Lena Oxton- Early Morning Christmas (a)
Christmas was never really something that you had celebrated as a child, apart from a few loosely thought out presents and a very half-assed meal there was nothing special, it was just another day. Ever since you had been with Lena though, every Christmas was a magical and magnificent time, she completely changed your view on the holiday, making you realise that it truly was one of the most wonderful times of the year.
You woke up like it was every other morning, rolled out of bed and poured a hefty cup of coffee, it wasn't until you realised that Lena wasn't harassing you as she normally did, that you remembered that today was the 25th.Tinsel and holly lined the halls and decorations swung from the ceiling, all leading up to the very large pine tree that sat in the corner of the living room. From top to bottom the tree was adorned with a myriad of baubles and reems of tinsel in a dazzling array of colours and designs, underneath the tree Lena sat with crossed legs and a red and white hat perching neatly on top of her head.
"Mornin' love!" She jumped up from her seated position and ran towards you, swinging her arms around you and almost knocking the steaming cup out of your hand, she threw a hat very similar to hers onto your head and pulled it on tightly before using it to pull you down to her height to plant a very excited kiss onto your lips.
"My god... how long have you been up?"
"What time is it?" She was still in her fluffy pyjamas and bunny rabbit slippers, it did not appear that she had only just woken up because even on most Christmases she wasn't what one would call an early morning person.
"I don't know, like eight?"
"Hhmmm... about four hours then."
"What were you doing up at four in the morning?" Lena gestured to the array of decorations that sat on the walls of your house. "Oh... right."
"Are we going to open our presents then?" Lena jumped back to where she had begun and sat back down, she pulled one of the presents that you had chosen for her out from under the tree and sat it on her lap. "Come on! I've had to wait a whole year to do this again, please don't make me wait any longer." You clambered over the furniture to join her under the tree, you followed suit and picked out a present, her wrapping was significantly nicer than yours but then again, she did have much more practice. She picked the gift up and eagerly rattled and shook the box, trying to decipher what was packaged inside.
