We ran through the dim of the hallways looking through each kennel til cash called me over "is this him!?" Cash asked, I ran over looking into the kennel, I turned to cash and nodded "yes that's him" I said in a serious tone. I unlocked the kennel to find Max lying on the floor in fetal position, I walked in and tapped on his bare skin, he was shaking with fear I'm guessing. He only had shorts on like me, I could see the outlines of his ribs. He moved and turned to me, his face skinny and boney.

His eyes read suffering, my eyebrows narrowed come on guys let's go get Matt then get out of here, I slid my arms under Max and picked him up. I slowly lifted him with the little strength I had left, my arms shaking as I walked. It hurt but it's my job to take care of my brother. We walked down so many different hallways I have lost count by now, I'm surprised we haven't ran into any bad guys by now. We stopped in one of the hallways to take a rest, I gently set max on the floor next to cash. We all sat on the floor out of breathe "Kenny I think Matt is gone, we don't have much strength yet and sooner or later their going to find out we left the kennels who knows maybe they already did find out. We just need to get out of here" cash said to me with little breathe. I looked at cash then down at the floor " guys I think cash is right, I mean we've been looking around forever and maybe Matt is out their or maybe hes gone" I said petting chase who's head was resting on my lap. Casey gave me a look of worry, she nodded.

Cash got up front the ground and walked over to a small rectangular window where little light shined through. "Do you think one of us could get through it? It's at ground level meaning were in a basement" cash said looking for a latch on the window seal but nothing was their, he bit his lip. "I don't know cash that would be a tight fit" I replied uncertain. " may as well try though right I mean we're skinnier than we used to be" remarked Casey. Cash pushed on the window until it broke "Ow shit!" Cash screamed, he pulled his hands away from the broken window, blood dripped from his cut up wrists with the glass sitting in his skin, he pulled out the glass pieces from his wrists and looked out the window "it's a bit of a mess but we can get out of here all right" he said biting his bottom lip and looking out the small window. "A mess?" I asked unsure of what he meant by a mess "yeah mud, some glass" cash replied. "Well who's going up first?" Casey asked raising her eyebrows. "I go" a voice replied that came from in the dark corner at the end of the hall, he stepped into the little light coming through the window.
