=====
7 Years Later
A man sat in front of two peaceful graves.
Finding himself back in the same spot he promised he would visit three years ago didn't seem to lessen the pain— only helping it resurface from it's long hiding.
A death of a loved one was funny in a sense.
A mockery to experience.
You already lost a person you held dearly to your heart and if that wasn't bad enough, you still had to deal with that numbing pain that clung to you. Everywhere you go, it was always in the back of your mind and would stay there until the day you die.
Unluckily for him, he lost two loved ones, bringing him excruciating heartache during the nights he'd spend staring at the ceiling of his shared dormitory. It didn't help that he had to share a room with a complete stranger for four years when it could've been one of his best friends.
"It's been a while." The twenty-four-year-old smiled sadly.
The summer before uni, Park Jimin thought about his own future. It's obvious he had to adjust some of his plans after the tragic events that happened in his life.
Actually, he had to adjust them a few times.
His original plan was to take a year-long break after graduation with Jung Hoseok and Min Yoongi to travel— especially after Min Doori's death which impacted all three of their lives tremendously. But after his brown-eyed friend took his own life, his main focus was taking care of his ex. Yoongi wouldn't have been able to go to college in his state of mind, leading the male to make the decision of using his break to stay by his friend's side... until his friend left his side first.
At that point, there was no use of delaying his studies. That summer, he made the final decision of moving into a dorm and leaving everything behind. With the losses he had to endure through the same way, it was no surprise that he chose to major in psychology.
"So much has changed since the day I graduated high school and visited you two." He huffed, running his hand through his dark locks. His pink hair had been gone for seven years now, the male redyeing his hair back to it's natural, dark brown color before moving out of his house. It may have been stupid but at the time, he was afraid that his appearance would remind him of the past.
"I'm not sure if any of our friends have told you yet but Hoseok," He lightly grazed a finger over the carved stone over the brown-eyed boy's grave. "Your parents died in a plane crash three months ago. They were on a business trip when their private jet's engine broke down. I believe that it's cruel to wish death upon others but I can't help but feel that they deserved it. Karma finally bit their asses after how they treated you."
The man laughed to himself, arranging the assorted red and pink roses he bought on his way to the cemetery. He placed one bouquet on the corner of Hoseok's stone and placed the other on Yoongi's.
"I've been working on something for three years now." He revealed, picking at the strands of earth protruding from the soil. "Ever since I graduated from university, I've been working with a bunch of people— lawyers, our friends, Yoongi's dad, and other victims. I attended courtrooms after courtrooms to discuss and finalize it. In less than a month, our South Korea government will pass a law stating that discrimination against brown-eyed people is unlawful. With the right evidence, anyone who has mistreated a person with brown eyes in the past will be put behind bars.
"After sharing Hoseok's story and writing reports about what I've learned from my psychology classes to back up our project, the Constitutional Court finally approved the law last month. I even went back to our high school to retrieve old footages from the cctv cameras— thankfully, the school kept them— and filed an arrest warrant against Oh Sehun. He's currently in jail awaiting his trial that'll be held in the next two months. It's pending right now because the new law hasn't officially been passed yet but once it has, I'm testifying as a witness against him."
Was Jimin proud of himself? Hell yeah he was.
After years of fighting for justice for his dead friends, things were finally paying off. He wouldn't have been able to do it if it weren't for his other friends and Yoongi's dad. Min Daehyun was the reason that the man even had the chance to meet with lawyers who were willing to fight for his project. He may not have been as open about his affection like his wife was but he did care about his son and he knew how much Hoseok meant to him. So when Jimin proposed his idea, the older man was more than willing to help.
The raven-haired man continued talking about what's been going on in his life since he last visited— like how he's a full-time psychologist now and how he's still single but isn't planning on changing that status for a little longer. It kind of made him feel guilty that he had so much to catch them up on.
It wouldn't be that way if only he would've had the courage to visit more often.
"Yoonji's graduating high school soon but I'm sure she already told you that herself. That little girl's lost a mother and two older brothers yet she still had the courage to visit you every month... I lost two friends and I avoided their graves for seven years." He scoffed to himself before his features softened, his shaky voice whispering "She's all grown up now."
"Therapy's helped her a lot and she's been happier lately." He informed them with a proud smile.
Small footsteps hurriedly approached the seated male, Jimin immediately looking up at the sound of pitter-pattering shoes against the graveled path.
"Appa!" A little boy beamed, holding a dandelion between his chubby fingers.
"Hey, sunshine." Jimin greeted, pulling the munchkin in his lap. His ocean blue eyes fondly looked into the boy's blue and brown eyes.
"I got you a flower." The five year old took the raven head's bigger hand into his and placed the dandelion on his palm.
"That's so thoughtful, baby. Thank you." The male pecked the child's cheek, a giggle leaving his tiny frame.
"Appa, why are you talking to rocks?" The munchkin questioned innocently, making his dad chuckle at his cuteness.
"Geunie, I wanna introduce you to some of my close friends."
"Like Kookie-Appa and TaeTae-Appa?"
"Sort of. I was closer to these ones than Kook and Tae."
"Like Jinnie-Appa and Joonie-Appa?"
"Why do you ask so many questions?"
The little boy shrugged.
"No, these ones are even closer to me." Jimin turned the munchkin around, the boy's back now snuggling against his dad's chest. He pointed at the left stone. "That's Yoonie-Appa. He was kind to me and I've known him since we were little kids like you."
His son's eyes widened. "Wasn't that like— a hundred years ago?"
"Okay, now you're just insulting me." The man snickered before pointing at the other stone. "And that's Hobi-Appa. He was the nicest person you could ever meet."
The little boy pouted. "Did they turn into rocks because they were too nice?" He gasped in fear. "Does that mean I have to start being mean?!"
"No, baby." Jimin sighed, his son's questions slowly making him consider taping his mouth shut until he was done with his introduction. "They're on a really really long vacation. These stones are just here to make up for them not being here."
"Will I get to meet them?"
"Not anytime soon but maybe one day." He left a sweet peck on top of the boys head, ruffling his hair before going back to talking to his friends. "You're probably wondering who this is."
The little boy looked up, patiently watching his dad talk to his friends.
"This is Jaegeun." Jimin introduced. "Soon to be Park Jaegeun." He hugged the munchkin closer to his chest.
"I'm in the process of finalizing his adoption papers before I can legally call him my son but I already see him as my own even without the paperwork." He explained, looking down at Jaegeun's different colored eyes that were already staring back at him. "While I was working on my project, I decided to go down to the adoption center just to see if they had any children with brown eyes that I could— I don't know, add to my files? I don't really remember but I saw this kid that caught my eyes."
Jaegeun had a heart-shaped smile similar to Hoseoks and cat-like eyes similar to Yoongi's. Call him crazy but Jimin believed that the boy was some kind of reincarnation of his two friends. Especially when the kid had heterochromatic eyes. His left orb was sea blue while the right one was chocolate brown.
An oxymoron by itself.
"I started visiting the center more frequently until I eventually fell in love with this kid." The raven head smiled, he could only imagine Yoongi and Hoseok's proud faces. "He's my little ball of happiness now."
"Appa, can I talk to them too?"
"Of course, sunshine."
Jaegeun beamed before pretending to clear his throat, looking at the stones in front of him. "Hi, Yoonie-Appa! Hi, Hobi-Appa! I'm Jaegeun but you can call me sunshine like my appa and my wannabe appas."
Jimin snickered.
"T-thank you for being nice to my appa. I love him a lot and I like seeing him happy."
His dad grinned, him and the audience would agree.
He let his son babble on about whatever came to his mind until the sun was almost out.
"Okay, that's enough for now. We should go. It's getting late, baby." Jimin let the munchkin crawl out of his lap and stood up himself, dusting both off their bums off of any dirt.
He took his happiness' hand in his hold, thanking his past in front of him before turning around and leaving the memories.
He promised himself he would return soon.
And this time, he didn't break it.

You have no idea how much it hurt me every time I had to write "man" instead of "boy" to describe Jimin 😔
Feels like it was only yesterday when I wrote the chapter of him and Hoseok meeting for the first time during Yoongi's basketball practice 🥺
This is the last POV that I'll be writing for this book. I feel like I'm just dragging the story on if I add more. This and Yoongi POV:2 should be enough of a reassurance that all of them are content in the end.
With that said, thank you for supporting this book and showering it with tears and love. I've read all of your sweet messages and tried my best to respond to most of them. You guys are literally amazing and I appreciate EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU <3
Go check out my Namjin book, Dire Pinky, or my new Sope book, Death's Charmer, if you haven't already!
