Chapter 15
We did it. We actually did it. We found the place.
Nathan and I actually found it. I couldn't be more thrilled but somewhere inside of me was also terrified.
I didn't know what to expect. Was this a horrible idea? Probably.
But as I continued to get ready, the adrenaline rush of actually going started to excite me.
I told about the fight club to Nathan but left out the part about Noah.
Nate thought all of this was absolutely crazy, but he still somehow found the place. I wasn't sure how Nathan could get the keychains for the place, but he did.
We agreed not to mention any of this to Sky or Sarah because I didn't want them involved if this place was dangerous.
Nathan was coming to pick me up in 10 minutes, and I'm still debated what to wear.
I knew dressing like I usually do with my baggy hoodies and leggings will not fit in a place like that.
So I picked out black jeans that were ripped just at the knees and a black crop top. I wore some gold jewelry and did some dark makeup with red lipstick.
This was way out of my comfort zone, but it had to do.
"Storm, your friend is here," my mom called out.
"Coming," I yelled back.
I looked at myself one more time in the mirror and made my way downstairs. "Hey!" I greeted Nathan. He smiled. "Ready to go?" I nodded my head.
I quickly said my goodbyes to my mom and left out the door. And we began driving.
"You look great, by the way," Nathan said. A blush crept on to my cheeks. "Thanks, Nate. You do too,"
Nathan was wearing ripped black jeans and a white shirt, and a leather jacket over it.
"Thanks," he said. "So, you still want to do this?" "No," I told him. "But I have to know,"
Nathan knew about Cassian and Ty, both lying to me about this. And that's what I told him I wanted to find out. I didn't tell him this was about Noah.
"But this is an actual game we're going to. It might get brutal," he warned.
"I know, but this is the only way,"
"What more can I say," he sighed, shrugging his shoulders. "You have the bat, right?" He asked. I took out the small black key chain identical to the one Liam had out of my bag. "Yes," I showed it to him.
"Good. We can't enter without that," he said.
"How did you even get these. Aren't the exclusive for the members-only?"
"Trust me; it was harder. It was harder than actually finding the place, but I was able to get it from someone," he didn't mention who, and I didn't bother asking either.
-
We've been driving for almost 2 hours now. The club was located in a small town called DarkVille, an odd name for a town. It was approximately two and a half hours from Norcllawn.
"We're almost there," Nathan informed. I nodded, looking out the window.
This town was beautiful. Yet quiet, almost as if not a lot of people roamed around.
"We're here," Nathan parked his car outside some empty parking lot.
"Why don't you park there?" I asked, pointing at the large parking lot across this one. "We can't," he said. "Now, you have everything, right?" He asked. "Ya," I assured him.
"Okay, let's go," we both got out of the car and made our way to the parking lot. It was guarded by two largely built man who was standing in front of standard black Kawasaki bikes.
We made our way to them, and I noticed their large bat wings tattooed on the side of both their necks.
"Get the keychain out," Nathan said. I quickly got it out and handed over to him.
"We're going in," Nate told them, showing the keychains. They didn't say anything, just nodded their heads and handed us a set of keys.
"Number 43," one of the men said, pointing over to the bikes.
Nate nodded his head, and we walked over to the bikes. "Why are we taking a bike?" I whispered to him as he handed me the helmet. "It's the way in," he told me. He got on to the bike and started it up.
I got on behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist, and we sped off.
We drove for another 30 minutes. We were going through empty streets and into the woods until we finally made our way into some factory that was hidden away.
It looked very rustic and old, almost like it hasn't been used forever, but considering if this where the fight happens, it probably hasn't.
We parked the bike and made it to the front. "Stay close," Nathan said and grabbed hold of my hand. I held on to him tight. We walked inside, going down these flights of stairs and stood in front of the door. Nathan knocked on the door twice, and a tall black man opened the door.
"Show," he said.
We lifted our keychains, and he nodded his head, and we made our way inside.
The place was filled with people, and all of them were dressed in similar outfits with crop tops, ripped pants and shorts and heavy makeup and compared to them, I felt so out of place.
Most of them had the signature bat-winged tattoo plastered onto their skins, and the others had the keychain visibly on to them.
"This is not what I expected," I told Nathan.
"Ya tell me about it,"
It was just like what you would see in the movies. A big ring right in the middle of the room. People surrounded it, and the walls were covered in posters or had chipped rustic paint. And the place was filthy.
It reeked of alcohol and cigarette smell. It was a place I would not be in. Nathan holds on to my hand tight, and I looked up at him. "Here we go," he said, dragging me to the crowd of people that were surround the ring.
"The fights about to start," he told me. He was pointing at the man standing inside.
He was a tall, build Asian man. That looked so familiar.
"Hello, my wings!" He yelled to the crowd. The grows began shouting in excitement.
"He's the leader," Nate whispered.
"We have an exciting game tonight, and I'm glad to be back to see it finally," he said. "Now, one of the club's best fighter is fighting tonight," he scanned the crowd. "Ah, there you are, come on up," he said, pointing over at someone.
He made his way inside and turned over to look at the crowd, and I felt my mouth go completely dry, and my eyes widen.
It came back to me. Who this man was.
I couldn't believe I didn't realize it as soon as I saw him.
"My son, Cassian!"
Cassian's dad. Emilio. Was he the leader of this?
"Are you okay?" Nate asked.
"No... that's Cassian," I said. Nathan looked up, still confused.
"He's my friend, the one I told you guys bout," I reminded him.
"Is that him?" He said.
"Now, let's not further delay this fight. Are you guys ready to see our first fighters?"
The crowd screamed in excitement.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome The Raven and The Bat!" He yelled, and two men entered the stage.
One was tall and with hair that stopped at his shoulder. He was build and muscular.
And the other... the other was. I couldn't believe it.
"That's Liam," Nathan next to me said. His grip on my hand tighten.
Liam was fighting.
After weeks of not seeing him, I was going to see him fighting.
I didn't know if I was prepared for that. But my feet stayed glued to the floor, and I couldn't take my eyes off him.
"Another one of our best fighter is fighting tonight with our partner's member," Cassian's father lifted their arm.
Liam looked around the crowd and smirked at all the cheers that were directed towards him. I wanted to run and hide. I didn't want him to see me.
But once again, I couldn't move. And then our eyes met.
He looked taken back to see me. His smirk turned into a scowl, and I regretted even being here entirely.
His eye travelled down to my hands, that was still intertwined with Nathan. I immediately tried to remove my hand, but Nathan's grip was tight.
"He is involved in this too?" he asked, his eye still on Liam.
I couldn't even answer him as I kept staring at both Liam and Cassian up on the ring. I knew they were both involved but to see them there made me afraid for both their lives.
I was afraid to see them both fight.
