Anakin reached the compound late in the night, annoyed at how many klicks away it was from the Jedi refuge. Worst of all, the council would not provide him a speeder to reach the compound for fear that someone would follow him. Traveling there was slow, his heavy Jedi robes slowing him down considerably. Normally, he would have worn lighter clothes, however, the Jedi council requested that when he met the younglings, he looked presentable. Anakin at first did not mind, that is, until he actually began making the journey to the secret facility. 

Located on the outskirts of the planet-city, it was hidden in the more sparsely populated parts of the city. As Anakin approached the compound, he noticed that there was the rare sight of foliage around the enclosure. Something unusual for the planet of Coruscant. Moving a leaf aside, he saw that the compound itself was covered in vines. It radiated the image of abandonment as if it could easily fall apart if someone merely breathed on it.

"What has the council gotten me into?"

With a sigh, he moved forward, carefully concealing his identity in the shadows of the night. Anakin reached the door of the building in seconds and lightly rapped three times on the door, the first knock longer than the last two.

He felt a presence by the door and sensed that the person was trying to see if he was truly a friend. After a few seconds of time passed, locks were unhooked. Steel screeched and the door opened, revealing a small togruta girl on the other side. She was small, no older than 12, with wide blue eyes staring at Anakin.

"So, you must be the new guy. Come on it." She quipped and a surprised Anakin followed.

"Um, I am not the new guy," Anakin emphasized with a stern tone, "I'm your new master slash protector."

"Well to us, you're the new guy." She said. Anakin was stunned, he couldn't believe this girl was getting so snippy with him. He decided to ignore her and finally look up at his surroundings. His eyes bulged at the place, it was definitely larger than it looked on the outside. It towered with two stories, the top floor like a balcony to the open floor at the bottom. In front of Anakin was a large square, used for sparring and training. All he could see after that was doors along the wall, he inferred that they led to other rooms. The second floor was nothing but doors, leading to more unknown regions of the compound. The young girl watched Anakin curiously as he observed the room around him.

"What's your name?" She finally asked, arousing Anakin from his stupor. He looked at her oddly but said, "Skywalker. Anakin Skywalker." The girl couldn't help but chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Anakin asked, annoyance lacing his voice.

"Well Mr. Newguy since your name is Skywalker, I think your name is Skywalker, I think your new nickname should be Skyguy." She smirked and began to walk away. Anakin's face hardened as he took long strides to catch up with her.

"Oh no! That's Master Skywalker to you, Miss Snippy." He called and she just laughed.

"The name's Ahsoka Tano." The girl said, ignoring Anakin's remark.

"Well, my new name for you is Snips since you love nicknames so much. Now where are you taking me, Snips?"

She led him through a door at the far corner into what seemed to be some sort of conference room. Four other Jedi surrounded a circular table, looking quizzically at Anakin.

"I'm introducing you to the rest of us," Ahsoka announced and swept her arm out to show the other four. A mix of ages sat before him, the youngest looking five while the oldest was likely Ahsoka's age or a bit older.

Anakin stared at them, unsure of how to bring their relationship together. He tugged at his stifling Jedi collar and cleared his throat.

"I'm Anakin Skywalker. But I guess I'm Master Skywalker to you guys. Umm... you all probably know why you're here and why I'm here right?"

Nods went around the room.

"Good thing I don't have to explain that."

"Okay, well enough about me, I want to know more about you four. I've already met Snips over here," He said, pointing a thumb at Ahsoka.

"I'm Katooni and I'm seven now!" The brave girl squeaked and Anakin smiled. He had to admit she was cute.

"Well, I'm Petro." The boy beside her said, looking to be about the same age as the Tholothian girl.

"Niven." The shy boy sitting on the other side of Pedro murmured quietly. His eyes would not make eye contact with Anakin bit he could tell this boy was the youngest. Anakin sent positive energy to him through the force, hoping to ease his tension.

"And I'm Lux Bonteri." The oldest boy stated, confident in his introduction. Ahsoka rolled her eyes while mouthing, ignore him, to Anakin. He grinned, looking at the five in the room with some type of pride and realized... there were supposed to be six.

"Uh, aren't there supposed to be six of you?" The Jedi knight asked and all eyes averted from him instantly.

"What?" Anakin questioned, unsure of the change in behavior.

"She was taken," Lux simply said, "Force hunters."

Anakin's eyes widened but he nodded, guilt suddenly lodged in his throat.

"It's okay Master Skywalker, you didn't know," Niven whispered. Anakin's mouth contorted into a sad smile, a child should not have to know about killings and death.

"I'm sorry," Anakin murmured, unsure of what to say.

"Hey, how about we go to the mess hall, eat up, and get a good night's rest. I have a feeling Master Skywalker is going to show us some neat things tomorrow." Ahsoka suggested, holding onto Katooni;s hand while staring at Anakin.

"That sounds like a good idea, let's talk over dinner," Anakin replied, and with that the new ragtag band of Jedi left the room. 

I was sick today and that is the only reason I was able to get this done and publish it. :( Okay so I actually had this done in my notebook but I never finished typing it up bc of FREAKING SCHOOL! *sighs* Sorry it took me two months to update a single chapter, totally unacceptable.  I also really like the idea of this AU but I'm not feeling it as much as I did with my other stories... does that make sense?  Maybe I just need to get more into it idk but we shall see where this goes.  I have barely started chapter six so it might also be a little while for another update, also bc I am trying to update my DC oneshots so yeah.
