Stronger Than She Seems
Gwenn was waiting where Jay would always stay at, in front of the coffee shop. She refused to start work until she saw that Jay was safe and sound. The clock ticked and it was soon 11 a.m. Jay soon got onto the main street with his tote bag hanging over his shoulder and saw Gwenn.
"Hey, Gwenn!" Hearing her name, she looked over in surprised. "Jay..?" She waited until he approached the matt and sat down on it. "Hey, why weren't you here last night?" Jay responded by pointing at the broken-into store. Gwenn must've dropped her apartment keys when she covered her mouth. She looked over at the broken into store. "Why didn't you call the cops!?" Jay sighed, "Because they would either kill me but they would've also gave me money to stay quiet." He admitted. Gwenn knew he was right, people who would do something in front of him would give him money to stay quiet. It was his way of getting food and water and everything else to keep him living.
Gwenn sighed, "Did they take anything important?"
"No..." Jay replied to her question.
She exhaled then inhaled in relief. She spotted the tote bag over his shoulder. "What's in there, Jay?" Jay just shook his head. "Just clothing." He told her. "May I have some coffee, Gwenn?" Gwenn instantly brightened up, "Oh of course you can!!" She ran in the coffee shop then later on came out with a cup of coffee and gave it to him. "Here." She gave it to the man and he took it. "Thank you" Gwenn hugged him soon after then went into the coffee shop.
It suddenly became 11:30 a.m when a boy with familiar clothing and eyes approached Jay. "Hey, Jay!! Call me Aggie okay??" Jay smirked, "Alright Aggie. Sorry I didn't tell you yesterday that your face was nice." Aggie pouted, "Shut up!!" Jay cleared his throat and changed the subject, "Sit down by me, would you like some coffee..??" Aggie sat down next to him, "Oh of course!!" He smiled. Jay picked up the coffee Gwenn gave him and gave it to Aggie. Aggie took it and sipped it a bit, "Wow! It tastes good!" He exclaimed. Jay only chuckled. He laid down on his matting while Aggie drank his coffee. Once he had his back against the ground and shit eyes closed, he heard liquid splatter everywhere and a small confused shriek from Aggie.
He instantly got up and looked over at what had happened. Poor Aggie was covered in coffee. A person took his coffee and had dumped it on him. "Hey! You can dump coffee on me but never my friends!" He yelled. The man was tall and masculine, looked like he was in his mid-twenties. "Protecting your boyfriend, huh?" The man cackled at his own joke. Jay punched him in the stomach hurting his hand during the process. "Shit! You punch good you homeless fuck."
He growled as Jay took Aggie by the arm and ran off into a alley way. The man followed him shouting and screaming curses at them. He ran into a dead end at the alley way and soon held Aggie close as if to protect him. The guy smirked and took out a machete. He approached them slowly when Jay saw Gwenn at the entrance. She was pissed. She caught the attention of the main. When she did, he started catcalling at her. A crowd of people started to form around the alley way because of the well-known kind waitress who worked at a coffee shop every day was willing to take on a masculine man.
The man went over to her and tried to hug her but was instantly interrupted when she had punched him in the face knocking him out instantly. Everyone in the crowd gasped when she knocked him out in one go. She grabbed Jay by the arm and dragged him as hedragged the small Aggie away and out of the alley way.
As she dragged them past the crowd Jay decided to tell them all something. "Lioness' hunt, they grow strong while they're hunting while their leader sits and waits for food. They'll hunt down anything that is valuable for them. So dont fuck with a girl. She might kill you in one go even if she doesn't look like she could." The crowd was amazed by Jay's small speech and was let go on his matting, same with Aggie.
He glanced at Aggie and asked, "Want to go to the base to get you cleaned up?" He nodded at Jay as they started walking off the main street. Jay got a couple of hours of sleep while Aggie took a shower and changed. Aggie waited on the couch sipping some hot chocolate till the rest of Prism Mock arrived.
