T.H.I.R.D

Sam's heart raced, watching hopelessly as his friend got shoved into a cop car. Blue and red lights flickered around him, sirens blaring repeatedly in his ears. The Ireland boys were also in quite a predicament, talking with the cops as they were forced to tell their story. Sam gulped as a mental battle went on in his head as he wondered what to do. Should he take action? Maybe he'd run away and grab Colby. Sam just wanted to help the brunette, knowing that his anxiety was probably going through the roof.

Sam sat in the cop car uselessly, his hands trapped behind him by metal cuffs. There was a cold burn, his wrists unbelievably sore from the amount of thrashing used. Sam's head perked up, watching as Colby talked to the cops as calmly as possible. Sam knew he was extremely worried, who wouldn't be? Even Sam was worried, but not for himself. He was worried about Colby, his outfit giving a vulnerable vibe for prison. Let's just say the Justin Bieber shirt made him an easy target, his nails making it worse.

Suddenly, Colby's face turned pale, Sam watching as the color leaked from his features and distress became his main emotion. What was happening? Sam was clueless, he constantly wanted to help and protect his dread-filled friend. Sam fought the urge to kick the door, fought the urge to shout and yell until the attention was on him and not Colby. He knew this was serious, he knew Colby was scared and yet Sam couldn't help him. Colby's head dropped to his chest blankly as he was led into a cop car. The door slammed shut behind Colby, Sam watching with caution.

Sam watched as a cop entered the other car, the vehicle behind driven off and leaving Sam with the others. Pitifully, Sam watched as the cops walked over toward him, watching as they chuckled lightly at their joke. Sam scowled at them, watching as their eyes directed to him. One of the cops scowled as well, giving Sam a death glare as the other one just smiled gently, having a bubbly personality.

Both front doors of the car opened, and the cops slipped in and shut the door. They didn't acknowledge Sam yet, turning on their radio as they listened to other cops. Suddenly, the mischievous cop turned toward him, sending him a glare as he talked,

"You have the right to remain silent, kid. Don't ask questions, we know you're up to something." Sam felt anger control him as he felt a growing rage beneath him, the need to know Colby's whereabouts was strong.

"Where's Colby?" Sam asked with gritted teeth, fighting back his rage with an extreme amount of effort as he didn't want to make his situation most relevant. The nicer cop sighed, driving as he kept his eyes on the road.

"Don't worry, kid. You guys can meet up with each other at the station." The nicer cop stated, not smiling as he hid something from Sam. Sam's mind noticed the cop's discomfort, noticing how the topic of Colby was very low. What's wrong with Colby? What didn't Sam know about? Sam didn't ask the questions verbally, but his mind raced with questions over and over again mentally.

What did Colby do?..

Sam sighed, his wrists being cuffed harshly behind his back as he was led into the station, two police officers by his side. Sam scowled at people, seeing how easy to judge they were as they gave him dirty looks. Sam was shoved forcefully into a room, seeing multiple chairs. Suddenly, familiar blue eyes met his, the piercing bright blue beautiful as they were filled with fear. Sam gulped, fighting back tears as he rushed over to his friend.

"Sam!" Colby cried, running up to him as well, feeling his heart race with relief. They collided together, Colby wrapping his arms around Sam's neck and stuffing his face into the crook of his neck, the familiar scent overly comforting. Colby fought tears, feeling Sam give his back a tight squeeze, not releasing him any time soon. "I-I... I'm so glad you're here..." Colby mumbled into his neck, not letting go of Sam. Sam chuckled wetly, he, himself, fighting off tears as well.

"I'm so glad you're safe..." Sam whispered, his heart fluttering in happiness. Slowly, Colby's arms released Sam, and soft blue eyes stared into Sam's soul gently, emotions running through him as he was still anxious but also overly relieved. Colby gently smiled, his eyes glossy as he put a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"We're going to be okay... right?" Colby asked, not fully being sure if it was true. Colby was busy building up the courage to tell Sam about the fake IDs. His stomach was clenching his anxiety, the feeling of a knot forming in his stomach as he wanted to sob desperately. In the end, Colby held his composure, refusing to break as he had to stay strong. Sam gulped, looking at Colby and placing his hand on Colby's shoulder too.

"Of course! I won't let you out of my sight, dude. You'll be safe, I promise." Sam promised him, shaking his shoulders lightly with a smile. Colby forced a smile on his face, trying to keep his emotions under control, the deafening amount of fear coursing through his veins with an extra amount of strength. Colby's smile fell, and he looked down as he muttered a confession,

"My bail's too high..."

Sam's brows furrowed, not being able to understand his muttered words. Sam felt his heart tug, a sense of unease surrounding him as he felt the need to ask. "What?" Sam asked, noticing how silent Colby was. Sam lifted Colby's chin gently, making the brunette look at him. Colby shook his head, clenching his teeth in desperation as the tears he fought off finally fell.

"My bail is too high!.." Colby cried, clutching Sam's shirt as he cried into his shoulder. Those words hit Sam like a truck, the feeling of his heart sinking was prominent as multiple thoughts ran through him. Sam froze, the trembling brunette sobbing into his shoulder, wet tears coating his skin. Shock took over, the fear of Colby being badly hurt was an understatement. Sam was petrified, the lingering feeling of losing Colby was still there.

"Hey, hey, c-calm down, dude..." Sam said softly, trying to contain his own fear. He wrapped his arms tightly around Colby's torso, keeping him safe in his arms for as long as he could. "Shh, it's okay..." Sam promised, rubbing Colby's back comfortingly. Colby's knees buckled, going limp in Sam's arms as his body shook with sobs. "Hey, dude, it's okay, I promise, I promise..." Sam trailed off, tears brimming his eyes.

Slowly, Sam sank to the floor, holding Colby in his arms as they sat on the floor together, sobbing. "I'm s-sorry!" Colby sobbed, his arms wrapped tightly around Sam's neck. Sam gulped, clutching Colby until his knuckles turned white.

"It'll be okay..."

Sam and Colby were both sat in chairs next to each other, Sam's thumb caressing Colby's hand as he held it comfortably. Their tears were dried, only leaving glossy cheeks. Sam was still overwhelmed, wanting to fight, scream, shout, punch, and possibly murder. He'd do anything to make sure Colby's safe. Colby was uncomfortable, watching as men passed by him with predatory looks. As long as Colby had Sam, he'd stay stable.

Abruptly, the man beside Colby looked him up and down, smirking with a devilish look on his face. Colby glanced over at him, watching as the man licked his lips, parting his lips, the man spoke, his deep voice scaring Colby,

"They're gonna love you in jail," He whispered darkly, staring at Colby's thighs. Colby gulped, looking over at Sam. Surprisingly, Sam heard his words, anger filling his lungs as he wanted to bash his head in. Sam squeezed Colby's hand, glaring at the man with hatred and disgust.

"What the fuck did you say?" Sam growled, seeing the discomfort on Colby's face change to worry. The man chuckled, looking at Sam with a small smirk and not responding. Sam huffed, bringing Colby closer to him. "That's what I thought..." Sam muttered under his breath, not loud enough for anyone else to hear... except Colby.

A small smile appeared on Colby's face...

"Sam Golbach?" A voice called out, Sam's heart racing as he looked at a smiling Deputy. "You're free to go!" He cheered happily, his heart pure of gold. Sam appreciated the Deputy's congrats, but he couldn't leave Colby. Sam looked at Colby with concern and worry, seeing how Colby's hands shook. Sam's heart clenched, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. Sam squeezed Colby's hand, never wanting to let go.

Suddenly, another voice called out, this time it was directed to Colby.

"Cole Brock, come to this line,"

Colby's eyes widened with fear, seeing the officer eye him disgustingly. Colby gulped, looking at Sam with pleading eyes, fear evident as his mind screamed out to him, petrified was an understatement of his emotions. Sam's eyes widened too, hopelessness in his gaze as he held Colby's hand, not letting go. Sam squeezed his hand, looking at him with a nervous smile. "I'm not leaving you... I promise." He promised, his eyes dancing around nervously as a cop made his way toward the duo.

"Don't... don't promise me anything, okay?.. You and I both know this isn't going to end well..." Colby whispered gently, fear evident on his face as he tried to remain calm. Sam's bottom lip quivered, fighting off the urge to cry as he wished to stay with his distressed friend. Colby smiled wetly, his eyes glossing over with tears as he was grabbed by a cop from behind. "Wait- Wait! Sam! Please! Let me go!-" Colby struggled against the built cop, being too weak compared to his strong grasp as his fingers were indented into his skin, dragging him away from his other half.

"Colby!" Sam called out worriedly, his wrists being grasped behind him as he was dragged away. Sam struggled too, trying to get to the brunette. Sam wanted to cry, the feeling of hopelessness and worry for the other was extreme as he wished he could switch places. "I'll get you out of here! I swear!! Please, stay safe!!" Sam shouted, a single tear dripping down his face.

And just like that, Colby was taken to the back.

Sam was done, he was now outside, gripping his hair frustratingly as he no longer had his phone. Sam couldn't call anyone. He couldn't call his parents, siblings, friends, or his girlfriend. Sam was screwed, his heart staying at the bottom as all he felt was pain. What could he do? Sure, he could go ask a random stranger to call his parents but it wouldn't change anything. Colby was stuck in jail for at least eight more hours, with no help and no one with him.

But, Sam was mostly worried about a rough topic, the kind of topic that's put into certain situations. It's stereotypical, yes, but jail has a dark history with rape or sexual assault. Sam was scared, scared that he'd get Colby's body back but not Colby. What if something happens to him? What if Colby isn't the same? If something happened to Colby, Sam wouldn't be the same either. Colby could get hurt physically too, the possibility of both was high.

Sam knew he had to do something. So, Sam sighed, walking toward the closest person he could find. The area was quiet, the time being three-thirty in the morning. The night sky was still dark, stars flying across the sky joyfully as Sam searched for someone, someone to help him save Colby.

Sam felt guilty, guilty for leaving his friend alone in jail. It was dangerous, a place that he nor Cobly should've been in the first place. Sam and Colby weren't criminals, everyone online knew that they didn't have bad intentions, just wanting to provide content for their subscribers. Both Sam and Colby knew they'd get arrested one day, but they never thought it would be as terrifying as it was.

Everything about this experience was petrifying.

Sam felt uneasy, the dark night seeming to surround him in a much darker tone than before. Sam just needed to find a way to help Colby. Sam sighed, his legs trudging forward hastily as his shoes clashed against the cold concrete ground. Sam felt anxious, trying to deny the possibility of Colby coming back home as someone else.

Suddenly, Sam bumped into someone, his train of thought disappearing as he cursed mentally. "Sorry!" Sam apologized, forgetting about his needs for a moment. Sam noticed she was a shorter woman, a friendly expression on her face as she smiled.

"Hey, it's okay! Don't worry about it..." She trailed off, seeming to get lost as shock took over her features. "Wait- Are you Sam? From Sam and Colby?" She asked, a skeptical but shocked expression on her face. Sam's brows furrowed, nodding slowly as he questioned why she asked.

"Yeah, I am-"

"Oh my god! How did you- Where's Colby? You're both trending on Twitter right now!" She shrieked, her nails clicking rapidly against her phone screen as she unlocked her phone, pulling up a photo. "Look!" She said, flipping her phone toward Sam so he could see. Sam's felt his heart race happily but nervously, the situation giving him some sort of help. Sam examined the photo, both his and Colby's mugshot side-to-side as they both seemed to have blank expressions.

"I didn't know that..." Sam mumbled to himself, ignoring her presence for a second as an idea popped up in his head. "Hey, could I use your phone to call someone?" Sam asked generously, not wanting to come across as rude but he was in a hurry. He was going to bail Colby out as soon as possible. She smiled, nodding.

"Here," She said, passing Sam her phone gently. Sam thanked her, his fingers flicking against the phone rapidly, dialing Jake's number as it was the first one her remembered. The phone's ringtone was loud, being one speaker as it rang four times.

"Hello?" Came Jake's concerned voice, a slight bit of panic hidden behind it. "Who's this?-"

"Jake! It's Sam," Sam stated worriedly, biting his nails as it was a nervous habit.

"Sam?! Oh my god, dude! Corey, Aaron, get your asses over here!" Jake shouted before returning to Sam. "Dude, how'd you get out?! You're trending the fuck out of Twitter right now!" Jake exclaimed, a small bit of relief in his voice.

"I know, I know. Look, I don't have much time, dude, but I need you to tell everyone that I'm okay, alright? I need to get Colby out as soon as possible!" Sam said, the idea of Colby being harassed hiding in the back of his mind. A small few seconds of silence corrupted them, Jake trying to comprehend his words.

"You... You didn't get Colby out?.." Jake asked, panic in his voice as he was thinking the same thing as the blonde.

"I didn't, I need to go, dude!" Sam said, panicking.

"Alright, bro, you better go, now!" Jake shouted, his heart sinking in his chest slowly. "Get Colby back safe, dude!"

"I will, dude, I will!"

Sam hung up the phone, thanking the kind lady before running off, sprinting toward the station once again as he had a mission.

He was going to bail out Colby.

Colby shuddered, the cold air of the cell slowly getting to him as he was in a small amount of clothing. Colby wasn't calm, not even a slight. He felt like his world was crashing down, and the initial panic of not meeting his cellmate started to dawn on him. His thoughts were corrupted with anxiety, nothing in his mind was positive, everything being violent or negative. Colby gulped, looking down at his hands as they shook gently, not yet being violent.

Colby couldn't wait to get out of here, couldn't wait to see his friends again and tell them how grateful he was to see them. Colby couldn't wait to be free, mentally and physically as his mind was a warzone, filled with negative thoughts. The whole place was uncomfortable, Colby not fitting in one bit as everyone else here were murderers, abusers, and criminals.

Colby wasn't a criminal.

Colby was just a kid who enjoyed making content for others, someone who liked to entertain. He liked positivity, despite his very emo music and grunge style of clothing... except for the Justin Bieber shirt.

Colby wasn't meant to be here.

Colby should be at home, cracking jokes with his friends and laughing until their faces and stomachs hurt. Instead, Colby was here, in a state of mind that could haunt him forever as everyone else around him was dangerous, the dark history of everyone's stories would mess Colby up, and he knew it. Colby was stuck with criminals! This experience was something Cobly would never forget, the possibility of it becoming worse was high too.

And apparently... Colby was right.

The sound of his cell unlocking blared in his ears, a wave of panic rushing through him as it was defined on his features, his eyes wide as he bit his tongue. Colby never felt so unsafe, the feeling of his fate arriving was prominent even though it probably wasn't the case. Colby wouldn't die, but there was a strong possibility that he would be ruined.

The cell door creaked open fast, the door banging against the wall lightly as a tall muscular man appeared through the door frame. Colby's heart raced, fingers clutched together, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead even though the atmosphere of the room was cold, and Colby could've sworn he saw a devilish look on the man's face. The man made eye contact with Colby, some sort of glare appearing on his features before he smirked evilly.

The man walked to the bunk beds silently, Colby being on the bottom bunk. The man didn't climb the ladder, standing in front of it blankly before turning his head to Colby. "What's your name, pretty boy?" He growled, his gaze filled with a predatory presence. Colby felt his heart sink, familiar situations from movies popping up in his head.

"I... I'm Colby," He stuttered, watching as the man chuckled slowly. Colby wanted Sam, he needed Sam, and he couldn't handle this. He was petrified, his lungs filling with fear as they turned ice cold, Colby noticing how prominent his muscles were.

Colby couldn't fight him even if he wanted to.

"Colby, huh? Well, Colby..." The man said huskily, getting closer to Colby. Colby backed up into the wall, his back hitting it roughly as the man got onto the bed as well. He chuckled lightly, watching as Colby turned his head to the side, ignoring the muscular man with fear. "You and I are both going to enjoy the time we have together... aren't we?" He said, watching as Colby cowered in the corner. "Look at me!" He shouted, grabbing Colby's chin roughly, making Colby's glossy blue orbs look at the male's green ones.

"P-Please, I don't want trouble..." Colby pleaded softly, desperation hidden in his tone as he just wanted to cower into a ball and cry. His eyes were filled with tears, no longer denying his future as he knew what was ahead of him.

"Awh, aren't you cute? You don't belong here, pretty boy..." He said, caressing Colby's cheek sexually, making Colby's heart clench in uncomfortableness. Colby couldn't fight back, he knew he'd be beaten to the bone. "You're so weak it's adorable... hopefully you enjoy pain, baby..." He whispered, grasping Colby's thighs. Colby gasped, whimpering as the muscular man pulled Colby onto his lap.

"L-Let me go!" Colby shrieked, feeling the man roam his hands around Colby's body. A hand clasped onto Colby's mouth, preventing him from screaming. Colby cried out, trying to pry off his hands but failing miserably. Tears fell down his cheeks, squirming desperately, trying to escape as he didn't want this.

"I'm going to have so much fun with you, baby..."

Sam tapped his foot, waiting for the guards to arrive with Colby. He'd already paid the bail, now he was just waiting for it to go through. Sam was leaning up against the wall, watching as the secretary typed into the computer, trying to process the bail as soon as possible. Sam wanted to snap, wanted to curse out the lady because of how pent-up he was. He needed to see Colby was okay, the lingering feeling of uneasiness and rage going through him. The lady was obviously tired, dealing with a large amount of people calling the station as they tried bailing Colby out.

"Alright, Samuel, the guards should be here soon. The bail has gone through, now. You'll see your friend soon. " She said with a smile and tired eyes. Sam nodded appreciatively, thanking her with sincerity. Sam waited in the room, waiting to see his other half anxiously. Maybe Colby was okay? What if Sam was worried about nothing? But then again, What if Colby wasn't okay? What if Sam was right?

Thoughts corrupted him, the negativity surrounding them as he hoped Colby was okay. Sam gulped, clenching his fists in desperation. Sam felt his heart beat faster, nervousness and excitement surrounding his emotions as it took over, the excitement of seeing Colby was over the top, but, the nervousness to see Colby hurt was also extreme.

Colby would be okay. Sam knew he'd be okay. It was only nineteen hours after all, right? Colby's dealt with worse. Colby's been in terrifying places before, right? This wasn't any different.

Except this was.

Colby was scared, scared and being assaulted without anyone to help him. Colby was hurting, this experience being completely different as hands were touching his body in unwanted places. He didn't have a chance to scream, Sam wouldn't be able to hear him.

Sam was clueless.

Sam's head perked up, hearing loud shouts from the back as there were screams following. Sam's eyes widened, his head jumping to conclusions as he thought it was with Colby. Sam fought the urge to run over there, fought the urge to check out the situation. What if it was Colby? Sam shuddered at the thought, the shouts slowly disappearing.

Loud footsteps were the next thing that caught Sam's attention, the sound of cops comforting someone...

The next thing Sam knew, a shaking Colby appeared in his vision, hickeys on his neck and his knees shaky. Sam's heart dropped, the sight of his injured and petrified friend hit deep, anger boiling in his veins as he wished to kill. "Colby?.." Sam whispered, watching as he was led over to Sam. The cops removed the cuffs, letting Colby run into Sam's arms, sobbing.

"T-They wouldn't l-let go!.." Colby cried into Sam's chest, his arms around Sam's shoulders. Sam hugged back gently, too scared that it would trigger something. Sam felt horrible, angry, sad, sympathetic, and more. Why? Why did Colby have to go through something like this?

Sam gulped, stuffing his face in Colby's hair. "H-Hey, dude, it's okay... You're safe, I swear, nobody will hurt you..." Sam promised gently, massaging Colby's scalp gently. Colby sobbed, sobbing into Sam's chest full blast as he couldn't manage anything else.

"They wouldn't let go..."

Sam was sitting in a car with Colby, holding him close as they were in an Uber. Colby was asleep, laying his head on Sam's shoulder as a pillow. Sam was still full of anger, the feeling of wanting to get arrested just to go back into jail and kill the man who did this to Colby.

But, a small amount of Sam was glad.

Sam was glad that the man didn't get anything inside Colby, so the damage was minimal. Colby was damaged mentally. Sam hated this, hated that he couldn't protect Colby, his other half, the one person he saw as a younger brother.

Sam promised himself one thing.

He wouldn't leave Colby's side ever again.

Sam knew that next time, he'd fight, fight until his last breath to make sure Colby wouldn't be traumatized like this ever again. Colby was too precious, he was tough, but he was also sensitive. Sam knew both sides of Colby, and he knew how bad it could get.

In the end, it was always just Sam and Colby.

Sam would help Colby through this.
