Outline 4 | @Thegreyninja11 Chapter Outline

TheGreyNinja11 its not a lot but I don't know what else to add. maybe some training?

The sun had risen not even four hours ago and we all had already started our day. I didn't fall asleep last night in fear that one of the ninja would try something on me. That's very depressing, I understand. Days, maybe a week ago, I would easily fall asleep in the presence of the ninja because I trusted them. But now, that didn't even seem an option.

The ninja had left me with Kai -the root of my trust issues- so that they could study the scale more. So, of course, Kai wanted to use this time to train. Which didn't make sense to me because sparring would not help his case in the slightest. We had completed stretches and simple conditioning excersizes before sitting back on a rooftop in the barren city and looking out over the vast landscape.

I took my hair out from my ponytail and let it cascade over my cheeks, feeling the wind brush it back. It was peaceful, just quiet and whole. I did this on a normal basis at the castle. I would grab a tropical drink and hold it in my hands, sitting back on my balcony railing and pretending that just once, maybe, I could be normal. At least pretend to be normal.

My normal didn't involve abusive parents and a prince to be sold off to. It didn't involve ninja and a robotic Sensei. It certainly didn't involve my only friends betraying me and beating me just like my parents. In other, very blunt terms, it didn't involve Kai.

"So, uh, Kim," Kai started, looking out at the city around us. "-Ora," I snapped. "Kimora," I added, not bearing to turn and look at him. "Sorry, Kimora. About everything. This mess, what we did, what I did, I'm sorry," he pleaded for my forgiveness, my words. "You've already said that," I snipped back.

"But you haven't said anything in return," he softly whispered. I looked down, finding more interest in my hands than I did in the city. Kai was looking at me, staring into my eyes. He wanted me to say something to him. But instead, I hopped to my feet and grabbed my technoblade from the roof, trudging away.

Kai quickly jumped to his feet and chased after me just as I landed on the concrete ground, passing through an alley. "Kimora, wait! Please!" he begged. I stopped in my tracks and spun on my heel so fast you wouldn't tell the difference between me and a cheetah. "I don't want to hear it, Kai! You hurt me, you physically and mentally kicked me when I wa already down! I ran away from home, Kai! I left! I jumped out of my window and sprinted! And I wish I could run away from you! I really do! But Sensei Wu needs me! And you're lucky he does," I spat, tramping away quickly.
