They barked and snarled with their noses scrunched  up. My breathing became shaky as I reached for the door handle. They lunged at me with their shriveled bodies, I fell to the ground trying to reach the handle why lying on my stomach as the dog's chew on my body. I screamed as a big dog sunk his teeth into my leg, I cried out as I reached for the knob. I felt the weight of the dog's lifting off me, chase was fighting them off. I always knew chase would be their for me, I grabbed the door and opened it "chase come on!" I called out as I tried to hurry into the next hall, chase jumped through the door right as I shut it and fell to the floor, I screamed holding my mingled leg. Chase walked to me, I felt wetness touch my leg. Chase was licking my leg to help, I scooted my back to the wall to hold me up as I sat on the floor. Chase walked to me and sagged his tail, I smiled and hugged him tight. Tears running down my face " thank you chase thank you". I brought his face away from my chest and held it in front of me and looking him in the eyes "we need to find the others chase can you help me?" I asked him. He looked at me with hope and barked in response.

I got up on my feet unbalanced, I walked passed empty kennels and into the next hall, the one I was in earlier, I went to the cage and found Cash lying on the floor in a ball. I unlocked the lock "Cash I came to help you come on let's get out of here!" I yelled with excitement, cash didn't move nor speak. He just stayed still lying on the floor "leave me behind I'm dying anyways" he said quietly. "No I'm not gonna leave you Cash their something out their I know it" I said in response. He moved slowly and turned to me "ok" he said quietly limping out of the kennel, "we have to go find my brother and my friends" I told cash as we limped down the hall, he nodded. We got into the next room it was quiet and dark. The kennels were full of teens, girls in particular. I noticed Casey sitting in one of the kennels, she looked up to the noise of the lock I jiggled. A slight smile appeared on her boney face "Kenny!" She yelled in excitement running out of the kennel and hugging me, she started to sob on my shoulder as I held her "it's ok I promise I'll get all of us out of this town and over the wall alive" I whispered kissing the top of her head. She backed out of the hug then noticed chase "hi boy!" She hugged him excited. I smiled as I watched her hug chase, I noticed cash looking at me with a serious face, a small smile showed through his face. "Lets go find the others" cash said walking to the door, we followed into the next room.
