Monochromatic pallets
"Is that yours?" i ask, looking at the painting in monochrome on your canvas,
You nod & shoot me a weak smile,
You must be tired i thought.
"I do too..." i speak again,
"You do?" your words follow
"Here," i show you a snap of my canvas bursting up in all shades of color.
"Its pretty," you complimented.
"Yours is beautiful," i find myself saying.
Days pass, i see myself picking your habits,
With them your colors too.
You smile wider & paint brighter,
I was happy to Know that i could be the reason,
We painted our world in bright & pastel hues,
It was pleasing to eyes
But my mind didn't follow through.
One day you came to show me your canvas,
I smile to see that it was in bursting colors.
Your smile faded,
When i saw you pointing at mine.
You spoke with ease, on how I make you depress?
You suggest is should be with someone,
That is more like me
'Cause all of a sudden,
Monochrome is something
In you can't breathe.
You left; No more words spoken,
No exchange of colors.
& now i see myself living in monochromatic pallets.
Until that one day again,
"Is that yours?" he ask, looking at the painting on my canvas,
I nod & give him a weak smile, thinking what might interest him in that ruins of past,
"I do too..." he speak again,
"You do?" my words followed.
"Here," he showed me a snap of his canvas Bursting up in all shades of colors,
"Its pretty," i see myself saying,
"Yours is beautiful," he utter.
Days later, i see him picking My habits,
With them my colors too.
I ask myself, 'should i be selfish or just let him go?"
I answered this question, when i ask him to leave
Followed by "your colors suffocate me."
He asked over&again,
tried a little too
But i can't let him in, no more.
I'd rather live in my monochromatic pallets,
Than to steal his colors too...
