inasa and I.

"That's hilarious," Shinsou wheezed, and Monoma clapped his hand on Shinsou's back to calm him down.

"Shut up! I don't give you and Monoma shit, even though we all know you're a thing," That shut them up, and soon we all cackled.

"Whatever candy cane, get ready to have your ass beat," Monoma shoved me aside, and I flipped him off.

We all huddled over to the bleachers and began to set up our equipment. Uraraka, Asui, and Iida recorded speeds, fixed the cars, and everything behind the scenes of racing. Monoma, Shinsou, Inasa, Midoriya, and I all raced. We knew how to change tires and fix leaks, but that was about it.

"Hey, you," Inasa walked behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him as he rested his chin on my shoulder.

"Hey. I missed you," I turned my head and gave him a soft peck on the cheek, leaning into the embrace.

"Can I have some of that?" He motioned to my boba and I handed it over.

"Alright, now that we're almost ready, who's going first today?" Tsu walked up to us, holding her clipboard to write down our speeds, and without another word, Monoma leaped to his feet and ran into the car.

"Kick ass, babe!" Shinsou hollered, and Monoma blew him a kiss.

We all sat down together, and Inasa had me wear his hoodie with fluff on the hood so I wouldn't be chilly, "What about you. Won't you be cold?"

He just smiled, and kissed my forehead, telling me I was worth it. A blush crept its way onto my cheeks and I put my head on his shoulder. How did I get so lucky?

"You get this race on yet?" Midoriya asked, shaking his leg as he watched Monoma race around the track. His eyes never leaving the car.

Uraraka politely nodded and turned up the radio so we could listen. "ALL MIGHT IN THE LEAD! BEST JEANIST IS GAINING ON HIM..... AND ALL MIGHT RUSHED PAST ITALY ON THE NEXT TURN!" We all cheered and I scooted closer to Inasa, intertwining our finger together.

"TIME!" Tsu shouted, clicker her timer as Monoma crossed the finish and screeched to a halt.

"How'd I do?" Monoma ran out of the car and over to Shinsou, the two meeting together in an embrace.

"Better. But there's still room for improvement," Iida commented, showing him his speeds on his clipboard, and Monoma scoffed.

"Yeah. But I doubt anyone here could have improved more than I have this week," This caused Midoriya and I to glace at each other and wink knowingly.

"NEXT!" Tsu hollered and Shinsou stepped up and walked towards the car.

Time passed by and we all took a break after I went. Inasa and I were both shivering, so I unzipped his hoodie and laid it over the both of us as a large blanket.

"You two are so cute. It makes me realize how single I am," Uraraka squealed and I just rolled my eyes and snuggled into the crook in Inasa's neck.

The radio came back from break, and everyone sat up and listened carefully. The anticipation and importance of this race made it all the more intriguing, and I felt my breath hitch when the announcer came back.

"GOOD MORNING MY FELLOW AMERICANS, AND THANKS FOR TUNING INTO THIS RACE! IT IS CURRENTLY SUNNY OVER HERE IN BEAUTIFUL ITALY, AND WE ARE NOW IN THE FINAL LAPS OF THIS RACE!"

"OH, FOLKS! BEST JEANIST HAS BEEN IN THE LEAD FOR THE PAST HALF HOUR, BUT ALL MIGHT IS VERY CLOSE TO SURPASSING HIM!"

"THE TURN IS COMING! AND... AND... I DON'T BELIEVE IT! BEST JEANIST BLUFFED AND ALL MIGHT JUST PASSED HIM!"

"WE'RE GETTING CLOSER TO THE FINISH! CLOSER! AND AMERICA WINS LE MANS! FOR THE FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW! ALL MIGHT CLAIMS VICTORY!" Everyone jumped up and began running around, squealing, screeching, dancing, and jumping up in celebration. Iida opened up a cooler full of sodas and threw one at everyone. Shinsou shook his up and opened it like a champagne bottle.

Inasa held my chin and kissed me passionately, holding me close and I was in pure bliss. After that, we discussed how much Midoriya and I had improved with our new techniques and agreed to show everyone how to do them. We did a few more laps, messed around all night, and did crazy things. Inasa needed to use the restroom so everyone walked towards the bathrooms. Once we realized they were locked, Midoriya offered to get the lock.

"Allow me! I'm an expert when it comes to locks!" He told us all to stay back, Midoriya unexpectedly grabbed a brick and chucked it at the window, climbed in and let Inasa in.

After breaking into the main lobby area with all the vending machines, everyone was exhausted. Kissing Inasa goodbye for the fifth time, I walked off with Midoriya and ran towards the Leagues base to meet up with Touya.

I blinked back my tears and gulped hard. Once the lump in my throat died down from those memories, I ran back to the apartment and headed straight to bed. There was no way in hell I would be able to sleep after remembering those nights, but I could be in denial and try.
