"Where is he?" Teyll asks, worried. Or maybe he is scared. I never know with him.
"Relax." I tell him. "He's coming."
Teyll glances around him. "Are you sure? Cause I don't want King Gethol to be mad."
I begin to flip my small knife in the air and it does cartweels. Why did Gethol ask me to bring the big baby with me? I mean I'm prefectly capable of handling myself.
"He's not gonna be mad. Stop worrying so much."
It's late in the night and the full moon is shining brightly down on us. Oh what a shame. Tonight will be a perfect night to go for a hunt. I probably will after this little meeting but I'm ditching the light weigh.
I'm leaning against one of the so many trees, when I see a slight movement behind Teyll.
I stop flipping the knife and lean up as the person we've been waiting for appears behind Teyll. He doesn't even notice him.
"Boo."
Teyll jumps ten feet in the air, literally, and turns around to see a smiling Dante, one of Ramadi's men.
"Newbie, isn't he?" Dante says.
"It's been two weeks." I say, nodding.
Dante walks forward, out of the shadows and stands in front of me.
"I went by the school and the place was empty." He tells me.
I nod. "Yeah. I know. It's been like that for some days. The gate is broken."
"When do you think they'll fix it?"
I shrug. "Dunno. Probably not anytime soon."
Dante stops staring at Teyll and glances at me.
"Why not?"
"Something happened to one of the princess. Something about a traitor or two." I say not really caring.
But the new information seems to surprise Dante. His dark eyes burns with interest.
"So the rumors are true then." He says. "Arysn does have traitors among them."
I shrug again. "I guess so but you should know that already."
Dante cocks any eyebrow. "You know something I don't, Yuma?"
I love when he does that. He's so sexy. I'm pretty sure if Teyll wasn't here, I'd be taking him right here on the forest floor.
"I'm only saying that it shouldn't be such a surprise that Abe has people who wants to betray him. I mean isn't one of his closest guardian working for your leader?"
Dante crosses his arms. "I don't know. Ramadi keeps to himself these days. If he does have an outsider working for him, it has to be important."
I shrug. "Oh well. I didn't come here to discuss Ramadi private affairs."
"Would you stop jumping?" Dante asks Teyll. "I'm not gonna hurt you."
"Sorry." Teyll apologizes. "I'm just getting use to hearing every single noise."
"Would did you bring him along?"
I roll my eyes. "Dunno. You're gonna have to ask Gethol."
Dante smirks. "Speaking of Gethol, are we still in business?"
"Yes. As long as the sun is still shining." I say.
"You don't have to worry that long, my dark princess." Dante says. "The sun will be long gone by the time the plan is finished."
The corner of my lips turns up. "Sounds good. I'm getting tired of hiding in the dark everytime the sun is out."
"Then you can come out whenever you like." Dante says. "And when this goes well, I'm gonna make you mine."
He moves so fast that if I've blinked, I would've missed it. But I don't move as he stands in front of me, grinning.
"So what do you say, Yuma? Do we have a deal?"
"Oh we have a deal, alright." I tell him before I seal the deal with a kiss.
