we were waiting outside of the door to where roni is and the nurse came out of her room and everyone rose up.

"veronica's okay she's just going through a painful recovery." the nurse addressed.

"is she awake?" i nervously asked.

"yes sir she is awake." the nurse said.

"right now she's under medication and one of the side effects is that her whole body will slowly become paralyzed except her eyes. it isn't happening right now but she will continue using the medication as the side effect will kick in." the nurse said.

"you guys can go on in and talk to her. she may not remember you."

"w-what do you mean she can't remember me." i stuttered.

"the doctors did a diagnosis and it said that she has a low count of amnesia." the nurse said.

"w-what do you mean? no she can't she can't have amnesia." i said brushing my hand through my hair.

"ethan, c'mon let's go." grayson said patting my back and bringing me inside roni's room.

i walked in and saw roni laying on the bed with an oxygen mask on, her eyes half open.

"roni!" i yelled not as loud to wake up everyone in the hospital but loud enough so roni could probably hear. i ran to roni hugging her tightly.

"sorry to interrupt but remember she might not remember what's happening or who you are." the nurse reminded as she walked passed the door then walked away.

"i missed you so much." i whispered to roni holding her head to mine making our foreheads touch.

"me too." roni said as fog filled up the oxygen masked while she spoke.

"you remember me?" i asked raising my head staring into her eyes.

"of course, how could i forget about you." roni said fogging up the whole mask as she took a breath between every 2 words. i started to cry and grabbed the oxygen mask and took it off for a second to kiss her then quickly putting it back on.

"i love you, veronica jo merrell. I love you." i sniffled. a tear rolled down from roni's cheek. i kissed her forehead, trying to cherish a moment with her when it will possibly be the last.

a/n: hello this is a pretty short chapter but it's called over the phone for a reason can't have too long written chapters unless you want more? but im backkk!! i hope y'all are doing fine and happy that there's another chapter for you all i'm pumped for other chapters to come. (and maybe stories)
