Happiness Is A Pipe Dream
I had a dream once that I met happiness
Her smile was warmer than the sun
And her skin brighter than the moon
And her eyes shined like the stars
I asked her how I could acquire
Such youthful composure
And she shook her head
Almost sadly
She said to me
Some people are weighed down
By the sandbags of adulthood
And this messed up society
At way too young an age
They forget the warmth of joy
And let childhood nostalgia
Eat away at their insides
Until they're husks
Of their younger selves
