Chapter Seven

Abe orders everyone to leave and we wait for him to gather his thoughts. He takes a deep breath before exhaling.

"Arysn was a joyful, exciting place" He starts off. "It was filled with love, so much love. The day I married Allison, I didn't think I could be more happier than that moment." He stops and glances at nothing in particular as if he was remembering that day.

"But when she gave birth to you two, I was the happiest man alive. I had a vision filled with joyous moments. I wanted to spoil you two so much, give you everything you asked."

He looks at us. "You two were always special in your own way, but it wasn't until weeks after your birth that I noticed the change in the atmosphere. You two were no longer normal but chosen to do great things. The moon and the sun chose you for something important. To carry on their life and presence."

"We didn't want anyone to know about your powers. So we kept it a secret for awhile. Everything was perfect until one day, everything went dark. If I would've noticed the signs sooner, Allison would still be here."

He close his eyes and exhales. "I went away for a kingdom meeting. I was only gone for an hour but that's as long as they needed. While I was away, they made their move. They destroyed everything and everyone in their path to get to you. Allison fought until her last breath the keep you two alive."

A tear drop from my eyes as I slowly begin to remember that day Allison died to keep us alive.

"By the time I got there, I was too late. I was too late." He repeats. "She was gone."

I suddenly feel horrible for demanding for answers. Abe felt guilty for what he couldn't have stopped.

"Allison's funeral was hard on everyone. We lost a fearless queen, an outstanding mother and wonderful wife. I thought that it was over. That they got what they wanted but they came back, determined. They come out of no where, swinging swords and setting things on fire."

The flashbacks are now making sense. We were scared of the raid. They were coming for us.

"I had guardians trying to protect me but they weren't coming for me. They were coming for you two. I happened to look up and I saw you, Millie, with so much fear in your eyes, it broke my heart. I couldn't save you. I yelled for them to help you but they wouldn't listen to me."

"But someone did." I point out. "Otherwise, I wouldn't be here."

He nods his head. "Yes someone did. Someone your familiar with. He showed no fear as he tried with all his might to protect you."

That night comes races to me. "Hayes saved me?"

"Yes. That's the main reason I chose him to be your guardian." He tells me before continuing on with the story. "After we captured the traitors, we decided, Arsyn was no longer save. We got everyone on the ships and we fled to Earth."

"You knew they would follow us" Lily says. "That's why you had us separated."

All this time, I was angry at Abe for abandoning us when all he was trying to do was keep us safe. I had another point of view of everything, now.

"You were never by yourself, I kept on eye on both of you." Abe tells us. "I wanted to give you much as a normal life as I could before it got ruined."

"What do they want from us?" I ask.

"He wants to unleash your powers for he can rule over the world." Abe tells us. "Being the siren and the seer you only know about one of your powers." He says. "Millie you have a powerful voice and Lily you can see the past, present and the future but you can also do more."

"Like what?" Lily asks for the both of us.

"Lily being the sun, you have the element of fire and anything that comes with life, like the sun." He looks at me. "You're the moon and you have the powers to move water and control animals like the moon."

My mind flashing back to that day, a wolf almost attacked us. Everything is coming together now.

"He needs you two to fulfil his plans but it's a dangerous one." He says. "It's one that requires a lot of energy. And not your normal kind. This is a life or death situation."

"Being twins you have another power. You two are connected. You're bonded together. You can feel each others' emotions. You can see what the other is seeing. But being connected also means if one dies, then so does the other."

I look at Lily. This is a lot of information to take in. I can feel the bond between us. It isn't strong. It's a very weak link.

"You won't be able to gain all your powers until your eighteenth birthday." Abe tells us. "That's the day Ramadi is most likely try to make his move."

I walk to my room, thoughts swarming through my head. I can't get a grasp at one thought because as quickly as it come, another one pops up. I think of one question and it leads to another which leads back to the first question. My head feels like it is going to explode.

I'm so wrap into my thoughts, I don't see the person walking in front of my until I bump hard against them.

He reaches out and grab my elbow before I impact against the hard ground. There's no doubt in my mind who it is as the sparks flows from his fingertips and made my heart pound.

"Are you okay?" He asks, concern.

"Yeah." I tell him, looking up.

He drops my elbow and steps back. He's about to continue his walk to whatever he was heading but I stop him.

"Why didn't you tell me, you're the one who saved me?"

He doesn't turn around as he responds back. "I didn't feel a need to tell you. It wasn't important."

"It wasn't important?" I repeat. "Saving my life wasn't important to you?"

"I did what any one else would've done."

Even though he wasn't looking at me, I had a feeling I knew him on Arysn. He isn't just the boy who saved my life. He's something more.

"I had a feeling I already knew you. I knew you from somewhere and now I know why." I say. "We were best friend."

Memories comes rushes to my mind of nights we would stare at the sky, glazing at the stars or days we would just laugh at random things.

"It had to be important if you risked your life to save me. You saved me becaue I was your friend."

I say all this to his back. He exhales and when I think he was going to turn around, he doesn't.

"It doesn't matter. It's in the past."

But he is wrong. It does matter. I can't find a way to make him see that is does. I watch as he walks away from me.
