Sophie's P.O.V

Sophie nervously followed Jay down a dark and narrow hallway.

It would be moments from now when things would be made official and Sophie would become a real Neverseen member.

Well, to her it would be temporary.

She hoped...

She got chills and felt fear rise in her as she remembered all that these people had done to her.

They burned her parents to their deaths, kidnapped her friends and family, killed her boyfriend, injured her friends so many times...

There was no way Sophie could be like them. She would never let herself.

Never...

Jay noticed Sophie's fear and leaned down and whispered, "don't be scared. It will be over soon."

Sophie nodded and gulped as they reached a large metal door at the end of the hall.

Jay then made her way over and typed in a password and suddenly the door hissed open with smoke coming out.

Sophie looked and it was pitch black inside.

Jay gestured for her to go inside.

"You want me to go alone? In the dark?" Sophie asked.

"The darkness is the least of your worries," Jay said.

Sophie looked back and reluctantly stepped through the large doorway.

Before Sophie could change her mind and run out of there, Jay slammed the door shut behind her.

Sophie jumped, the sound of her feet hitting the ground echoed around the dark room.

Sophie wished she was back at Target stealing candy now.

"H-Hello?" Sophie squeaked, putting her hands in front of her as she took slow steps.

She was scared she would run into something— or someone.

Sophie froze him place when she was sure she heard some heavy breaths.

"Who's there?!" Sophie asked.

For a split second, nothing happened. But all of a sudden, seven spotlights lit up in the room, revealing seven dark figures with hoods over their heads. In their hands they each held sharp spears.

In unison, they all lifted their heads and brought down their hoods.

Sophie recognized it was Mai, Quan, Zach, Pheonix, Carter, Ace, and Hunter.

"EMALF!" Mai shouted, lifting her spear in the air.

"EMALF!" Everyone then shouted after her, repeating her action.

Then huge bright flames lit up and surrounded the room, causing Sophie to jump.

"Well this is a bit dramatic," Sophie mumbled under her breath.

Sophie tried to make eye contact with one of them but they were all looking straight ahead.

Suddenly, Ace took several steps forward and met Sophie near the center of the room.

He lifted his spear and hit it against the ground, causing a round podium to rise in between Ace and Sophie that had a black book resting on it.

"Sophie Foster," Ace spoke, looking right at Sophie now and giving her chills.

"Y-Yes?" Sophie squeaked, trying so hard to look tough but failing.

"What is the meaning of your presence here today?" Ace asked.

Sophie cleared her throat. "Uh— I have c-come to make myself an of-official member," she stuttered.

"Then let us begin. Place your right hand on this black book," he instructed.

Sophie quickly did as he asked, scared that if she took too slow then he would stab her with his spear.

"Sophie Foster, repeat after me," Ace said. "I submit myself to the Neverseen."

"I submit myself to the Neverseen," Sophie said, feeling eyes on her.

"I can only destroy, for I am the flame," Ace continued.

"I can only destroy, for I am the flame," Sophie said, feeling like that line was a bit weird.

"My blood concludes and now sparks the flame," Ace concluded.

"My blood concludes and now sparks the flame," Sophie finished.

It took Sophie a second to realize what she just said.

"Wait— what? My blood?!" Sophie asked, confused.

"Yes, you must spill your blood for this to be complete," Ace said.

"Uh—"

Ace suddenly, pulled out a small scythe from his pocket, lifting it in the air.

It's shiny glow almost blinded Sophie.

"Bring out your hand," Ace instructed.

"Uh— what are you gonna do?" Sophie asked, feeling sweat drip down her face.

"Bring out your hand!" Ace commanded, his voice having an edge to it.

Sophie instantly stuck out her hand in front of her and trembled. She looked to see if someone was going to say something but everyone remained silent.

She was hoping at least Pheonix would do something but she remained still.

The only thing Sophie noticed was Carter nervously staring at her but when Sophie caught his gaze, he quickly looked away.

Sophie was too busy looking at everyone else to realize that Ace had already gripped her wrist and was now raising the scythe above her hand.

Sophie widened her eyes in horror but before she could scream anything, Ace brought down his scythe quickly and sliced across her hand.

Sophie screamed at the top of her lungs and fell to the ground, clutching her hand.

Blood was spilling everywhere and Sophie knew the cut was deep.

Ace then yanked Sophie up and dragged her to a pit of fire that wasn't too far away.

For a second, Sophie thought Ace was going to throw her into the fire but all he did was lift her hand over it to allow blood to drip into it.

Sophie felt the heat burning her skin and making her eyes tear but she was more focused on her cut hand that felt like it was on fire and being sliced up several times.

"You are now an official member. You are to get a flame tattoo on your wrist in the morning," Ace said.

Sophie caught her breath once he let her go.

It was then that Sophie remembered how each member had a flame tattoo on their wrist.

Now she would get one.

Sophie clutched her hurting hand and just put the flame tattoo subject to the side. Right now she needed someone to help her with her hand.

"Is someone going to h-help me with my hand?!" Sophie shrieked, feeling like bursting into tears any second.

Ace looked almost amused but he recovered and said, "Carter can help you with that. Just follow him out of the room."

Sophie nodded and found Carter who was looking at her. She then made her way to Carter, where he was heading out a back entrance.

Sophie was almost out of the room when Mai called behind her, "from this point on, you are an official member. There is no going back now."

DUN DUN DUNNN!!

WELL LOOKS LIKE SOPHIE IS IN THE REAL DEAL NOW!
