If I wanted to die, I would've done it LONG ago. So this constant threat of death is getting quite annoying.

"M'am are you awake?" A woman asks me as I'm laying on something very hard. Sitting up, I feel my body back to normal, not stiff and wooden anymore.

And I'm alive. That's a plus.

I guess.

"Who are you?" I ask, looking around. I'm in a hospital, somewhere I've never been in this Oz, or mine.

"I'm your nurse, m'am. My name is Alyssa. One of our workers found you near a sewer, just minutes ago. I didn't think you'd wake up so soon." This nurse explains.

How in Oz did I land up outside, let alone near a disgusting sewer.

"Thank you....but I better be going..." I start to get up, realizing that everything in my body hurts. I can't remember anything other than walking into the wizards chamber after Samuel.....dropped me off...

Samuel's birthday.

"What time is it?" I panic, wanting to be with Samuel and for him to tell me everything is going to be okay. I miss him so much.

Ew. What is wrong with me.

"8 hours and 17 minutes." Alyssa states and quickly look at myself. A hospital gown is not the style I was going for at the ball.

"Thank you again." I think for a minute. "Do you by chance have any clothes I could borrow? I can't go home in this..." I ask timidly. She nods.

"I was supposed to go to a ball tonight and I brought dress with me....but I have to work until morning so you can borrow my dress as long as you don't get anything on it." Alyssa explains before going to get the dress.

Now I feel kind of bad about asking. She's seems very sad about not going. But why do I care....

"Here you go m'am..." she hands me a white sparkly dress. It'll do. I quickly put it on and it fits pretty well. The woman helps me put accessories in my hair for some reason. I haven't touched my hair since I've woken up.

"Thank you. You've helped me tremendously." I smile a little and look at myself in the bathroom.

"How IN OZ!" My hair is blond and I barely resemble myself. But the familiar green starts at my fingers. As much as I hated being different this gives me some comfort and the color goes away.

I just need to get to Samuel...

I rush out of the bathroom and Alyssa hands me a piece of paper with this address on it so I can bring back the dress. I run as fast as I can to the main square. People have flooded the center and are being led in a line to a large building. But I'm not going to wait in that line.

"Excuse me. Sorry." I pass by people and squeeze to the front of the line. Most of the people seem to be very rich; fancy ball gowns and suits, in many different styles and colors.

"Name please." I get up to the front and there is a guard with a stack of papers.

"Elphaba...." I say as politely as I can. The man looks me up and down.

"Get out of here. Elphaba is already inside you cannot fool me with your lies." People push me aside to get to the man and I sigh. How am I already inside?! I'm right here! I sit on a bench and sigh once more.

He has to know that's not me! Doesn't he?

"Hi pretty lady..." a young man sits next to me and I do the last think on my mind. I kiss him hard. He tastes of alcohol but I slowly pull away, not wanting to be to abrupt. "I think I've found my date..." he stands me up and walks me to the front of the line where the guard lets us in immediately. His name is Logan Darwin.

Now I'm in, I just need to find Samuel.

I move away from Logan and look around the large ballroom. There's a raised level and I spot a familiar annoyingly sparkly blue dress. And me? What in OZ! "Samuel!" I yell but he can't hear me. I don't even know if I sound like myself. I push through people to get to him. "Samuel!!" I finally get to him and he doesn't recognize me.

"Who are you?"
