I usually just post my sad poetry on my message board, but I thought, why not give it a home instead? So, here we are...

I thought that for some of them I could explain them as well, or maybe explain like the inspiration behind it or something.

A Lie
I crumble to the ground.
I love you was never supposed to become a lie.
we promised each other forever,
so why did it just die?

was it because I was too forward
or that you were too hesitant?
was it simply because you were meant to be with her?

the mystery of love,
what a wonderful thing.
it seems to be something I'll never solve,
not with you at least.

So, I actually have no idea where I got this idea from. I've never even been in a relationship, which means I have no experience with heartbreak caused by romantic relationships. I guess I was just sad lmao.

This next poem talks about mental health issues, so please don't continue if this stuff if triggering for you.

Broken
being broken isn't beautiful,
anyone who says otherwise is a liar.
maybe they're not just lying to you,
but, perhaps, to themselves too.

people write about the way tears glisten on your cheeks,
but they never mention tuesday was the last time you ate.
singers sing about broken hearts,
but they never mention some will never be fixed.

you can't just become broken one day,
like anything else it's gradual.
you might not even realize it,
how you're falling into that dark pit.

the path is one taken slowly.
the bricks build up,
bad day after bad day.
soon thick trees obscure your view of the end of the path,
and you can now build castles with your bricks.

Inspo
I struggle with my mental health, and I've been diagnosed with depression. Some of my friends go through the same thing as well and it really pisses me off when people take mental health issues lightly. So, this poem was just venting some of that frustration.

I feel like that's enough sad poetry for now, I'll have some more later. Don't you worry! ;))
