Your teeth clattered together, the end of winter had struck you and Mei hard, she was a bit more accustomed to it, but she still was struggling. You walked into the apartment that you held with her, two hot chocolates in your gloved hands for you and your lover. You walked in to see Mei laying across the sofa, multiple festive blankets sat on top of her, yet she still shivered. Out of the corner of her eye she saw you and lifted the edge of the blankets, not enough to let out any heat but enough to entice you to join her, maybe if you acted like penguins you would find some kind of heat.

"Oohh, hot chocolate, thank you." Without hesitation she raised the mug to pursed lips and took a hearty sip. You tunnelled underneath her fortress of potential heat and snuggled up next to her, she was stone cold even with the blankets on and the radiators turned up to full. She nuzzled her head into your neck, and you could slowly feel the temperature rise as you both sat together quivering in the cold. "That is a little bit better." She wrapped her arms which were encased in a thick, knitted jumper around you.

"Where's Snowball?" You asked her, the spritely little thing normally followed wherever she went.

"He is down for some firmware updates, best to get them out of the way, not much that he can help with at the moment anyway."

"I know, it's still so cold." You leant in even closer to her, you could almost feel her chilly breath on you.

"Snuggle in closer then." She managed to get closer than you thought possible, her cheek smushed against your Christmas jumper as her head rested on your chest and she wrapped her legs around your waist as she lay at your side.

"You know how it's really cold Mei?" She looked up at you in very visible confusion.

"Uumm yes?"

"You know that the little window above the window is wide open right? In fact, all three of them are?" Her eyes shot wide open, she jumped onto her feet and trampled over you to reach the windows.

"I'm so sorry!" She jumped up in vain attempts to close the breezy portal. "I couldn't close it yester and you were out doing the groceries and I thought that I would ask you to do it and I completely forgot!"
