"Five minutes to hit as many balls as possible...think of Leo and...GO!" Imogen said, pressing the button on the automatic machine which popped balls at a fast machine.

Imogen watched with stopwatch around her neck as Eddie moved like an animal with gritted teeth. She nodded, impressed as he darted back and forth around the court in a way that even Andy Murray would be proud of.

Someone tapped her on the shoulder, so she turned momentarily, with one eye on Eddie. Jay stood there, today with a white headband pushed through his hair, with some strands hanging over the fabric over his eyelids, so that he briefly looked like world renowned player Roger Federer.

"He's looking good" Jay nodded, impressed. "It's almost like he was never injured"

Imogen returned her full attention back to Eddie with folded arms and nodded. "It was a joint effort" she smiled at Jay who nodded knowingly.

"Anyway, just give me a few more minutes" she glanced down at her stopwatch and nodded. "I'll be with you in a second".

The pair watched as Eddie did his thing until the stopwatch beeped at her and she dashed over to stop the machine. Eddie stopped, barely panting as he reached for his water bottle and dabbed his head with a cloth.

"Alright Eddie, take a break! Go get some lunch or something?!" she yelled across the court at him. He raised a thumbs up in response, smiled uncomfortably and shuffled out of the room with his fabric backpack slung over his shoulder.

"Alright, what's up Jay?" she raised her eyebrow at him, leaning down to grab her water bottle and her bag of spare tennis balls.

"Nothing's wrong, I was just wondering if you'd seen Layla?" he shrugged, sticking his hands into his pockets and smiled at her. Imogen bent down to tie up her shoelaces and looked up at him.

"I think she's on reception with Max today actually" she gestured to the reception with her head and he smiled in thanks.

"Great! I found something really funny on Facebook to show her and needed to show her before I forgot"

"Cool. Secretly judging you for still using Facebook, but whatever, you go do that"

"Hey! Don't diss Facebook, Adam still uses it!"

"But Adam is on every source of social media out there with like hundreds of thousands of followers. We should be lucky that everyday we are in the presence of an Instagram king" he rolled his eyes and grinned. "Anyway, I'm off to find Layla, you coming?"

"Yeah, I think Eddie could do with some pals to dine with. Just like how Leo joined Rose in Titanic"

***

Eddie and Imogen sat eating sweet chilli wraps in the small café eating area, they were both secretly watching how Jay was acting with Layla. Max, who was sat next to the giggling pair, giving confused and helpless glances at them as they ate their wraps.

"Poor M-Max. I agree, there's...d-definitely something really odd here"

"Or, they're just friends" Imogen defended.

"I bloody hope so, with Sophia and everything. Maybe we're just reading too much into it, girls and boys can still be friends. I only have few friends, and a lot of them are girls" Eddie raised his hand to make his point, he sipped his diet coke from a white and red stripped straw. He looked down at his wrap and frowned, his hair falling over his forehead as he did so.

"What's wrong, don't you like it?"

"I do, I just...aren't I supposed to be eating salad or something?" his shoulders sunk and he appeared defeated.

"No. Protein is just as important, especially for you keeping up your strength" she pointed out, pointing at him with her fork. He nodded and went back to eating his wrap, except more hesitantly and so he found himself nibbling at the wrap instead of full on chowing down.

Imogen glanced round the room at the various health posters and leaflets that crowded the walls and window ledges. Her legged bounced nervously and she could not keep her hands still and kept fidgeting with her keys which she kept in her pockets.

"It's going to be okay Immy" Marie smiled reassuringly at her. "If they think it's really bad then they'll give you something, if not they'll refer you to some sort of relaxation clinic"

"What, you mean like a spa? Or meditation?" she Marie's eyes, looking for a hint of doubt or something which would show some sort of falter, but Marie never faltered and always spoke with confidence and trust even if she wasn't sure. Was she lying?

She nodded and smiled. Imogen relaxed back into the pink plush of the chair, she breathed a sigh of relieved and felt a lot more calm about the whole situation.

"Wait...how do you know so much about this? What you're saying is quite specific." Imogen glanced to the side of her, Marie's  smile quivered and she cast her eyes down to the floor and inhaled deeply.

Marie took some time to respond. Should she be honest to Imogen? She hardly every thought about it, let alone spoke about it. And anything that had to do with him was an uneasy and uncertain topic for her.

"He had trouble sleeping a few years ago" she said, her voice drained from any sort of emotion, slightly dull and airy. Imogen raised her eyebrows, she was sure that Eddie had mentioned that there were no photos or specifically wedding photos around Marie's office, any questions that were asked off him were brushed off and she never, ever, ever  spoke of him. Unless it wasn't him who she referring to.

"Are you talking about-"

"Yes" she cut her across blunt and fast, eyes distant and almost glossy as they glanced off into seemingly nowhere.  Her stormy blue eyes crashed in waves as she started playing with the silver bands on her left hand, on her wedding finger. But not once did she glance down at them, it looked, from Imogen's eyes, like something that she did quite often.

But before Imogen could dig any further into Marie's strange actions, the hatch in the waiting room that lead to the office opened and an elderly lady poked her head out.

"Imogen Roberts?"

"Yes here!" Imogen announced, raising her hand as she grabbed her rucksack and Marie sat forward. They both got up as the lady said "room five" with a polite and reassuring smile, during the walk from the waiting room through the corridor to the room, Marie seemed to settle back into her normal self and even knocked for Imogen.

"Anxiety?!" Imogen exclaimed, walking out of the surgery with a face full of shock and slight fear. She ran her hands anxiously through her hair and huffed.

"Honestly, I though they were going to diagnose insomnia, or just tell you to meditate...I was wrong. But you are quite panicky" Marie replied, stepping forward on the pavement to wave a hand at their taxi that was rapidly approaching.

"I thought my panic attacks were too irregular" she said, shaking her head in utter disbelief.

"Didn't she say it was mild?"

"Yeah...I guess it makes sense" she continued as they started towards the taxi and Marie started for the door handle. "I don't sleep cause I think and think and think"

"Yeah I'm pretty sure that's anxiety"

"It never dawned on me...hi!...before" they both slipped into the taxi and Imogen broke her conversation to talk to the taxi driver.

"Surrey Tennis Centre please" Marie smiled warmly at the driver who nodded. "Does Leo have anxiety?"

"I don't think so, but he has OCD which is quite similar 'cause you get anxious about the order of things...I think"

"My brother has it" the taxi driver said and they launched into what might not normally be, a casual conversation about mental health.

***

"I have s-social anxiety and a s-stutter and Jess has PTSD...we're all pretty messed up Immy, I wouldn't worry" Eddie said as he stretched on the matt at Imogen's feet with his bad arm. "Oh yeah and my arm flesh got half b-burnt off by a b-bloody microwave" he grinned at his tragedy. "And I'm pretty sure Marie has husband issues...?"

"Yeah, what's up with that?" she pressed her hands down onto Eddie's elbow and he cringed slightly. "Sorry"

"S-alright, and I'm not entirely sure, it's weird"

"I thought it was a nice wedding" she shrugged, getting down onto the wooden studio floor beside him. "She looked very lovely"

"Mhm, but d-don't forget, he invited us, not her, it was his writing on the invitation" he looked up at the ceiling with a slight pained look as he stretched his bad arm. "Damn, I need to redress this"

"That's strange"

"Better not bring it up though"

"True...what about Max, Jay, Adam, Layla and Peter?" she glanced back at Eddie and mopped his forehead for him with a damp purple towel and pushed some of his dark blonde hair back.

"Max has p-puns on the brain, Jay is too cheesy for his own good and a bit too f-flirty with Layla, Adam I'm pretty sure is okay and loves his life, Layla is shy and Peter is just worried about Jess but is he's not doing that he's p-pretty chilled"

"You're more of a wallflower than I thought" she smiled at him and smiled up at the ceiling and rolled his eyes. He sat up and she reached down her hands to help him up.

"I just really like tennis, there isn't that much more to my life" he bent his arm back and forth. "It's playing up a bit tonight, I need to take my painkillers, hey you won't mind helping me dress the wound would you?"

"Course not!" she beamed. "I think you've done enough today, great work, let me just put the matts back and I'll be right with you" she started around the studio, putting away the various pieces of equipment they had used to stretch Eddie's muscles.

Eddie in the mean time had left for the medical room and opened up the box that had EDDIE printed on it in big black sharpie letter written by Jay. He popped open the lid and began to unravel the bandages revealing the pad under all the covers.

"Jay are you-" Eddie spun round in a blind panic at the sound of Jessie's voice, Jess froze in the doorway, her eyes fixed on the red skin around the pad and Eddie's mouth fell open. They both stood there in silence, the past events hanging in the air awkwardly between them. Jessie's face had drained of colour and she slowly looked up at his face, eyes wide and slightly scared.

Luckily, Imogen turned up, she looked between them then moved to stand in front of Jessie, placing her hands firmly on her shoulders.

"Jess go sit with Peter, take some deep breaths and drink some water, maybe go see if Marie needs anything since you're now her PA. Eddie is okay and will always be okay"

Jessie turned, slightly robotically and walked off down the corridor without a word.

"Jesus" Eddie cursed, resting his head back against the wall, his stomach felt uneasy and he wondered just how they had got here in the first place.

"It's okay she just needs time" she started forward and slowly took a wipe out of the kit to disinfect the area, she rubbed cooling cream on the area whilst Eddie swallowed his pain killers.

"Do you think she'll be okay?"

"Eventually" Imogen smiled warmly up at him, his freckled complexion appeared incredibly worried and his forehead creased. "You should take her out for dinner or something"

"Like a d-date?!" he looked even more nervous. Oh god, Eddie and romance did not mix, ever, if he was awkward as a person as a 'lover' he might as well not exist.

"No silly" she placed down the new pad and layered the bandages over it. "Just to make her feel better, a gift from the source"

"Wow that makes me feel really great" he rolled his eyes and she laughed aloud as a grin crept onto his face.
